I think sometimes Lilly is under appreciated. She jumps in and helps without being asked. She volunteers for jobs. She works as hard as the boys and is so much smaller. She isn't afraid to get dirty or try something new. She's smart and thinks ahead. The boys are hard workers as well. But they get rewarded with various bikes and chainsaws, ect.
Yes and she deserves a horse!
I agree 💯, she is very smart, conscientious and such a hard worker. But seems overlooked or under valued for her contributions, and there are many.
I vote Lilly should get a pony!
Lily gets horse back riding lessons which are on going and not cheap. She also gets the promise of a horse in the future. She’s too young to take care of a horse herself. The horse is a living creature (which dirt bikes aren’t!). You can park a dirt bike and forget about it. You can’t do that with horse. There will be continuous daily care necessary. This isn’t a horse family. And this is an incredibly busy family. The vehicles can all be used on the farm and are really somewhat of a necessity. As in getting kids from point a to point b quickly. The horse is really going to benefit Lily most. I don’t think she s an accomplished rider by just yet. She s been in lessons awhile but really needs a lot of experience under her belt before she should have a horse that she’s off alone on. She ll need someone keeping an eye on her still. She’s allowed to drive the side by side etc. Its not as if she cant and the boys have all the fun.
@@kathleenoverton3263 that's great she's in lessons, I wasn't aware. I grew up owning/showing horses and still ride occasionally , I'm very familiar with all that owning horses entails including the financial responsibility. 😊

I see the boys helping also, but when they get tired, they run off to do something else. Your girl stays until the project she's working on is complete! Wow!!!
(I'm referring to her tackling the refrigerator!). Even we mom's, don't like tackling refrigerators, especially in a move!

I didn’t see the boys running off. Except the 1 young toddler and the 8 yr old. He did continue to pitch in when asked abd he was keeping the young toddler busy.

TEAM LILLY!!! We have watched her grow from a very little girl into a strong conscientious big girl who speaks her mind and works so hard!!!
With summer coming, I would suggest maybe pitching a tent for the boys to experience camping and cooking at a camp site. Also, may a good time to build a "Boys" Bunk House as a project especially since you have a contractor or two or three there for the next 6 months. The boys are big enough and soon they will be thankful to have "their" space. Just some ideas for you all. Maybe a small Barndominium to house a bunk house and a horse.
If at all, fits The Budget, EXCELLENT, and I know Jonah and Josiah would thrive, but the little ones would feel left out!😂

Yes! My dad built me an open air tree house, it was so much fun to spend the night out there. I spent most of the summers in my little house, and with all the trees nearby it wouldn't be too difficult to find a place to build a small basic structure. I'm sure the boys would love to help build it, whether in the trees or on the ground, and make a small campsite around it.

Before you know it you'll be moving back into your totally remolded home.. don't forget you have your barn and yellow house that you could store other stuff inside still easy access. Can't wait to see this journey of your life. Congrats.

After losing our home to fire last spring, we are finally beginning to rebuild...About 1/3 the size. I’m finding it’s a good opportunity to think about what things we are passionate about ( and need to keep) and deciding realistically what “some day” stuff is never going to happen. We got rid of two 30 yard dumpsters of stuff post fire and can see we will be releasing even more to comfortably live in this new space. Everything that comes back in has to earn its place. Good luck to you as you wade thru this process- I’m thinking we’ll both need to give ourselves grace and remember it’s a process, not a one and done. Blessings.

Made me sad and taken aback. Incomprehensible to someone from France where real hardwood floors are premier luxury flooring. Unthinkable to anybody concerned about eliminating toxic substances off gassing in the house. Wood is 😊the most healthy non-toxic flooring besides natural stone and warm

Glad you are having a great experience with 2 men and a truck. I moved 2 weeks ago and they were the worst. They refused to take my cool chest and then was going to refuse my canned food. Finally took the canned food. They broke so many things and chipped my furniture. Refused to help bring my boxes in instead they put everything in the garage. Refused to set my bed up and I am a widow by myself. He looked at me and said I should hire someone?! I thought I did.
Movers don’t set up furniture. Did they set up furniture in the vid?
If they broke things and refused to move things from old to new place (like canned food boxes) or even just bring things IN the home-THAT is unacceptable.

I remember when 2 MEN AND A TRUCK started in Greensboro Nc and then they got 3 trucks!!!..I lived in the next town over in High Point NC..THEY have grown sooo much!!!..A great company!!..I love that cabin..can’t wait to see what u r going to do to the other home..

This brought back memories, we had to cut our box spring in half to get it upstairs.
And fold the mattress in half...needless to say when I rearranged the house when the birdies left the nest I moved my bedroom down stairs...
I know that feeling. We have moved ourselves up to the last two moves, but then it was 250 miles up there, and 200 miles back! and our two boys don't know yet. It will be a surprise unvailing when they come over for dinner one Sunday😂😂
We get to do this next month 😂
We are moving from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. It's going to be a change for sure!🎉

I know that house feels small to you... But... there are lots of people struggling to afford homes and you have 3 on your property. That 'cabin' is about the size of our place and we have 4 kids similar ages. You are blessed, and we are too!

I originally wanted my kids to watch Justin because it was so peaceful, relaxing, wholesome, and most of all, inspiring! Haven't seen that in a loooong time and now it's rare that I let the kids watch; it's so chaotic and honestly, the last thing we need in our home.

What if you got a table that the sides flip up and down. So it's just a little tight while eating but then you fold it down for the rest of the time.
I have a table like that for my sewing machine and love it.

This new style of videos are not doing it for me.... too fast paced. Especially on the videos about the homestead work. I feel like im missing things. Filming it all to cut it all out.

Now that you're moved out, you can let someone check, clean and maintain the wood boiler :D
Move the fridges to where the steel counter is. Make the counter an island in the kitchen. Or, get rid of the counter altogether. And make the table a long island in the kitchen. Dual purpose counter and eating top.

It's perfectly OK that you are not minimalists... It's not your nature. It's not meant for everybody to be the same. And clearly, you are not by nature, minimalists. (You demonstrated that when you went on your camping trip and had to have EVERYTHING! It's OK! 😊
