Use retaining compound and then oil the mating surface? Doesn't make sense
Why would you put a retaining compound on the crank surface then oil on the wear sleeve surface where it contacts the crank
No kidding?!?
You cleaned all the oil off the crank and then applied the retaining compound which looked like a green sleeve retaining lock tight but then you did something that was counter productive. You applied oil to the inner part of the sleeve before installing. if your going to oil it then why clean the oil from the crank and why install the retaining compound? The retaining compound won't work if there is oil between the sleeve and the crank.

What’s the easiest way to take the seal out of the machine, is it better to remove the whole engine or drop trans? Can I get some info please
The flywheel has one offset bolt hole because there isa 3/8 nc bolt hole on the front face of it for locating #1 or #6 TDC. This has nothing to do with balancing anything..The flywheel can only be installed in one position on the crankshaft flange.
Mine has a dowel pin.
Some flywheels have weights to help balance the engine. I'm not sure if caterpillar is doing it but I know GM has been doing it for about 40 years.

Have chenged sump gasket and a bell housing gasket and a rear seal for a 500kva scania engine and my funny story is the engine cracks but doesn't run. Gone ahead and changed flywheel sensor ,nothing is going on. Help me.

No, you do not have to drain the oil before taking the seal out. The oil level should be below the seal. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
YES ALL WAYS DRAIN THE OIL WITH NEW OIL & REPLACE THE OIL FILTER AS WELL
Although it is not necessary to drain the oil for this procedure, we at Costex agree with Michael Fawcett’s answer, since it is always a good idea when servicing an engine, to do a complete oil and filter change.

Hello! Always, there is no way to get to the seal if the transmission or engine is not removed.
no need to remove the transmission, instead you remove the engine.
