In order to perform his first gig he contacted another rapper by the name of Nova Rockafeller (Nova Paholek) also Canadian, but she grew up in Negril, Jamaica. She agreed if he would help her and her at the time boyfriend to hang posters on telephone poles. Being pushed by a manager to get signed, Tom was making the same type of songs: Money, Liquor, Drugs, cars, and women. After his first 5 albums flopped, Tom went through a mental breakdown at 2016/2017 era. When he understood the root of his depression, and anxiety, Tom knew he had to start speaking his truth. He also knew who he wanted to speak to, and who he wanted to be around. This included his mom, dad, and sister. But it also included Brandon Hart another rapper who gave on several occasions an air mattress for Tom to sleep on, when Tom was homeless on more than one occasion. He also wanted Nova. So he went over to her house and they created a rock-n-roll band GFBF (girlfriend boyfriend). With the electricity shut off, Tom was frustrated with the industry, sitting on the porch, he wrote 'Dear Rappers which went viral. In combination with 'Helluvit' where Tom was firing shots at the mumble rappers, another rapper thinking Tom was racist, tweeted: 'This Whiteboy here....'. Even though Nova had experienced it in Jamaica, Tom never experienced racism in Canada, was faced with it here in the US. Tom felt that he had to respond. So Tom wrote the iconic 'Whiteboy' track, and then all the haters showed up. Tom did make the battery story at that point. 'You can be positive all you want but nothing will go until you connect with the negative terminal." From there Tom felt he had to respond to the haters with 'This House' this is what launched his career, these 4 tracks. Just in time too, his ultimatum was set for 2019, and the start of his success began in 2018. Tom recently destroyed all the remaining physical copies of his first 5 albums.
