I have crps in my left arm after operation. Sometimes my hand swells and looks red colour sometimes not but the pain is always there. Wondering if others have the same experience. My G.P in the beginning told me it was all in my head.

I am also tired of trying to explain to my friends and family why I am not better, and all the things I have tried, did not work for me. It's enough to make anyone crazy. I was in a car accident in 2011.. I've had 2 knee surgeries, multiple stints of P.T (I have little to no mobility in my left leg) & my doctor had to refer me to pain management because my pain couldn't not be controlled(& it's still not due to new regulations).. I was finally diagnosed with CRPS in 2014 shortly before I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.. Neither issue is currently being treated because I'm not working, I do not have insurance & I'm fighting for my disability.. Last month my pain doctor confirmed that both my RA & CRPS have spread throughout my body.. I'm 34, I have a permanent limp & use a cane, but to everyone else I look fine.. I've struggled with CRPS for 5 years now. I was diagnosed as a 10 year old and it was terrible. I had grown adult doctors telling me I was faking it. After 2 years I was finally diagnosed. It was absolutely the worst pain I've ever been in. I was on the highest doses of all kinds of medications. I also became extremely depressed for about 2 and a half years. I broke my fibula and ankle joint in multiple places almost 7 years ago and I was diagnosed in less than 6 weeks after telling my doctor I knew something was very wrong (!!!) After almost 7 years my ankle is still broken and the RSD has spread. I have seen more doctors than I can even count. I currently have a doctor who only wants to put in spinal stimulator and I do not! I fought medication and I feel incredibly disrespected by all of the media now wanting to take away medication. It is hard enough to get up each day and find a purpose. It makes me angry when people don't understand how people with chronic illness are treated when we go to appointments. I have no problem with it because I am not doing anything wrong but it still makes me angry! I have to pee in a cup. I have to fill out surveys. I even have to justify why I need more medication. My ankles (both even though only one has the traumatic injury) are swollen beyond belief, painful to walk, sit, or anything else. My hands are painful, my face is painful. RSD spreads. I have complained but my doctor only wants to do what he wants and I don't want that.... very frustrating! I am looking forward purchasing this for friends so they will have a better understand of what I deal with and why I may not always be as shiny as a new penny!

I'm glad it's recognized and no one is saying its all in our head. if a doctor treats you with less respect than believing you find another! Nathan Steffanic I'm so sorry that your experience with that company. I did mine through Boston Scientific. I agree that the trial moves more because it's not anchored down. However the result I got from my trial made me PETRIFIED for them to take it out. I was more bummed that due to time I'd end up waiting 2months before I'd get the permanent. In a year I've been able to be on vacation with my family & walk on the beach a slow walk but none the less I was at the beach. In a 0-100% I'd say medication brings 40ish, scs unit is 35-40%, and as for the 20-25% not being covered I just deal with. Is any one asking me I'd say ask for a different unit to try, and different electrodes. I hope that things will work for you💛🦋💛

I'm extremely concerned that I was not aware of this disease, as someone who is studying biology. I found my way here through my own curiousity. There NEEDS to be more awareness and education on this condition so we can speed up the process of finding a cure. I believe that everything in this universe is reproducible, if there was a way something can get a nervous system to malfunction, it CAN be reversed, we just haven't discovered how yet. I really hope that once we combat covid19 and get it out of the way, there will be more research and energy put into finding a cure for this disease, because it is incredibly unfair for anyone to have to endure something like this.

I am so glad someone has come out with this I developed cprs from a needle stick and it is the worst pain by far I have every experienced. Mine was on my left wrist and hand but is now effecting the other arm and causing migrane headaches. I have had three nerve blocks that caused my blood pressure to sky rocket and I could not swallow for 8 hours. all of the 3 blocks have failed and now they have to implant a spinal stimulation device in my spine to control the pain for life. At one point I asked about amputation and they said that may not help because the nerves are attached every where. So, this disease is real and horrible pain... It is not in our heads.... Try ketamine infusions. I’ve only had 2 low dose ones. It doesn’t make the pain go away but decreases the severity and has brought back a feeling of hope which I’m sure you’ve felt seems to disappear with this awful pain. Prayers for all CRPS warriors.
I was diagnosed with CRPS 4 years ago and now I am in semi-remission because it was caught relatively early with a bone scan. It is predominately in my right leg below my knee and it jumped to my left heel and toes. Still burns like hell,a nice 6/10 pain wise on a good day.

Hello. I was said I might have CRPS by my doctor. It resulted from an injury I had on my foot. I don't have constant pain. But when I try to walk, I can feel blood rush in my foot and it changes in color. Is this blood pooling a common symptom in CRPS patients?
I got CRPS in 2019 as an 11 year old after 2 surgeries and multiple sprained ankles. Took 2 years to diagnose it. In the meantime, I couldn’t do what I love best: playing sports. To this day, as a 14 year old, I still can’t play sports. I was on a lowkey volleyball team for a month last year, then had to drop out because I began having bad shoulder pain which still hasn’t healed. It started in my left leg and ankle and is now in my right arm mostly. I have been doing physical therapy and various other things since it started, none of which have really done anything. In pe class at my school, I have to watch everyone have fun doing things I would absolutely love to do but knowing that if I try to do those things, I will only be met with pain. Both physical pain and mental pain because I know I am so much more than I am and have so many skills that haven’t been shown to anyone in 3.5 years. My pe coach never believes me when I say I can’t do an activity because all the other kids are fine and healthy. It’s so tiring constantly saying “I can’t do that” when all I want to do is say “Yes, I can do that.” People constantly ask me “Why can’t you participate” in various activities and I’ve gotten so tired of explaining everything that I just tell them its a long story because nobody understands anyways. I was in an accident in 2007, broke my pelvis, sacrum, and lumbar spine. My left side from the waist down was paralyzed on impact. Unfortunately, many nerves were damaged and severed which lead to living with CRPS 2. Insane to think that I've just recently been diagnosed after 12 years. I was in a car accident that left me with a syrinx (think balloon in your spinal cord, that slowly fills up with spinal fluid, and blocks the flow of spinal fluid, while expanding and compressing nerves). I woke up feeling like I had slept wrong and it would pass. Days later the pain continued from my neck down my arm. I can only describe it as putting your arm in a fire pit and leaving it there. I couldn't sleep, concentrate, eat, every thing just stopped. I wanted to die. I am thankful my dr scheduled me for an MRI and the syrinx showed in my brain and working down my spine. My dr immediately contacted a neurosurgeon and I had brain and back surgery within 3 months. 3 months of screaming, crying, begging and pleading for it to just stop for a minute so I could catch my breath. The brain surgery was not successful and I continue to have the syrinx in my spinal cord. My CRPS diagnosis came after the surgery when I started to display the classical signs of it. I had to give up my career as a teacher since I am now unable to deal with noise, lights, and stress of any kind. I can usually feel an attack coming but sometimes I don't and it feels like I am either being stabbed repeatedly by a large knife or I am being tazed and they won't stop sending electricity into my body. This disease took everything from me but a core group of friends that stick by me. I can't ever thank them enough for helping me.
I have had this for 3 years but am very fortunate because Tramadol works for me, I take only 100mg each morning and 100mg each evening and it reduces the pain considerably. If you haven't tried it ask your doctor about trying it, you have nothing to loose. I hope this might help someone, this condition is a nightmare.
i was told i can only take ibuprofen 800mg but it does not help at all. it puts me to sleep an as soon as i wake up, im back in intense pain again. they're telling me that they don't know what can help me and that if they do surgery i might have my arm back and if i go to pain management, they might be able to help me but nobody knows. I don't want to be an experiment. i want my hand/arm back which is my dominant hand and i want to be out of this excruciating pain. i've been in pain for 6months straight now and when i ask for any medicine to help with the pain b/c the ibuprofen isn't working, I get told "I can't give you any narcotics" Which i never asked for all I said was is their anything you can do for this constant pain since the ibuprofen isn't working. my injury happened in October of 2017

Hi Garth, what does your limbs look like now? How has your disease changed through the years? I am going on 5 years and am in a different stage. The RED, SWOLLEN symptoms have gone down but have SEVERE BONE PAIN! I have more of the COLD now but still get the hot symptoms as well. It is in my ankles/feet and up my legs to my hips. My new doctor looks at me like I don't have CRPS anymore because he don't see the acute RED inflamed signs!! I am at my wits end too!! It took 10 Yeats for me to know what was wrong with my lower legs. 18 years now and blessedly only have bouts of pain now. No sugar, little stress and keeping my feet out of the cold helps the most!
I want you to know that I have a niece who suffers from RSD. She has had excellent success with a therapy called Calmare or Scrambler therapy. She went from nonfunctioning to near normal. Hope this helps.

have CRPS from breaking my right leg. I ended up having the leg amputated below the knee. We were hoping that it would take care of it. It has now spread to my stump. I understand why it is called the suicide disease. Luckily, I have a great doctor who knows what to prescribe. I am allergic to Gabapantin and lyrica so, i cannot take either. Hopefully soon, I will be having another surgery called TMR. Th doctor kind of rearranges the nerves in my leg and it should help with that and with the phantom pains that I get.

I just diagnosed with full blown CRPS/RSD yesterday, after being told it's all in my head by my husband. had friends tell me I need help because I'm crazy. Yesterday I got closure, and I feel so good spite my condition. Only now, I don't know what, who, and where to stay to mentally keep me sane knowing that it attacks my organ's. My tooth cracked nearly in half for no reason. I have short term memory, and now have COPD at the age of 52.

Unfortunately that back surgery "failed" and I had to have another, more invasive back surgery done 4 months later. I've healed from the back surgery itself but the nerve pain, numbness, hypersensitivity and constant cold feeling in my left ankle and foot have never gotten any better at all. Luckily I was already seeing a pain management doctor because of the ongoing back problems and was diagnosed fairly early but I'm still left with 'there's really nothing that can be done for you. Here's a bunch of pain pills.' I just want my old life back. I want my job back. My freedom back. My life back.

Super Natural I thought I was nuts with memory loss, but a brain Neurologist told me, it happens with CRPS, it is your body's way of protecting itself. Once the pain eases up, you will find it will get better. My husband supports me very much and that will make the difference in this. I lost all my friends, I have cats, and one that was a part of a foster group I was helping. He never left my side, I got hurt while they were with me. I did not know at the time it was CRPS. This sucks, Drs still do not try and help, they do not understand it. I have now stopped all medications, well most...I am now trying CBD oil, paste It seems to help. I am in pain all the time, burning, warm...sometimes I can not swallow or drink water...I force myself to move and walk. Yes it hurts, but what else am I to do? I have a pain pill if I really really need it and stress medications if I go off the deep end in a day....man, now try and get a Medical train dog to help me, is tough. Trying to get in home help, if I am not bed ridden all the time, you are out of luck....I have no friends now, gee, this is why they call it The Suicide Dease

Thank you for this , I have shared it on Facebook so as my friends can learn about it . My life with CRPS started in December 08 , it took 2 years for me to be diagnosed . It started in my left forearm after being forcefully grabbed by a patient at work , it wasn't meant for me , I put my arm out to protect someone else , it's now in left and right arms and both legs and feet and around back of shoulders and In my head .
I've had this horrible disease for 12 years now. I live in the US and the treatment options here for CROS are ridiculous. I'm a %100 disabled vet. I have CRPS on my right foot/leg. I've begged 7 specialists to amputate my foot.
I'm so sorry. I am 39 years old and got diagnosed with CRPS in my left ankle. It's spreaded to my right foot as well. This was a work place injury that resulted from being assaulted with a table at work. Workers comp made me wait 9 months with no treatment, before winning my award from the judge. I've had only l sympathetic nerve block in my lumbar region with the use of anesthesia. Although I needed more on a continuous level of treatment, which was agreed by two specialists. The adjuster decided that he wasn't going to approve my treatment, but send me to QME because he thinks I'm faking my injury and pain. Its 3am and I. Any sleep because of the burning, shocking, tingling, throbbing pain. This is horrible.

Seeing that little kid cry in the first shot made me start crying. Poor baby. I have trouble believing in god when I see things like this. The fact that even a child can get this, from a minor injury that can happen easily.
I have had CRPS for over 2 years. I suffer type 2 with peripheral nerve damage from an assault. It caused me to lose everything...there is no cure. I spent a year and a half without any use at all of my right hand, and when the pain block treatments are late,m my life goes down the toilet quickly

They use the McGill pain scale to give an indication of the level of pain patients with CRPS go through every single day. I am in year ten of this, took me 17 doctors to find someone who would agree with my doctor's diagnosis because most physicians do not even know what this is. Most misdiagnose CRPS as severe depression, phantom pain, disbelief, but the pain is real. It is there every day. I cannot thank Charles enough for bringing this out into the open. He is a true hero to many of us who suffer daily. The people you see in the film, although suffering, are able to speak and present as "normal", and that is why there are so many doctors that just don't get it. Almost every person I have spoke to have all said that they were misdiagnosed. This scares the hell out of me because in just the amount of patients I know that have this, there are thousands more that have gone without diagnosis and proper treatment. We need to get the word out there. We need to make the world aware of this monster so that it can be cured. Most importantly, we need to be heard and taken seriously for the condition we suffer from. Most people with CRPS do not want to be seen, filmed, watched while they are in that state of horror where they cannot speak, cannot be still, but just writhe in pain and scream and cry. The muscles cramp so bad that you cannot control them, the pain feels like being hooked up to 220 constantly with the electricity running through your muscles and nerves. It doesn't stop. I have been on many medications, and someone mentioned Tramadol in one of the comments; it worked for a couple months for better control with me, but then caused severe swelling, redness, burning pain, itching, and a multitude of other side effects so we switched to another medication. Not everything is going to work for everyone. I had spinal injections which left me paralyzed for months. Every day I thank God that I was able to get out of that chair and be able to move again. This presents differently in every patient. That is one of the reasons it is so hard to diagnose. There have been breakthroughs in treatment. If you can catch this within the first 3 months, and get on a regime of Vitamin C, 1000 mg morning and night for three months, this can be prevented from happening. If you are between one and three years of being diagnosed and get on vitamin C, CRPS can be put into complete and permanent remission. Unfortunately, if you have been diagnosed for longer than three years, they are still working on it, but haven't got the answers yet. The best advice I can give anyone is that if you hurt yourself, even something you feel is insignificant, start taking vitamin C. Do 500 mg morning and night instead of 1000 mg morning and night, but don't wait. Right now this is the only way to put this monster in a cage and keep it there. Be proactive in your own treatment. Be aware of when you are hurt, don't let people tell you that you are crazy, depressed or anything else when you say you are hurting.

It took 5 years for my CRPS diagnosis because nobody knew what I had and why! Then I met a doctor who told me go home and read up on RSD! Then call and make an appointment if this is what is happening to you! He got it in 10 minutes after I told him what was wrong that after years of other doctors getting it wrong and one major surgery that was all wrong... double whammy! My family has no clue of my pain unless it's a headache! CRPS is in my right arm-hand (crippled like the pictures) and left leg-ankle-foot. The wind sets off pain so bad that I have no word(s) but to just cry! I wear no long sleeves of any kind! I only wear short that do not touch my skin and if need a jackets/ blouse/shirt has only one sleeve (I cut off the right sleeve) sometimes the pants has one long leg ( bc I cut it off the left). I have had my hair fall out or grow back thicker fall out again, rapid nails grow, no eyelashes or eyebrow then they grow thicker and fall out again! The worse is there is no off switch for this pain! I have tried blocks injection (very painful, scary bc you can die or become paralyzed) and medications nothing works! Going on 13 yrs (07/2020) Wow!!! I am no longer happy , fun or busy like before this nightmare! I stay inside my house and to myself! I've had CRPS for 9 yrs 6 months. It started cin left arm and has spread to most of my body. I cabn't take showers the water spraying feels like being slashed with tiny knives. Then if the room isn't warmer than 75 or so the air touching the skin feels like having a really bad sunburn and everywhere air touches skin feels like sand is being rubbed hard. Remember when you skinned a knee and your mom was going to spray anti bacterial or something with alcohol? I was in a car accident in 2011.. I've had 2 knee surgeries, multiple stints of P.T (I have little to no mobility in my left leg) & my doctor had to refer me to pain management because my pain couldn't not be controlled(& it's still not due to new regulations).. I was finally diagnosed with CRPS in 2014 shortly before I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.. Neither issue is currently being treated because I'm not working, I do not have insurance & I'm fighting for my disability.. Last month my pain doctor confirmed that both my RA & CRPS have spread throughout my body.. I'm 34, I have a permanent limp & use a cane, but to everyone else I look fine.. I've struggled with CRPS for 5 years now. I was diagnosed as a 10 year old and it was terrible. I had grown adult doctors telling me I was faking it. After 2 years I was finally diagnosed. It was absolutely the worst pain I've ever been in. I was on the highest doses of all kinds of medications. I also became extremely depressed for about 2 and a half years. I broke my fibula and ankle joint in multiple places almost 7 years ago and I was diagnosed in less than 6 weeks after telling my doctor I knew something was very wrong (!!!)

I fought medication and I feel incredibly disrespected by all of the media now wanting to take away medication. It is hard enough to get up each day and find a purpose.
It makes me angry when people don't understand how people with chronic illness are treated when we go to appointments. I have no problem with it because I am not doing anything wrong but it still makes me angry! I have to pee in a cup. I have to fill out surveys. I even have to justify why I need more medication. My ankles (both even though only one has the traumatic injury) are swollen beyond belief, painful to walk, sit, or anything else. My hands are painful, my face is painful. RSD spreads. I have complained but my doctor only wants to do what he wants and I don't want that.... very frustrating!
I am looking forward purchasing this for friends so they will have a better understand of what I deal with and why I may not always be as shiny as a new penny!

I'm glad it's recognized and no one is saying its all in our head. if a doctor treats you with less respect than believing you find another! Nathan Steffanic I'm so sorry that your experience with that company. I did mine through Boston Scientific. I agree that the trial moves more because it's not anchored down. However the result I got from my trial made me PETRIFIED for them to take it out. I was more bummed that due to time I'd end up waiting 2months before I'd get the permanent. In a year I've been able to be on vacation with my family & walk on the beach a slow walk but none the less I was at the beach. In a 0-100% I'd say medication brings 40ish, scs unit is 35-40%, and as for the 20-25% not being covered I just deal with. Is any one asking me I'd say ask for a different unit to try, and different electrodes. I hope that things will work for you💛🦋💛

I'm extremely concerned that I was not aware of this disease, as someone who is studying biology. I found my way here through my own curiousity. There NEEDS to be more awareness and education on this condition so we can speed up the process of finding a cure. I believe that everything in this universe is reproducible, if there was a way something can get a nervous system to malfunction, it CAN be reversed, we just haven't discovered how yet. I really hope that once we combat covid19 and get it out of the way, there will be more research and energy put into finding a cure for this disease, because it is incredibly unfair for anyone to have to endure something like this.

I am so glad someone has come out with this I developed cprs from a needle stick and it is the worst pain by far I have every experienced. Mine was on my left wrist and hand but is now effecting the other arm and causing migrane headaches. I have had three nerve blocks that caused my blood pressure to sky rocket and I could not swallow for 8 hours. all of the 3 blocks have failed and now they have to implant a spinal stimulation device in my spine to control the pain for life. At one point I asked about amputation and they said that may not help because the nerves are attached every where. So, this disease is real and horrible pain... It is not in our heads....

Try ketamine infusions. I’ve only had 2 low dose ones. It doesn’t make the pain go away but decreases the severity and has brought back a feeling of hope which I’m sure you’ve felt seems to disappear with this awful pain. Prayers for all CRPS warriors.
I was diagnosed with CRPS 4 years ago and now I am in semi-remission because it was caught relatively early with a bone scan. It is predominately in my right leg below my knee and it jumped to my left heel and toes. Still burns like hell,a nice 6/10 pain wise on a good day.

Hello. I was said I might have CRPS by my doctor. It resulted from an injury I had on my foot. I don't have constant pain. But when I try to walk, I can feel blood rush in my foot and it changes in color. Is this blood pooling a common symptom in CRPS patients?
I was diagnosed 4 years ago, I have gone from a fun, loving, kind, giving, beautiful woman, to a “MISERABLE CU -T”
I got CRPS in 2019 as an 11 year old after 2 surgeries and multiple sprained ankles. Took 2 years to diagnose it. In the meantime, I couldn’t do what I love best: playing sports. To this day, as a 14 year old, I still can’t play sports. I was on a lowkey volleyball team for a month last year, then had to drop out because I began having bad shoulder pain which still hasn’t healed. It started in my left leg and ankle and is now in my right arm mostly. I have been doing physical therapy and various other things since it started, none of which have really done anything. In pe class at my school, I have to watch everyone have fun doing things I would absolutely love to do but knowing that if I try to do those things, I will only be met with pain. Both physical pain and mental pain because I know I am so much more than I am and have so many skills that haven’t been shown to anyone in 3.5 years. My pe coach never believes me when I say I can’t do an activity because all the other kids are fine and healthy. It’s so tiring constantly saying “I can’t do that” when all I want to do is say “Yes, I can do that.” People constantly ask me “Why can’t you participate” in various activities and I’ve gotten so tired of explaining everything that I just tell them its a long story because nobody understands anyways. Reading these comments from other people has made me feel a little less alone. Stay strong yall
I was in an accident in 2007, broke my pelvis, sacrum, and lumbar spine. My left side from the waist down was paralyzed on impact. Unfortunately, many nerves were damaged and severed which lead to living with CRPS 2. Insane to think that I've just recently been diagnosed after 12 years. Never gave myself a chance to rest properly, so it does get better once you've researched and understand the disease better. 🥰

I wanted my arm cut off my hand is cold my arm is swollen I sweat so bad on my left side. I was in a car accident that left me with a syrinx (think balloon in your spinal cord, that slowly fills up with spinal fluid, and blocks the flow of spinal fluid, while expanding and compressing nerves). I woke up feeling like I had slept wrong and it would pass. Days later the pain continued from my neck down my arm. I can only describe it as putting your arm in a fire pit and leaving it there. I couldn't sleep, concentrate, eat, every thing just stopped. I wanted to die. I am thankful my dr scheduled me for an MRI and the syrinx showed in my brain and working down my spine. My dr immediately contacted a neurosurgeon and I had brain and back surgery within 3 months. 3 months of screaming, crying, begging and pleading for it to just stop for a minute so I could catch my breath. The brain surgery was not successful and I continue to have the syrinx in my spinal cord. My CRPS diagnosis came after the surgery when I started to display the classical signs of it. I had to give up my career as a teacher since I am now unable to deal with noise, lights, and stress of any kind. I can usually feel an attack coming but sometimes I don't and it feels like I am either being stabbed repeatedly by a large knife or I am being tazed and they won't stop sending electricity into my body. This disease took everything from me but a core group of friends that stick by me. I can't ever thank them enough for helping me.
I have had this for 3 years but am very fortunate because Tramadol works for me, I take only 100mg each morning and 100mg each evening and it reduces the pain considerably. If you haven't tried it ask your doctor about trying it, you have nothing to loose. I hope this might help someone, this condition is a nightmare.
i was told i can only take ibuprofen 800mg but it does not help at all. it puts me to sleep an as soon as i wake up, im back in intense pain again. they're telling me that they don't know what can help me and that if they do surgery i might have my arm back and if i go to pain management, they might be able to help me but nobody knows. I don't want to be an experiment. i want my hand/arm back which is my dominant hand and i want to be out of this excruciating pain. i've been in pain for 6months straight now and when i ask for any medicine to help with the pain b/c the ibuprofen isn't working, I get told "I can't give you any narcotics" Which i never asked for all I said was is their anything you can do for this constant pain since the ibuprofen isn't working. my injury happened in October of 2017

Hi Garth, what does your limbs look like now? How has your disease changed through the years? I am going on 5 years and am in a different stage. The RED, SWOLLEN symptoms have gone down but have SEVERE BONE PAIN! I have more of the COLD now but still get the hot symptoms as well. It is in my ankles/feet and up my legs to my hips. My new doctor looks at me like I don't have CRPS anymore because he don't see the acute RED inflamed signs!! I am at my wits end too!! It took 10 Yeats for me to know what was wrong with my lower legs. 18 years now and blessedly only have bouts of pain now. No sugar, little stress and keeping my feet out of the cold helps the most!
I want you to know that I have a niece who suffers from RSD. She has had excellent success with a therapy called Calmare or Scrambler therapy. She went from nonfunctioning to near normal. Hope this helps.

have CRPS from breaking my right leg. I ended up having the leg amputated below the knee. We were hoping that it would take care of it. It has now spread to my stump. I understand why it is called the suicide disease. Luckily, I have a great doctor who knows what to prescribe. I am allergic to Gabapantin and lyrica so, i cannot take either. Hopefully soon, I will be having another surgery called TMR. Th doctor kind of rearranges the nerves in my leg and it should help with that and with the phantom pains that I get.

Thank you for this , I have shared it on Facebook so as my friends can learn about it . My life with CRPS started in December 08 , it took 2 years for me to be diagnosed . It started in my left forearm after being forcefully grabbed by a patient at work , it wasn't meant for me , I put my arm out to protect someone else , it's now in left and right arms and both legs and feet and around back of shoulders and In my head .

I've had this horrible disease for 12 years now. I live in the US and the treatment options here for CROS are ridiculous. I'm a %100 disabled vet. I have CRPS on my right foot/leg. I've begged 7 specialists to amputate my foot.
I'm so sorry. I am 39 years old and got diagnosed with CRPS in my left ankle. It's spreaded to my right foot as well. This was a work place injury that resulted from being assaulted with a table at work. Workers comp made me wait 9 months with no treatment, before winning my award from the judge. I've had only l sympathetic nerve block in my lumbar region with the use of anesthesia. Although I needed more on a continuous level of treatment, which was agreed by two specialists. The adjuster decided that he wasn't going to approve my treatment, but send me to QME because he thinks I'm faking my injury and pain. Its 3am and I. Any sleep because of the burning, shocking, tingling, throbbing pain. This is horrible.

They use the McGill pain scale to give an indication of the level of pain patients with CRPS go through every single day. I am in year ten of this, took me 17 doctors to find someone who would agree with my doctor's diagnosis because most physicians do not even know what this is. Most misdiagnose CRPS as severe depression, phantom pain, disbelief, but the pain is real. It is there every day. I cannot thank Charles enough for bringing this out into the open. He is a true hero to many of us who suffer daily. The people you see in the film, although suffering, are able to speak and present as "normal", and that is why there are so many doctors that just don't get it. Almost every person I have spoke to have all said that they were misdiagnosed. This scares the hell out of me because in just the amount of patients I know that have this, there are thousands more that have gone without diagnosis and proper treatment. We need to get the word out there. We need to make the world aware of this monster so that it can be cured. Most importantly, we need to be heard and taken seriously for the condition we suffer from. Most people with CRPS do not want to be seen, filmed, watched while they are in that state of horror where they cannot speak, cannot be still, but just writhe in pain and scream and cry. The muscles cramp so bad that you cannot control them, the pain feels like being hooked up to 220 constantly with the electricity running through your muscles and nerves. It doesn't stop. I have been on many medications, and someone mentioned Tramadol in one of the comments; it worked for a couple months for better control with me, but then caused severe swelling, redness, burning pain, itching, and a multitude of other side effects so we switched to another medication. Not everything is going to work for everyone. I had spinal injections which left me paralyzed for months. Every day I thank God that I was able to get out of that chair and be able to move again. This presents differently in every patient. That is one of the reasons it is so hard to diagnose. There have been breakthroughs in treatment. If you can catch this within the first 3 months, and get on a regime of Vitamin C, 1000 mg morning and night for three months, this can be prevented from happening. If you are between one and three years of being diagnosed and get on vitamin C, CRPS can be put into complete and permanent remission. Unfortunately, if you have been diagnosed for longer than three years, they are still working on it, but haven't got the answers yet. The best advice I can give anyone is that if you hurt yourself, even something you feel is insignificant, start taking vitamin C. It took 5 years for my CRPS diagnosis because nobody knew what I had and why! Then I met a doctor who told me go home and read up on RSD! Then call and make an appointment if this is what is happening to you! He got it in 10 minutes after I told him what was wrong that after years of other doctors getting it wrong and one major surgery that was all wrong... double whammy! My family has no clue of my pain unless it's a headache! CRPS is in my right arm-hand (crippled like the pictures) and left leg-ankle-foot. The wind sets off pain so bad that I have no word(s) but to just cry! I wear no long sleeves of any kind! I only wear short that do not touch my skin and if need a jackets/ blouse/shirt has only one sleeve (I cut off the right sleeve) sometimes the pants has one long leg ( bc I cut it off the left). I have had my hair fall out or grow back thicker fall out again, rapid nails grow, no eyelashes or eyebrow then they grow thicker and fall out again! The worse is there is no off switch for this pain! I have tried blocks injection (very painful, scary bc you can die or become paralyzed) and medications nothing works! Going on 13 yrs (07/2020) Wow!!! I am no longer happy , fun or busy like before this nightmare! I stay inside my house and to myself! I hope someone finds a cure for others for this life sapping disease! I do veggie smoothies and stay away from foods that cause pain... you will be surprise! Read up on foods that help you with pain... what to eat or not to eat! Listen to music and laugh it helps to change you mind from the pain! I have started the cramping in both! So I don't travel far! I have EDS CRPS POTS and I am 11 and I have CRPS for 3 year it is so so pain full I have had to deal with nonstop pain and I don't have as many friends as I used to because of it have lots so many friends because they don't believe that it true and distractions help me be distracted from my pain since to neurological disease and I have type one from doing a back handsprang and I still do dance it's kind of like therapy and I don't want to let my CRPS ,POTS ,and EDS take over my life so I fight back and I do what I did before I had CRPS dancing 17 is like letting your feelings all go and I really hope that I could spread more awareness for all three of those things
