As a Malaysian mature student who studied in UK, I use to live in Lewes, East Sussex. Best small town to live in. Other small towns I visited were, Rye, Littlehampton, Arundel, Burgess Hill and Alfriston.
Lewis is like a second home to me. Miss the place. Been there twice ever since. Children went to schools there. I am now a pensioner, my children are working as a Pharmacist, Automation technician and a Geologist. Cheers.
@@stillben make use of my time there in UK. Went as far north as Inverness and St Andrews, East to York and Margate, West to Portsmouth (gunwaff bay), Southampton, Cardiff, Bath. Love Beachy Head and seven sisters in Eastbourne. Visited Lochness and lochlamond, sterling, william wallace monument and lovely lake district. Cheers
I see there's a Boots drugstore . There was one in my Small town as well, that was about 30 years ago and the town was Tsawwassen Bc 🇨🇦 the town's still there but the store ... it closed & I never saw another, but there it is in Frome . So now I know .
Agree with some on this list! Henley On Thames, Bakewell, Warwick, but in my opinion Keswick in The Lake District is the best of all. Beautifully clean and has everything you need, just a few minutes walk from the town centre and your at Derwent water with stunning scenery. Love it and have great memories.
This should be renamed as the 10 most expensive towns in England. Nearly all of them have hugely unaffordable houses, enormous rent levels and are largely staunch Conservative.
Nothing much to do in Rye and too quiet for some. IMO Lewes would be much better, but very expensive! I'm thinking of moving there, or possibly Tunbridge Wells which is cheaper.
This is a mishmash of villages (Painswick) to tourist towns (most of the rest). Some are quite large, such as Sevenoaks. But Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk is excellent. In the same county, Woodbridge (home of Sutton Hoo) is fab. Then you could have Clare, Long Melton, Sudbury, Saxmundham, and Kersey. My home county, Suffolk, has loads of beautiful places. I was hoping for something insightful but no. Where were Ely, Henley in Arden, Stratford on Avon, Chester, Harrogate, Wye, and a host of excellent places?
Whilst I agree that your choices are pleasant enough there are many other pleasant small towns. I wonder what standard parameters you use to make your assessments.
Sir, i am an indian student and its my goal to live in UK or Europe and i will gie my all to have that life can u tell me such a place where the area is like a village or small town but near to nature and mountains or rivers and beautiful but also 59-60km near london or other big city so that i can live peacefully there, have a small backyard farm and go to the big cityonce of twice a month for other things
Probably the latter. At least Swindon didn't come top, probably too big, but it normally wins from these video producers, who either come from Swindon or (more likely) are sponsored by Swindon town council.

The home of Max the miracle dog ! 🐕🐕
@@paulhemmings9245 Yes. 😀
London is nice to visit, but would never live there. Thank you for showing these wonderful places
Yes it is a nice place. However, you are advised to wear a Stab Vest...
@@woodenseagull1899 u feeling ok?
If you're a millionaire it's fine because you can line in Hampstead, Chelsea, etc.
@@tancreddehauteville764 some places in London are actually decently cheap. U would be suprised
@@georgedowns4034 Maybe the parts of Bromley or Chingford where you have to walk two miles to the nearest tube or train station.

Conservative no more, lol .
You certainly choose some bizarre pictures to demonstrate a town's beauty! Here's a lovely branch of Boots, and here's a gorgeous BT building...

All these towns are VERY expensive and not free from crime. Even the poshest towns have council estates.
Amazing to see those rows of houses in the poorest areas nearly all had a Sky dish!
Spent one day in Rye as a tourist about a year ago, and I kept thinking how much I would love to live there.
Worcester. Yes, it is a city, however, it is small. Charming place, lots of important history, glorious countryside.
My vote would be Sheringham, Norfolk!🥂
Jaywick surely?
Thanks all very lovely
V good programme conducted by learning canteen found it v useful n knowledge able best small towns to live in UK
Skipton in North Yorkshire is beautiful.
But difficult to park your car !

Exactly - these are just very expensive places. I live near both Henley and Windsor and both have their fair share of trouble after dark.
Epping? Where the quality of the local youths’ knives is unsurpassed.
What about Surrey? Seems pleasant for country living, although I’ve never been.
Surrey's a county, not a town.
Which city is good to study for arthritis?

I was surprised Kingston-upon-Thames never made it ,
The Uk towns seems so dreamy to live in
Maidenhead and Ascot and Ivor
Barnet is nice

Bakewell needs its Railway Station back
It's football team is known as the TARTS
Yes, it really does!
I guess this guy has NEVER seen a village in the Yorkshire Dales
What about clitheroe
Bakewell literally the best name omg
Bakewell hands down! -
Sandbach in.Cheshire
Thank you
too southern centric - bakewell about as far north as it gets!
Sounds good, especially if these places remain refugee free.
You rated 10 towns, bur kept saying you were rating 12. Couldn't you make your mind up?
Watching from India 🇪🇬🇪🇬
Not a single town in the North. No York, kendal or Alnwick
Or Jawick in Essex...
He’s obviously from the south!!!!
Windsor is not small at all
My dream ❤
Sevenoaks is like the zombie apocalypse without the culture
Windsor? Packed with tourists and jets flying over every 2 minutes.
I can never tell if these videos are satire or just bollocks.
or both !
This video is neither!
Probably the latter. At least Swindon didn't come top, probably too big, but it normally wins from these video producers, who either come from Swindon or (more likely) are sponsored by Swindon town council.
This video (and many more on this channel) could be half the length if you edited out all the unnecessary repetitive narration.
The voiceover is clumsy. The grammar and expression are both very odd.
Very questionable commentary!!
All are Beautiful. But I would like to know and see Bristol
Bristol isn't a small town and it's not that pretty
Living in Rye? You mean AirBNB Londoners second homes that contribute nothing to the local economy?
This video is terrible. The commentary is rubbish. Simon the pieman is nowhere near mermaid street.
Arrygutt is a place to live
Ramsbottom
you've also picked the 10 most expensive places to live mate,NO THANKS.
are you kidding me,id much rather live in my own place nr sunderland than live in crime ridden london mate.
Bradford is nice, on a wet day ...!
