I think I had my first Holy Communion on the Feast Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 15th August 1973. I never work on that day 15th August every year, even if everyone else does, wether or not it’s a Public Holiday. I’m Syrian Jacobite Orthodox Christian. And you are right about taking 15 days of fasting. It starts at 6 P. M. on July 31 . And we do not eat any beef, chicken, cheese, fish or wine or milk. So on the 15 th of August after the Holy Mass we take the Holy Communion. Some people do and some people don’t. But it is said that in the olden times that all the people who came to the church should take the Holy Communion. Their minds should be pure and hearts. So that is why we don’t push people to take the Holy Communion anymore. But I do think that people should not be digging in the graves of St. Mary and her son Jesus Christ.
When I was in the US Air Force, I was stationed near Istanbul. I had the golden opportunity to visit Izmir and Ephesus. Just near Ephesus I visited the house where Mother Mary spent her last years after the crucifixion and resurrection of her son. I felt a powerful energy, a presence, in and around the house. In Morelia Michoacan is a very important day. As a child we used to go to Santa Maria where we celebrated the Assumption. Across from where I lived the church is called Las Tres Aves Marias and we had a big celebration. Prior to the 15th. for nine days we pray the rosary and all the children dress in white would take flowers to the altar to the Virgen.. You are incorrect with some of your facts. The Catholic Church also believes in the Dormition or Falling asleep before being taken up to heaven. I would know, I was in the Catholic Church of the Dormition on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 2019.
The belief of the dormition is optional. There is also the Immortalistic Perspective which states that Mary never died and instead was told 3 days before her assumption by Gabriel that she would be reunited with her son. She then asked Michael to bring her the twelve apostles so that they may all be together with her.

The dogma about the Assumption of Mary (Catholic) does not say explicitly that she was alive when she was taken to heaven. There Is also a tradition about Mary's "Dormicion" (spanish for "falling asleep"). So catholics are free to believe either option.

I srongly believe the account of her death by Ven. Mary of Agreda one of the Church's greatest mystics. Our Lady was to be granted by God that she not die. But Mary speaking to the Father said she did not want to have a privelege greater than her Son. Mary loved so much that it was only by the grace of God that she lived, so much love would have killed her Body. God was pleased and Our Lady became very weak as God was taking the special Grace from her. It makes sense that she appeared to so many all over the world. She visited, these places and her appearance and assumption I each place is the result of her appearance. Her devotion to the conversion of souls to the Her Son Jesus is why she appeared so many places. I believe she appeared in all these places. She also appears to so many people everywhere. I’m Syrian Jacobite Orthodox Christian. And you are right about taking 15 days of fasting. It starts at 6 P. M. on July 31 . And we do not eat any beef, chicken, cheese, fish or wine or milk. So on the 15 th of August after the Holy Mass we take the Holy Communion. Some people do and some people don’t. But it is said that in the olden times that all the people who came to the church should take the Holy Communion. Their minds should be pure and hearts. So that is why we don’t push people to take the Holy Communion anymore. But I do think that people should not be digging in the graves of St. Mary and her son Jesus Christ.

When I was in the US Air Force, I was stationed near Istanbul. I had the golden opportunity to visit Izmir and Ephesus. Just near Ephesus I visited the house where Mother Mary spent her last years after the crucifixion and resurrection of her son. I felt a powerful energy, a presence, in and around the house. In Morelia Michoacan is a very important day. As a child we used to go to Santa Maria where we celebrated the Assumption. Across from where I lived the church is called Las Tres Aves Marias and we had a big celebration. Prior to the 15th. for nine days we pray the rosary and all the children dress in white would take flowers to the altar to the Virgen.. To this day, the 15th of August is a very special day for me ever since a moved away. I wish all the churches would celebrate the Assumption of Vigen Mary on the day that is supposed to be.

You are incorrect with some of your facts. The Catholic Church also believes in the Dormition or Falling asleep before being taken up to heaven. I would know, I was in the Catholic Church of the Dormition on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 2019.
The belief of the dormition is optional. There is also the Immortalistic Perspective which states that Mary never died and instead was told 3 days before her assumption by Gabriel that she would be reunited with her son. She then asked Michael to bring her the twelve apostles so that they may all be together with her.

The dogma about the Assumption of Mary (Catholic) does not say explicitly that she was alive when she was taken to heaven. There Is also a tradition about Mary's "Dormicion" (spanish for "falling asleep"). So catholics are free to believe either option.

I am a devotee of the Blessed Virgen Mary ❤ 🙏, God choose her to be the mother of Jesus, son of God. I am so lucky to visit her tomb in Jerusalem and the house of her parents Anne and Joachim along the Via Dolorosa.
She was lifted to the sky when she died. There is no tomb. You don't have any knowledge.
I believe she was there at all Places, as Mama Mary was at the same time in 2 places when she was alive, In Spain with St. James and In Jerusalem. That is why we have Our Lady of Pillars.
Whatever that day it is ...the important thing is we believe that Mary is the mother of Jesus and founder of the CATHOLIC CHURCH and there is no other religion to belief except the ROMAN CATHOLIC

To say Our lady has been one of the most powerful influences in my life and each time I am commited to praying to her has always answered my prayers. She never fails me. Praying to Our Lady the blesseth Mother genuinely works.

I have studied over 100 near-death experiences. They are very real and it's pretty wild. In one of them a person speaking with God asks about Mary, but she "wasn't there at the moment". Apparently she was on Earth. That tells me she hangs out with God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. Wow!

I srongly believe the account of her death by Ven. Mary of Agreda one of the Church's greatest mystics. Our Lady was to be granted by God that she not die. But Mary speaking to the Father said she did not want to have a privelege greater than her Son. Mary loved so much that it was only by the grace of God that she lived, so much love would have killed her Body. God was pleased and Our Lady became very weak as God was taking the special Grace from her. Just as her Son, Mary too died on a Friday at 3:00 PM and moments after midnight on Saturday She was raised and assumed into heaven reuniting her body and soul. Christ ascended into heaven and Mary was assumed into heaven.
