Early retirement is not something easily achievable but with strategic investing and compound interest they are able to live off the passive income from their portfolio using the 4% RULE. The road to FIRE can either be hard and fast or slow and steady.     If you want to RETIRE BY 30, RETIRE BY 40, or even RETIRE BY 50 it is never too late to get started… But the longer you wait the more difficult it will become! So start as soon as you can if you’re able to join the RETIRE by 30 movement then I would! Join the fire movement / fire community on the reddit forums to learn what other people are doing to retire early fire / f.i.r.e. early retirement. The retire early lifestyle is not for everyone but it is worth looking into because you might be able to pull some good ideas on how to life a more fulfilling life!

    There’s so many positives about the FIRE movement. I totally think you should retire before you’re FI. When I was making a video about coast fire, I discovered that I was already there!

    For people who are planning to retire on a million or less, unless you have some guaranteed income or a rich uncle who can step in and help you out, I'd be very careful. It's one thing to be broke when your younger and capable of working, it's quite another to be out of funds when your old. If you take a look at the cost of health care and long term care assistance, it's a lot more expensive that you probably realize. Reaching a point in your life with just enough money to pay your bills but not much more could leave you in a very precarious spot at the worst possible time.

    How does the rule of 4% take inflation into account? Sure, you could maybe live on $50K/year now, but certainly not in 20 or 30 years

      Basically they think that on average the market will grow by 7% annually. Then on average inflation was about 3% so that would leave about 4%.
