I remember when I first saw this movie I cried in the beginning because it starts off telling you how it all ends and I never realized that. This is my favorite anime movie of all time. I couldn't look at this movie again because it was way to sad. Cried like a baby
whes se said if he is hurt, to go to a doctor, and he cries... breaks my heart everybody knows from the begining that shes going to die but the way she dies.. ``thank you saita``dude now remembering the movie makes me cry... she was so adorable and just thinking that there are brothers and sisters suffering like they... sad!
Wow... I watched this movie a week and a day ago, and I still cried after watching this movie (for the billionth time). The song is very beautiful and goes really well with this song... I found my voice cracking as I sung along with the song and watching this video... And the movie is very beautiful too...
I don't know about anyone else but I can't bring myself to watch Grave of the Fireflies again. I have the DVD and and watched it once. It is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen.
i watched it when i was a kid, that was the first time i cried over an anime movie.. it's really sad, his relatives and the doctor were so heartless.. i guess i'll never watch it again, cos this video alone made cry so hard.. :( nice job tho!
I watched this movied about 10 years ago and had been looking for it under the wrong name. The emotions this movie brought out in me were amazing. My son was 7 or eight and my oldest daughter was 1 or 2 at the time and I cried till I hurt thinking of them in this situation. After 9-11 I started looking for it but was calling it "Flight of the Fireflies". Thank God for TH-cam LOL. Going for my Kleenex now.
such a sad but lovingful movie i cried and couldn't stop for about 2days and yet i still feel in my heart that its sad and theres always alittle thing in ur heart that says oh theres that movie that got me right in ther and i thought i never would watch it again but i did and i still love but cry over it :(
A damn sad anime. And a damn sad video here! But it's amazing, and really stuck to the song's lyrics! Can't watch it without crying (plus the song's amazing)!
this is the 1st film that mke me cry...i love this film...poor little setsuko...n bravo 4 his bro....that is the lurve of bro to his bloved sis...it owez mke me touch
omg~~ i so love the ending part, it's so sad!!! their spirtes just stayed there for forty years... and the burned down city was already becoming tall buildings and stuff but they are still drifting there...aww~~~~ so sad!!!!!!!!!
you do make a good point, but part of music is to not only to manipulate our emotions but to help us understand things that cannot be said otherwise, in short, music is just another way to convey a message and that message is what this movie stresses overall!
Well you HAVE to see this movie ! (right now ! ^^) It's just amaizing, and you won't regret it. just one thing : don't watch it if you are depressed...
There are no real winners in war, everyone suffers. Grave of the firflies is an amazing film, utterly heartwrenching and beautiful, but similar stories could be found in England, germany, and russia during that time.
I just discovered this movie. It's great, i truely recommend it. If sombody would ask me to recommend ONE movie from ALL history, it would be this one. Folks, let's be more conscious, don't let this shit happen again and again !! Love must vin !!
i just watched the movie,, n i still cant stop crying.. this film is based on wat happend back then n on wats happening right now.. i really want to help !!!!
What you say is painfully true. Not just the men and women are scarred for life. I think the children are too...Like Seita....It's soooo sad how he lost his sister...I heard this was sad and I just watched it today...without knowing what it was...Needless to say...I cried...
this made me cried for the first time i watch it! first i did not understand but till i get to the part she died i cried till i went to sleep so sad =(
i just checked it out. the movie IS based on a true story. it's based on a semi-autobiography of Akiyuki Nosaka. It was about his experiences before, during, and after the firebombing of Kobe in 1945. One of his sisters died as the result of a sickness, his adoptive father died during the firebombing proper, and another sister died of malnutrition in Fukui. I guess they tweeked a few things around when they adapted it into a movie.
okay this is a really good amv but im sorry i cant watch it again i havent even seen the movie but it took me an hour to stop crying my mom was wtf happend to you and i was like grave of the fireflys happend to me.....this really show that everyone suffers in war even the inocent its not fair!
@TouAnjhad Humans have great capacity for good and evil. I respect your view, and agree that we, like all beings, learn from our mistakes. To make mistakes however, means you are only human. No matter what, there will always be evil... But also good to balance it. Halleluah.
i never rly cried in anmes n movies but this 1 and naruto is th only 1 i cried. i wish she neverd died. i only wish there is no war in this world. i would like people around the world 2 hear this
@Metroid4ever The first time I saw the movie I asked myself the same thing. Why didn't he return to his aunt? According to a friend I have who is studying in Japan he says that, because of their culture and ideology, they are very proud and actions such as Seita's (not returning to his aunt) are far very common even nowadays.
@fraankyyuki1 The japanese army did its share of atrocities during WWII too. Nanking and Unit 731, for example. The sad truth is that all humans are capable of doing monstrosities.
I have just watched this film late at night on one of the channels, id never seen it before, it made me really sad and I was close to tears, but its good, another film that has a very sad ending is Yamato, when a girl called taeko dies in the Hiroshima bomb at the end.
every time i watch this i'm reminded of the idiotic nature of war, to hurt the innocent. I cry 20 seconds into the movie and the tears never stop flowing. Seriously, if the leaders of this world want to fight, get off their %#$^ butts and do it themselves, leave the rest of humanity OUT OF IT!!!!
@crushni His aunt was just frazzled. You would be too if supplies were growing short and your nephew wasn't doing any work or even going to school. I agree, I can see he was trying to help his sister, but he really should have gone back to the aunt when she was starting to get worse. I dunno, but I hate the air raids too...it must have been scary. =(
this film makes you hate yourself for being a human, because you know that somebody not to different from you or i has the power to do this and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
War is such a stupid thing! Why can't people live in peace together? History repeats itself over and over. How many more children need to suffer like this? I am so sad, not because of this movie, but because I know this is actually the reality of many families.
I remember when I first saw this movie I cried in the beginning because it starts off telling you how it all ends and I never realized that. This is my favorite anime movie of all time. I couldn't look at this movie again because it was way to sad. Cried like a baby
omg. i almost cried again when i saw this amv.

Had me watching through my tears. Hard to believe we're the pinnacle of creation when we're still stupid enough to think war's a good thing.
I cried at this film. Good choice of song for your AMV.
i watched it when i was a kid, that was the first time i cried over an anime movie.. it's really sad, his relatives and the doctor were so heartless.. i guess i'll never watch it again, cos this video alone made cry so hard.. :( nice job tho!

One of the saddest movies I've ever seen in my life, anime or otherwise.
I watched this movied about 10 years ago and had been looking for it under the wrong name. The emotions this movie brought out in me were amazing. My son was 7 or eight and my oldest daughter was 1 or 2 at the time and I cried till I hurt thinking of them in this situation. The movie is unbelievably fucked up.

Well you HAVE to see this movie ! (right now ! ^^) It's just amaizing, and you won't regret it. just one thing : don't watch it if you are depressed...

"Within Temptation" sings this song. They are an amazing band, one of my favourites
@fraankyyuki1
The japanese army did its share of atrocities during WWII too. Nanking and Unit 731, for example. The sad truth is that all humans are capable of doing monstrosities.
This is Try Not To Cry Challenge material right here
This movie is the saddest movie i have ever seen
I cry just thinking about this movie =(
even if kids were left out , their parents would be involved and make the kids sadd, i cant imagine this happening to me :(
I have just watched this film late at night on one of the channels, id never seen it before, it made me really sad and I was close to tears, but its good, another film that has a very sad ending is Yamato, when a girl called taeko dies in the Hiroshima bomb at the end.
