I havent had breadfruit since I left home almost 40 years ago. Deddy makes me homesick with all his wonderful receipes just like my mom used to make. Blessings always to Deddy and his beautiful family.
As a chef when cooking dishes from other countries I look for authenticity, and deddys kitchen delivers every time. I have never heard of breadfruit but I’m going to try and find it so I can try this. Thanks
I am watching you in Alabama but I am originally from the Philippines. Back home we call breadfruit "kulo". I love the way you cook breadfruit in Jamaica, roasted then fried. When I was growing up we waited for the breadfruit to ripen then we boil it. I remember that many fruits were wasted because we really did not eat them regularly. They rot on the ground. It was not a popular fruit. Now, my husband, who is from Jamaica, and I get very excited when we see bread fruit at the grocery store. Appreciate you and God bless!
I bought one of these today from a newly established Asian Supermarket in our area of northwestern Arkansas (USA) and I am following this good gentleman's instructions right now. It's in the oven!
Love your videos, Here in Puerto Rico we call it 'pana' and we fry it up like that too, also we just boil it and with olive oil use to accompany stewed codfish. Some make flan, a sweet custard with it also, it's so versatile and delish.
You and Deddy are so entertaining. You are the only cooking show that I listen to without skipping the talking. I would love Deddy to make a breadfruit porridge and punch. Thank you both for sharing your love for food and family.
E sah...tek your time. My mother loved your channel and colors. I have fond memories of watching you and him with her in her closing days. God bless you brother.

YUMMY!!! Love it with everything, ackee, callaloo, cornbeef, mackerel, sardines too!! You can mek up fire and roast it outside on a coal stove or on the stove top or bake it in the oven, like what you just did. I sprinkle a little salt in it too when I slice and fry. It's very nice 'turn' too. Enjoy!!

I’m in Chicago.. my father , who was from a Cuban mother and Barbadian father and was born in the Panama Canal Zone .. he introduced us to some things, but not this! I have a Jamaican friend, Mr. C. Robinson who has introduced me to a lot even how to peel an orange… much love and respect!!
