When I lived with my mom, she got me this game and a ds lite. My mom was very poor so we could not go to a lot of places because of money, this game made me feel a lot better any time of day :)
That's so nice to read. Reading things like this brings a tear to my eye. :') My Mum (mom?!) did something really similar. When Yoshi's Island came out, I was extremely ill for a very long time, as in close to dying. I really wanted to play Yoshi, but my family was very poor, couldn't afford much, so I never did get it. A few months later, I was able to start walking again. This one day, it was particularly sunny, so I walked out into the back garden for the first time in a very long time. There was a bag tied to the branch of a tree. It ended up that my Mum had bought Yoshi's Island for me and left it there for me to find. :')
This video had 99k views and when I clicked on it, it changed to 100k. It makes me so happy that 100,000 people have been able to enjoy this amazing song.
I was born in 1997. I'm 15 now. When I was 6 years old I got my first gameboy. I enjoyed it so much, but I got even more excited when I got my first Nintendo DS. This was one of the first games I ever played when I got it. It makes me tear up when I listen to this song. Countless hours went into this game. I wish I could relive my childhood back when video games were everything. Growing up sucks =P
I was born in 2002, and now I'm 15 years old, as well as you were 4 years ago. I understand how you feel. I also played this game for countless hours, and didn't even manage to reach 100% completion. However, hearing this many years later makes me want to go to the past and revive those feelings I had as a child. Yes, growing up sucks indeed, and you should understand that better than me now that you're 19-20 years old. God bless these video games that were part of our childhood
@@Bruno02 I agree with you ... I am 17 years old today ... and I miss my childhood terribly when I listen to this music ... many memories come back to me while listening to him ... makes sad to know that I can not do a half turn to return to my childhood and relive all these good memories ...
So I played this game back in 2010, and I didn't appreciate what turned out to be the game that defines my childhood now. A few weeks back, I went to this video and listened, I remembered the title sounded nice. This is not what I expected, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Now many people might disagree with me, but I believe this game had possibly the BEST SOUNDTRACK OF ANY YOSHI GAME. Also, I rarely get "feels", but I felt it here hard like a ton of bricks. :')
***** Can be. Nostalgia seems to start kicking in not once you've grown any number of years, but once your life has changed direction. If you last played this four years ago, and since then your life has changed a lot (like for example, you moved, you're now bullied but used to have friends, etc.), then nostalgia is a thing. All nostalgia is is remembrance and longing for times in your life that you can't replicate.
I was just getting back into this game with my best friend and we moved away two weeks later... On top of that, this reminds me of Jak and Daxter & the Precursor Legacy, the first console game I ever played.
I remember playing this on my way to grandma's house with a piplup stylus that i chewed on as i was a biter and really loved penguins. I wasn't old enough to truly play the game through, but all i cared about was having fun checking out all the enemies i had beaten before hand in some odd museum/zoo. I don't believe I've heard this tune since that day all those years ago, but today it brought tears to my eyes and memories quite dear.
Back in elementary school, recess would be in the morning, and over the playground fence was a field of green grass and further in the background colorful, green trees lined up covering the whole horizon, reaching far up into the blue sky and white puffy clouds. This song always came to my mind. I miss those days. My 8 year old imaginative self back during the DS era. Take me back.
It’s so heartwarming to read everyone’s stories of what this game meant to us all. Truly amazing how a game is able stir such emotion and bring back fond memories like it was only yesterday.
God this takes me back to summers in Pennsylvania. I didn’t have a lot of friends so I often turned to video games or books. Sometimes when I played outside I would pretend I was on an adventure with Yoshi and friends
10 years ago I started to play at that game..beautyful history and graphism I love this game so much, and hear that title theme bring me back in my young childwood....
I remember the days when I played this, the first time I got it was like the best day of my life (back then). I would play it now as a relaxing getaway from modern gaming, as in CoD and such. The music on this screen, the day I discovered it... priceless moment. I can fall asleep to this anytime, anywhere, any day. And I have, so thank you for posting this with great quality. :)
Yoshi's Island DS was exactly what us Yoshi fans needed after the prequel; with Yoshi's story and that other gba one, they just didn't give you that awesome lovable feeling Yoshi's Island gave, and Nintendo brought back the love with this game, and the creativity. : )
HEY! Thanks a lot for the advice of adding &fmt=18 to the URL, it really sounds better THANKS I did'nt know this =D And this theme song it's really awesome, I wait in the title screen just to hear it I love this game =D Thanks a lot! I can't wait for a relaxing remix of this one =D
I was listening to this while doodling yesterday. It's such a pretty, relaxing tune, though it does bring back mixed memories. I always found Yoshi's Island to be really frustrating as a kid XD. I remember there was some silly level with a waterfall that I could never get past. Good times...
Actually from what I learned Super mario World was just the localized name for the game in Japan (at least from what i can recall) Super mario World is actually called Super Mario Bros. 4 and Yoshi's Island in Japan is simply titled Super Mario: Yoshi's Island, note how the word World is not in the title? anyways this is just what I remember reading on the internet, I even saw what the soundtracks were called at Galbadia Hotel which use official video game soundtrack names as they are in Japan.
While it doesn't beat the title theme of the original SNES Yoshi's Island, it really captures the spirit of it. Definitely the best track in the game. I remember first booting it up, seeing that rotating, and waiting to see if a song will start playing. I wasn't disappointed. The homage made me smile.
While it doesn't beat the awesomeness of Yoshi's Island SNES title theme, I like how the composer replicates the calm and soothing feeling of being on an Island. The DS sequel has some pretty good music.
While I'm not a fan of Yoshi's Island DS, this Song still ranks in my Top 10 favourite DS Songs. It's so soothing. Just close your eyes and listen and let it flow through you. : )
The theme from the original definitely sold the island feel, but this perfectly captures the childlike aspect of the two games. I do think it's the better theme.
This game may not have been as good as the original on the SNES, including the music, but this title theme is one of the best title themes ever and I love it so much.
@metafruit I believe this music is only in Yoshi's Island DS... but there are other music for different Yoshi's Island series or Yoshi's game... For example my Yoshi's Island GBA title theme video, that is for the GBA version and SNES too
thanks the &fmt=18 thing is one of my friend teach me its not good to uunpatient people to wait for the title screen because you need to wait 1 minute only can hear it ^_^ anyway glad you like it ^_^
*Continued* its even worse when you're playing in a car since handheld games are ment to be played almost anywhere but with Me living in San Deigo County and family members being all over the county the constant moving around in a car really messes you up. Also I only ever beat the first boss and only got a little further before getting stuck on the harder missions because they figure forcing you to do the tasks before letting you move on and not just choosing to reach *2bcont.*
@yotsubafanfan what do you mean by "ruined"??!! as long as these 2 yoshi's islands music can brings back someone's good memories, it will never mean by "ruined"!
Many hate this game but I got if for the DS when it came out and never regretted it. It's a good game it's just that its SNES older brother trumped it in a few places. Still a great game.
look like you're are better i stucked at world 4 last stage(at the last boss stage) i just run over and the big boulder drop down i die lol anyway hope you enjoy this music ^_^
Hmm... honestly listening to this made me wonder about the future. Everything as a whole, what will people remember? What will stand through time, always in the public's conscious. Yes it is.
It's better than New Island''s for sure, but no way is it better than the SNES YI's soundtrack.
I remember leaving the title screen open when I went to bed as a kid.. And now it's on my sleep playlist over a decade later
Whenever I hear this I just get the feels. Feels if when my dad bought me the ds bundle with this game and ahhh :,)
Bruh same I remember getting this game and the next week it was my birthday and he got me Pokemon Diamond. The nostalgia is real bro.

They seriously dropped the ball with the remake smfh
Finally found this masterpiece again :') thank you! My childhood was lucky enough to grow up with this game

This used to calm me so much as a little child oh my gosh. I swear, I could almost cry remembering these fun moments.
This music is so calm makes me want to go on a beach and I would relax and I would love it
I have to agree. "Don't open your speaker volume too high" really sealed the impression.
Thank you for uploading I love this theme it brings me way back when I was the hospital as little kid for my third surgry

i have so many good memories attached to that game, i still play it every summers for childhood's sake
i remember closing the ds lid and listening to this song for so long when i was a kid
I was noodling around on the piano and I did the kazoo chorus. I heard it and my worries all went away. Memories are good of this game.
