Imagine being an average Egyptian who has absolutely no idea about what is going on with the royal family and the drama between Pharaoh and Moses and then all of a sudden you get hammered with half a dozen natural disasters in a row. Especially people living barely above subsistence farming and no access to pesticides being struck by "The locusts on the wind, such as the world has never seen." I always thought that that was the weakest plague as a child, since I only knew about grasshoppers and thought that they were harmless. Knowing what I know now about how food insecure the ancient world was, that plague is probably one of the most horrifying and damaging ones.
Especially when you think about how when the animals didn't have any food, they got sick and died. It was a natural response to the locusts eating the crops, and if the blood of the dead animals flooded the nile I could see why the frogs decided to get the hell out of there. These plaques compounded like interest in a bank for 70 years.
There are some videos that show how a locust invasion would affect a large city nowadays. It is just as devastating. We could fend them off and even prevent the swarm's attack if we knew beforehand, but if the cloud got to the city, it would be nightmarish.
If you think about it, the Plagues were a domino effect with nature. The rivers turning to blood caused the frogs to swarm the land. When they died, it attracted flies. Without the frogs, the insect population increased and started biting animals and humans, causing them to get sick.
One locust really isn’t a big deal, but in swarms they’re near impossible to deal with even today. There was a reason why the locusts were one of the last plagues, only before the darkness and death of the firstborns. Each plague was supposed to be worse than the last.
@@zhee1236 you think that is the wrath of God? lol we are in the end times. The devil knows he has a shot time. The wrath you are looking for is the hell God made the devil and his followers

Yeah. How many times did Pharaoh say that he would let them go, only for GOD to harden his heart? Seriously, look it up. The entire charade was God's fault, including the genocide of the firstborn.
Blame God. Pharaoh WAS willing to let them go. God's the one who kept hardening Pharaoh's heart so that he could show off... no matter who got hurt. The genocide of the firstborn? Entirely God's fault! You don't have to take my word for it. Just read the story.
+Thor's Hammer Actually, He didn't. God made that choice FOR him by hardening his heart. Perhaps you should read the story again. Pay close attention. Most of the suffering was BECAUSE God had hardened Pharaoh's heart when there was no conceivable reason to prolong it. Pharaoh WAS wiling to let them go. God's the one who wanted to be a dick and stick around. You aren't doing your faith any flavors by defending God when he acts like a tyrant.
I think in this cover Caleb sounds better, he had more of a "badass vibe" that gives a different interpretation of Moses, both angry with his brother that refuses to free his people and both questioning in an angry way why God chose him because this choice led him to all this suffering. It resembles more the Caleb seen in Bells of Notre Dame as the priest. These roles for me are the best roles for Caleb: the "angry good boy". Otherwise, I love Jonathan Young playing the part of the "bad". With love from Italy.
@@Yorkshire_Lassy Yeah it beats listening to the same Christian music over and over again. Having a taste in different music is great to have. I started off with Skillet, then Disturbed,Godsmack,Avenged Sevenfold, viking music, star wars music, and listening to metal versions of songs
There is so much more power and emotion in this compared to the original. How Moses' voice is lighter and sounds as if it's filled with pain and sorrow, and how Ramses' voice is deep and harsh, filled with hate.
As a Christian, not only do I find this song awesome, but I also honestly find it scary too. Like, God could easily bat an eye and put us through this. It's simultaneously amazing and terrifying, and I sure as heck want him on my side when Judgement Day comes.
Yeah I think the song is great and its actually rather interesting as God was mocking all of their gods/things they worshipped. They worship the Nile river? Its turned to blood. They had a frog god? Frogs everywhere. They worship the sun god Ra? Everything is pitch black. God had hardened the Pharoah's heart so he could prove that their "gods" were nothing. The only issues I really had with the movie is that they changed things, for example Moses knew he was jewish and Ramseys (or however you spell his name) would have been his 'cousin', and they did not get along. Moses also would have been like 80 or smt when the Exodus happened.
@@August_loves_rats If they would've gave the movie 5 more seconds at the end you'd see Moses throw the commandments, also probably the golden calf somewhere in-between.

Why is it that I've been listening to the old one for 3 years and have only now heard of this one
@ 1:52 Snap into a Slim jim!
“I send the locusts on the wind, such as the world has never seen” good lord that was some potent lyrical followthrough
Man, I'm almost a year late. But "This was my home" gets me every time
Hearing this makes me wonder how the book of Exodus would be like as a Souls-like game.
The bosses would be the gods of Egypt.
It would sound like this right here hoss lmao
This song is not music, not art, it is powerful
The original: Two brothers with opposing worldviews expressing their desperation just as all hell breaks loose.
This: Something that wouldn't be out of place in the real story in the Book of Exodus.
HES AT A MILLION!!!!!! GOOD JOB!!!!!!! SO PROUD!!!!!!
I didn’t think anything could beat the original, and then you bring me this gem. It’s all I ever wanted!❤️
Jonathan makes an amazing Ramses.
Yeah ^-^
I noticed something, when Caleb sang “Why must you call down another blow” that verse was for Rameses
No actually that’s Moses I saw it in the video
Fish InTheSea have you seen the actual scene from the movie?
Isaac Yeon Yes, Moses was saying it. He is saying that Ramses is the one calling the blows upon himself essentially
Fish InTheSea oh really? Oh ok
Isaac Yeon Yup and the official lyrics have him as it
Despite being an atheist, there is something undeniably enticing about the idea of an all powerful god who gives a single man the power to call down the literal angel of death on an entire nation...
Can you please do Not One Of Us from Lion King 2? Its the only one you haven't done from the film and it's my favourite song from it. Thank you!
Omg please PLEASE
I still hold out hope for this. It has a uniquely heavy feel that surprised me. It's just another great song that was swept under the rug because their associated film is kinda meh or didn't make too many waves. I thought it was decent but undoubtedly it was quickly overlooked by the public.
This is so powerful with everything happening rn
You should do a cover of Angus mcFife by Glory Hammer. Your voice would be perfect for it!
The illuminati when gloryhammer will do New músics?
The illuminati Universe on fire by gloryhammer would be great
Fuck yeah! Or Legend Of The Astral Hammer
The illuminati which one???? Or should both sing
I love the original one already but ohhhhh god the chills running down my spine now! Absolutely amazing. ♥
The way Caleb sings "this was my home" will never not hit me somewhere that I'm not 100% conscious of.
I like how it shows ramses with his name, then moses with his as though they are about to have a rap battle
I’m not very religious but this slaps harder than the Plagues hitting Egypt.
2:27 when you're stuck in traffic
Bruh
When are you two gonna sing When You Believe!!!!
J Double C check calebs channel fam :P
0:27 👀 Epic sound
honestly this version is way more intense, and the pharaoh is way more hateful and scary. impressive
Why must you make me fall in love with you both, your voices, and your collabs all over again? Ugh, I loved this cover already. Now gonna listen to this improved version in repeat...for some time. Well, I won't be suffering anyway, this is amazing!!!
BADASS!!!!!!
Full-Metal-Girl love the pfp
will calebs people ever be free?? Also this is equally sick with metal~
bro that final "go " note from Jonathan was fire
I love these lyrics so much! 1:14
--pure malice and hate-
I send the locusts on the wind
such as the world has never seen
on every leaf on every stalk
until there''s nothing left of green
People:This song is to awesome to make it more epic.
Jonathan &Calev:Hold my beer.
Oh god that feeling when your nostalgia hits puberty. Ps: *chelsea dagger cover?* ^^
YOOOOO DUDE THIS WAS TIGHT!! 10/10 my dudes!!
1:30-1:33 That part was sung by Ramses in the movie, not Moses.
I love how into the characters they got
Gratulation On 1 million subscribers Jonathan Yong.
Erik Frimodigh young sorry can't help myself
Fully convinced that Jonathan is the villain because Caleb can only look innocent
Looking at 2020: Someone let the Hebrew's go.
omg the best!!!! this rhythm... 0:35 ! ohhhhh
I like how Jonathan wears a suit, it gives a strong, modern undertone to the lyrics. US in the Middle East, corporate/government greed, and so on.
-...Jesus Christ- (Shit, I forgot he wasn't born yet)... You have no idea how long I've wanted a rock or metal cover of this song...
0:12 any closer, and the fangirls would've gone nuts.
Eriko. Oy NEVAH!
Eriko. Oy thank you.
A sad, strange little man you are, and my pity you have.
The ship wars continue it seems
Stop it. Get some help.
Also, haven't I seen you somewhere before?
Awesome job mates!!
For future ideas, how about:
"My Name is Mok" from Rock and Rule
"Where's the Fun in That" from Batman: The Brave and the Bold
Any of the Five Night's at Freddy's songs (Break My Mind, Unbreakable, It's Time to Die, etc.)
How the frick is this two years old and yet I only just discovered it?!
This is a crossover I never thought I needed but now I have it I can't get enough. I love the film and this came up in my searches and I'm now listening to every song I can find. Brilliant!
