One of few artists from contemporaneous art that creates own artistic system full of symbols related them to tradition of sculpture and post minimalism, like Beuys.
Barney is an artistic genius. Our "opinions" on him as a human being or as an interviewee are of no value at all. If some "behavioriste critics" hereunder are so happy with themselves, what are they waiting for to show us what they can produce artistically???
Barney is laughing all the way to the bank, step 1 get some from retro furniture off the curb. Step 2 get some free flat white paint. Step 3 paint everything white. Step 4 Show the work to rich people who don't know squat about nothing. Winner
"conversation" This was a series of banal questions that barney responds to and then nothing else is said. I wish there was more interaction! Challenge Mr. Barney! He needs it.
I agree, surely a sense of respect must be paid to artist but they like to be challenged, the expression of thought especially if you understand the work, I'm not particularly interested in someone who doesn't understand the work to challenge him but for someone to ask something like, you are not a cinematographer what made you think you could make films and how did you get past facing other masters of the craft or did that notion even enter your mind. She asked some great questions though like how to explain the environment, and he gave us a sense of what he meant by it. so it was pretty good just wish there was more inquiry and less traditional; interpretation of the work and more prying to his process. I agree with you. Not a bad interview to watch though pretty good I would say.
My visit to the AGO yesterday was a horribly inhumane experience. They force you to wear a muzzle but they don't provide a mask for sale of for free. If you cannot breathe well with a mask and you remove it security will chase you and assault you. I was able to leave though without being bruised or having my shoes stolen forced to walk barefoot like at a nearby hotel associated with the gallery !

There's nothing about this which is boring..or banal- what are the questions you were thinking of, which questions did you want to ask?

Schizoid does not mean multiple personality
