  • Concrete Lion Sound System presenting a brand-new promotion 'Unification of Dub', with three youthman soundsystems representing the next generation: Ital Power, Concrete Lion and King Majesty.
    Tune played @ 0357
    Lights on in the Dance!
A heavy heavy dance at Greenworks in Bristol, with all three sounds playing to the maximum level - probably the most pressure I've heard in a venue!
Concrete Lion with pure pressure for their last tune, again not sure on the ID.

Note - I don't own any rights to the songs played and am sharing for hobby and interest purposes only

Digital rubbish! That's not reggae, roots or dub! That is not reggae sound system muzik! Electronic noise! No vibe, no soul , no instruments , nothing! That is fake & not a very good fake! You call it 'dubplate'? Real dubplate is acetate played on a turntable! To call that reggae or dub is an insult to the many REAL reggae artist who created timelless muzik in the 70s & 80s!
Call it something else because it aint dub

If you do not like the style then there is no need to comment negativity. As with all things, music and genres evolve. No one is calling this roots music but it is steppas dub. A true dubplate is an acetate disc I agree but times and definitions are changing, it is common to call a one-off or unreleased tune a dubplate. If Aba Shanti-I plays a tune on CD that he also has on acetate disc, for example when playing abroad, is that tune suddenly not a dubplate because of the format? I notice that you have commented similar negativity before, again only on a video of a young generation sound, but decided to not engage. Do you not have anything to say against veteran sounds such as Iration Steppas who have been playing digital dubs from back in the 90s?
Does the origin of the frequencies matter if they are still invoking a positive vibration and spiritual upliftment? Digital sound has been around since the middle of the 80s with the Sleng Teng riddim coming out in ‘85, I suppose you would say this is not authentic reggae either? Or how about the use of dub sirens since the 60s and 70s, yes the originals were analogue but are new sirens ‘digital rubbish’ when the sounds generated are the same? You say there is no vibe or soul but I think the many people attending dances would disagree with you. If someone has a spark of creativity but lacks the variety of real musical instruments who are you to bash on them expressing their vibration through digital means? Is it not the arrangement of the instruments, the time signatures, the beats, basslines and chops that make a tune recognisable as dub? The sounds are not pulled from thin air, they have been emulated following the real world frequencies. If it is not to your liking then you are not forced to watch my videos so please refrain from commenting your negative opinion. Bless

@@shaansinghsuri you tube provide a format to express an opinion, because my opinion is different to yours idoesn't make itt negative does it. I feel strongly about all this digital rubbish that everyone seems to be playiing whether new or old sounds, makes no difference . It's not steppers dub, reggae or roots it's some kind of techno, electrical noise of no quality whatsoever! fake! Most of this rubbish is produced in them own yard so yes its exclusive to them, quick cheap & easy . Back in the 70s & 80s when real reggae was produced many sounds including mine run dubplate sometimes for years before it was released, they were real muzik cut on real acetate, many sounds had different cuts of a same tune thats how proper sound system used to run. In my opinion there is no creativity in this digital rubbish...how can you compare that with what the great artists & musicians produced back in the day! the people promoting & producing this digital fake have made a mockery of dub muzik.
