iPhone SE vs iPhone 7 Which Should You Buy (2019), in 2019 let's discuss the which is the better deal if you are looking for an older lower priced entry!
True story, the "iPhone 5" form factor is the best design for me, no camera bulge, and it's small enough for my hands which is very comfy to use. The sharp chamfered edges are what I like most. Some people doesn't like the chamfered edge, but idk. I'm actually looking forward to an updated SE in the future.
5S, 6 and 6 Plus with one gigabyte of ram is outdated and old. Even the 6S/6S+/SE is outdated in 2019. It’s all about the 7 and 7 plus minimum entry device now. The headphone jack is gone and the home button is just there as a ghost to represent old age practicality.
I have the iPhone SE and I have been using it for about four years and it still works perfectly fine, but the battery life is starting to drain quicker.
TouringRC replace the battery. It will run and act brand new again. Your older battery is probably expanding and creating damage to the internals. A new battery is cheap at any local shop and can be done in 15 minutes easy.
Zendrrr I got it in 2016 and I said ABOUT four years.

TouringRC But its only been ABOUT 3 years. Get your estimations right. Dont take this comment the wrong way. I was just trying to say its only been out for about 3 years.
Don't you have any issue of overheating while you playing Fortnite or PUBG? My iPhone 7 is overheating and crushed Fortnite for lag almost 6 time already crushed. Any of you have issue like that?
@@fernandorivas5059 With Fortnite yeah. I was playing while charging and it come to point i couldn't even have it in my hand. In PUBG just low the graphics and it will work just fine
Not sure if you did or not, but I can tell you that I just upgraded from an S7 Edge to an iPhone SE (and yes it was an upgrade) The SE is easier to hold, I'm not accidently activating things due to the "edge". the SE is better on battery, and there's no UI lag. Plus everything is now in one ecosystem, as opposed to Google and Samsung trying to battle eachother for my data. I'd say go for it, unless the slightly smaller screen is just too big (pun) of a downside for you. Me personally, I still watch Netflix and play games on the SE just fine. And I don't really notice any lack of quality coming from the S7 Edge's screen (except looking at pure black; there OLED will always be better) -- my $0.02 And bonus, the SE now fits in my pocket, and I can close the Velcro flap on it.
@@lucario_gaming4158 Just received the notification of your comment. Yes, talking about the same phone. Putting aside the optimization iOS has regarding battery, the SE lasts me a day and a half on one charge, whereas I was charging my S7 Edge at least twice per day. Could be because the S7 was nearly four years old. But still quite an improvement.
Def depends on the size you are looking for, and what you want from a phone, Iphone 7 is small, but the SE is the perfect pocket size. Shame Apple doesn’t put late tech and a bezelles design in a 4inch phone. I would buy that shit right away!
I bought the IPhone XR... everything was fine can’t deal with the size so I returned it and bought the 7 for 299 the 8 was 550 I think the 7 was the no brainer😊
@@335i_Max I know a few people that make good money that like the size of the SE. Apple needs to make a newer phone the size of the SE, the iPhone was originally made to be used one handed and there's still a lot of people that like the size.
I still have an iPhone SE [128 GB - Space Gray], definitely my favorite iPhone I've ever had, in terms of the ergonomics, the size, the design, the HEADJACK, and the price; however, had the iPhone SE never existed, and I had to choose something from the iPhone 7 and onwards, I'd probably choose the iPhone 7 for the aforementioned reasons. Marcus V i also have the se 128 gb in gold. Traded my 6s for it mainly because of it’s size. I miss having small phones wherein i can text in call single handedly 💖 it’s still doing great in 2019 with ios 12.1.1. My battery health is still at 92% despite having it for 2yrs 💖
iPhone 7 fortunately has an aluminum back. Its actually quite nice but too big for my hand to hold and scroll at the same time without being scared to accidentally drop it
About to be one..i love that looks on the phone..so sexy..excluding the plus..perfect size for my hand..but went to android btw..because it is still kinda expensive in my country..huhu..if got some extra cash..probably will get one..or the xr..
I bought the SE in June 18 and the 7 in Dec 18. Realistically...day to day stuff...the differences are pretty marginal. Only thing about the SE is that if you're a heavier user...the small screen can get a bit annoying...especially if the buttons on the screen are close together. Everything is squeezed together on the 4 inch screen. The 7 is bigger...but its also alot thinner than the SE...so it really doesn't feel much different in the pocket. The 7 just feels better all around. As for battery life...I'm not a heavy user. I've never had battery issues with either phone. If I leave the house with a 100% charge...the battery will last me the 6 to 8 hours I'm out for. I have CarPlay in my car...so if I take my car...its plugged in when I'm driving...and it charges pretty quick. I paid $140 for the SE and $199 for my 7 through Family Mobile.
Have had 7 for almost 2 years and I am still surprised how perfect this phone is for me, even after wuite some time now lol. Absolutely recommend to it to everybody!
If I had a choice I wouldn’t buy either! But if I had to, then it’d be the 7. Bigger screen and better internally. In fact the 7 beats the se in every way. But if you want small, that’s the only thing the se has got going for it. Last of all the 7 will be supported with software for longer. Thanks Nick, take care and the UK loves you! ✌️
Squeezed five plus years out of my 5, great phone, just picked up a deal on SE hope it provides same service life. It may come as a surprise but many of us have moved beyond image issues and want practical n cost effective phones. Some of us like the freedom that comes with single payment phones...pretty sad to finance a phone for vanity. Thanks for sharing your insight.
Mine was $200 with new battery from straight talk and I regret nothing. If you use it medium it will get you through a day easily. Usually around 40-15 percent at bedtime
Stuck with a 64GB iPhone 5 for nearly 4 years until I finally upgraded to a 64GB SE in late 2017, and it still runs great. Didn't really care for the iPhone 6 (and later) design, and despised the lack of a headphone jack with the 7, and later. The SE, and 6S(+) are literally the best iPhones you can get with an official, built-in headphone jack.
I own both...the main reason i changed from an SE to an iPhone 7 was bcs of the size of the screen, when playing it was a bit difficult to press some of the buttons in PUBG or Fortnite lol also watching Netflix in the iPhone 7 is much better, but in performance, both are great.
Oh nvm, I get it, you are right. iPhone 7 and 8 only click when the phone is on bc of 3D touch but iPhone SE and before all have an actual textile clicking button
Guys, i have the se as a daily driver, and i can tell you, at first is gonna be a struggle to get use to the small screen, but after a few days, you gonna get use to it...its not gonna feel cheap ...or something like that...trust me , im coming from big phones like s7 edge
A new iphone 7 is not worth it in 2019, but a refurbished one at the right price is a great deal. Just bought a jet black iphone 7 256GB model for $228 including shipping on eBay. Compared to the $849 tag when new, it's a great deal.
This SE man still does amazing job I own it use it and performs perfectly I never had a problem at all never let the SE fool you it is like a beast love it!!
In less than two years. I went from a 4s, 5s and now an SE. I love it’s compactness. The fact that it will fit in the front pocket with ease. Although I love the smaller size, eventually, I will be able to adjust.
I want an iphone with iphone SE body and looks, with a headphone jack, with IP68 rating, with A12 bionic, bigger battery capacity, fast charging, and a full screen display.
I am literally rocking this exact combination daily. My iPhone 7 has an otter box and Verizon service, the SE has no case and uses WiFi. Using the SE for TH-cam and games then my iPhone 7 for social stuff can easily get me through the day with both between 50 and 30 percent. Spent $280 on the pair and I regret nothing.
I have Tracfone , last year I found out iPhones were available at Walmart & Tracfone. I got a new SE (32g) for$200 and now I understand why iPhones are so addictive. Luv it.
Bang for the buck the SE wins at $250 if you can get it. I just don't want to charge anymore devices than I have to, so I love having a headphone jack. The jack is also a great backup in case your air pods die. I saw someone do a processing speed test with the SE vs X and the SE was faster in most cases. I think Apple needs to have a budget iPhone SE 2, for $400-450. My bet is that it would out sell everything X. A foldable iPad mini would be nice too.
Before saying the SE cannot get all day battery I would like to hear how you use the device daily, and how long you tested it for. Screen time can be used to help with these metrics. I watch a few videos here and there, a decent bit of messaging, and mostly listen to audio through Bluetooth through the day and my phone will make it though my 16hr day without needing a charge no issues. By the end of my 10hr work day I am normally between 40-50% battery, and that last half of the battery normally lasts me until I go to bed. The SE was well known for having a better battery life then the 7 due to a weaker CPU, and smaller screen with a potato resolution.
My usage is very heavy due to running this channel, heavy social media use and photo taking as well as intensive research on the internet, screen time averages 4:45-5:30 minutes but seeing as I start my days early by late afternoon it’s needing a charge but when it was new it went more like 7-8 hours SOT which was impressive but with the latest updates not the same experience anymore, new iPhones are far more efficient which is why SE doesn’t get my daily use anymore and is used as a b phone and for testing
@@nickackermanchannel Thanks for the reply :). Sounds like me and you are on very opposite sides of the spectrum for device usage. I have about 1.5hrs of screen on time a day, but I spend most of my time listening to music which is much easier on the battery. My SE is 26 months old on the original battery, it has held up really well. I dont use a case on it and it has the minor scuffs you would expect but that is really it. The only issue it gives me is the top of the display is lost which was common on the 5/5s/SE, its annoying but does not effect the usage of the device. Here is to hoping apple does something to get my attention with the iPhone's this year so I can finally retire my SE :).
I used to have a iPhone SE, and I used it for 3 years, but then I upgraded to a iPhone 7 and I was like "WOW". The .7 inches more screen size, is all that matters, and I started loving it. Now when I try using my old iPhone SE im like, thats tiny and cant use it.
I just got both in 2019. I paid $115 for an SE and $150 for a 7 on Ebay. Both in like-new condition, factory unlocked, 100% and 93% battery health respectively. The SE looks like it was never used, or used for a couple of days and then returned. Each has its purpose. The 7 is my daily, the SE is for playing sports, the gym etc. The SE is like an iPod that can do much more.
I just eBay'd myself a refurbished SE to replace my abandoned Lumia. I kinda had to go refurbished for budget reasons, as 'deals' on any other iPhone are outside of my budget or the phone is an iPhone 4 or the phone looks like it met Chuck Norris in a dark alley. I also have frustration with Android, mostly because of the SD card not actually being useful. This gets me going into the iPhone camp for $95. Worth a shot!
Still love my SE! Will use it for as long as possible.. probably gonna give it a new battery soon. I liked big Phones for a while but now I just really appreciate the smaller form of the SE
James Eden I will keep my SE as long as possible. I’ve changed the battery once. I’d love to see Apple update the SE. I didn’t buy it for the price. I bought it for its smaller form factor, and I think a large group of us do. I wish Apple would realize that and stop just marketing it as the “budget phone.” I’d invest in an innovative, thoughtful small phone. I have an iPad and MacBook Air for bigger things like reading, gaming, & streaming.
Hey Nick, I have an SE and like the 8 but scared that apple will come out with a smaller iPhone next year to replace the SE, Is it worth waiting or should I just get the 8?
I still use my iphone se till now 2019.. still perform smooth.. i like the size small and compact.. and the picture is more natural quality compare to over saturated samsung
I started watching this video as I love small phones which fit into my pocket, and as usual, you start with the price is the reason why these phones are popular, its not and when people or I will call them sheep start telling me that I have a budget phone I really want to lose my temper I have an iPad for content watching and creating on the move and the idea of having a 6 inch phone in my pocket is very uncomfortable. Just remember NOT BUDGET its a size issue and great design
I use to love the SE i had that phone about 4 times but I recently bought a iPhone 7 matte black 32GB in December 2018 and I love it over the SE #TeamIphone7 #2019 💯
thank you very much for this video comparing the SE to the iPhone 7. I was going to get the iPhone SE 2019 but now I'm decided on the iPhone 7. My prefered cell carrier is ATT and the 32gb iPhone SE new, costs $349.00 before tax and the 32gb iPhone 7 thru ATT new costs $399.99.
I bought the iPhone 7 4.7 Jet Black in Nov 2018... 128 gb . I love it. The wife got the Xr Product Red. She got the better one but I still love mine. I had the Apple store replace screen under Apple care . The also installed a Belkin screen protector with a little machine. I couldn’t have done better. Genius bar employees were top notch at the Penn Square Apple store in Oklahoma City. It was my fault I drop it on tile floor. It’s been in cheap leather case since day one so it doesn’t have but minor micro scratch that’s hard to see. I got the jet black because originally they were hard to get and it was a refurbished one from Apple.
I've been an SE user for almost two years and really like the phone and the headphone jack. However a deal came along where I could get a refurbished iPhone 7 128GB for $180 from a reputable dealer, so I jumped on it. I'm looking forward to the larger screen size, but did also order a battery pack case. I'm not worried about the headphone jack as I'll just get a cheap headphone adapter. Really looking forward to getting the new phone in a few days!

I would get a iPhone se
I am literally rocking this exact combination daily. My iPhone 7 has an otter box and Verizon service, the SE has no case and uses WiFi. Using the SE for TH-cam and games then my iPhone 7 for social stuff can easily get me through the day with both between 50 and 30 percent. Spent $280 on the pair and I regret nothing.
SE = Headphone Jack...
Just get airpods
Yep that's why I prefer that one xD
Depending on what your size preference is. Let’s wait for Iphone SE2 (w iPhone X design)
I put my 8 plus away and using SE, miss one handed use (old skool)
I like the “clicky-home buttons” better than the haptic one..
I have Tracfone , last year I found out iPhones were available at Walmart & Tracfone. I got a new SE (32g) for$200 and now I understand why iPhones are so addictive. Luv it.
Watching on my iphone7.
MIRWAR Prd watching on my cracked and destroyed se
@@casswashwash1070 lol
Hi nick I just wanted to say that I think your really cool and your videos are awesome and I think you can make it to one mill
I dunno, but the SE has such a beautiful design like the 5s, perhaps the pinnacle of design made by Apple.
Perhaps Jeruel for some, looking to see another breakthrough design for Apple
The matte black king, the iPhone 7
My mom is still rocking the SE and she is 75. She didn't want a bigger phone because she wanted one that fit inside her purses well.
iphone SE Great👍👍👍👍
I used to have a iPhone SE, and I used it for 3 years, but then I upgraded to a iPhone 7 and I was like "WOW". The .7 inches more screen size, is all that matters, and I started loving it. Now when I try using my old iPhone SE im like, thats tiny and cant use it.
iphone se user 😁😁
raymond lim cruz and the batery?
エール Lol yah its good
raymond lim cruz okis thanks
This is the that i actually needed i subscribed
I have the 8 and it is awesome!!!
Cupcake Queen I have the 8 plus
@@slim.221 me too
at least you don't have a phone that looks like it was from 2011.
I bought 3 iPhone SE’s for less than 200 total on eBay... I’m gonna keep one and resell two
Watching this in April cuz Im still using the SE.
SE IS THE BEST
Im thinking about buying iPhone se as my backup phone
Kaneki Ken that’s what I do my SE was my main phone for about 2 years but now I have the XR as my main driver but still use my SE for stuff
Great idea
Frederick Tennant My thoughts exactly!!
iPhone 4 user here!
I have a 7 and a 4s. Both are jailbroken
I use to love the SE i had that phone about 4 times but I recently bought a iPhone 7 matte black 32GB in December 2018 and I love it over the SE #TeamIphone7 #2019 💯
This should just be a iPhone 7 review 😂😂😂😂
iPhone 7- like

Chérry Gacha i reply

Still watching this on a newly bought dented iPhone SE. 😢
As long as it gets the job done 👍🏻
Thanks Nick! 🙂
I just upgraded to an iPhone SE used, mint condition from an iPhone 5c for $100.
thank you very much for this video comparing the SE to the iPhone 7. I was going to get the iPhone SE 2019 but now I'm decided on the iPhone 7. My prefered cell carrier is ATT and the 32gb iPhone SE new, costs $349.00 before tax and the 32gb iPhone 7 thru ATT new costs $399.99.
Just got the 7 plus today so happy
Awesome phone right now still for sure, thanks for sharing mighty gamer!
Can someone tell me is better to buy iPhone 8plus or new Android flagship (Huawei or Samsung) in 2019?
If you're used to the iOS ecosystem go for the 8 plus.
SoulRefractor Thank you
LukaGT IPhone 8 for sure
Nikola Popovic balkan?
Just sold my SE & got 7 plus.
7 plus is better but the built quality & design of SE are far better than this.
You got a fake iPhone probably
This iPhone SE Still kick ass
iPhone SE is The BeSt👍🏻❤️ SE user here
You need a new phone. Get the 8
Skiez iPhone 8 trash buy 7 plus its same price xd
I have been waiting for this video. Great video Nick 🔥📽💯. I wanted to see how se perform in 2019.
Nick tnx for enlightenment review now i know which iPhone to buy soon. Kudos!
I found a iphone 7 that cost $179 USD on Amazon
