Here are the settings for the null test. Let me know how you get on if you give it a go :) - Curve type: Soft Sine - High Quality: OFF (it is on by default) - Color: OFF (or ON with Base and Depth at 0) - Drive: 0dB - Output: -0.31dB
I thought that was hilarious too. I hate ilok so much. I own Inflator but use other tools most the time because of ilok. I don't mind using ilok with companies like Soundtoys who allow you to register the license to your hard drive... But having to buy dongles or use ilok cloud feels like stone age caveman shit.
That's just crazy! Only difference was I had to set my Saturator to -.42db to get it to null the tracks ( obviously depends on the source material). Thanks for the great videos!
I would love a series of fx recreated with stock fx, i would love fx such as tube compression, tube eq, and tube distortion, as i think these Are missing, maybe a plate reverb too. And how about assymetric distortion? Anyways feel free to comment if this allready is in ableton. But i just havnet gotten around to make ableton stock eq sound like a pultec, or compression sound like 2A-LA Compressor. Or saturator to sound like hs-g2. All these fx take allot of cpu and I would love to use stock fx here. Also do anyone know how to hard clip in Ableton stock? Is it as simple has using hard curve in saturator with soft clip?
Absolutely! Pros use the inflator on the master bus all the time so saturator would work just as well. Best to use it near the start of the chain and use it subtly (as with anything on the master chain!)
Okay, firstly: Whoa! Secondly: What's the music playing? It sounds like a blend between "Funky Destination" and "Gramatik" I'd really love to know the artist behind it! Thank you!
The difference is miniscule, but detectable. The Inflator does seem to add some body and glue to the low end. Wouldn't spend the money on it just for that, but it does have a slightly warmer tone.
Wouldn’t an effect test need the same amount of drive pushed in the two plug-ins? Sure both have 0 drive but that’s the part of both plug-ins that gives more perceived loudest. I would try +4 in drive for both then null test. The plug-in is almost considered off at 0 drive.

I give so much respect to this, because in saturator u can dial in more.
that's actually hilariously simple XD I was gearing up to pull out a ton of multiband processors and saturators
Amazing! Thank you for your thoughtful presentation and sharing this tip!
I always thought there was something special about that soft sine preset. It just sounds so damn good on everything
same here! was using it on everything and it always gives a lot to the sound
The iLok bit made me laugh out loud 😅
Yeah it made me insanely satisfied I would love to smash iLok with a hammer but fortunately I boycott them

once more, you still giving us GEMS
Holy Shizzle, this is eye opener!
Just checked out the inflator as it‘s currently on sale. Gotta love your stock plugins
Very interesting. I own the sonnox inflator and love it and also use that mode of abletons saturator.
Whaaaaaaat?! Mind blown. Gonna test this out. I almost bought the damn thing
Love to hear it! Let me know how you get on :)
@@FlowProdOfficial downloaded the free trial of inflator and phase cancelation confirmed. Well played sir
@@Bakobiibizo Nice one!
@@FlowProdOfficialhey brotha is this meaning I can do anything with Saturator that Oxford Inflator is revered for?
@@FlowProdOfficialoh I will check out the Melda version too. I saw a video about the Wave Shaper
Hey, that’s me in the video!!! 😂
Anyway, great job 🤝
As a third world music production newbie I'm very grateful!!
This is brilliant!
This video is awesome. Subscribed inmediatly.
¡Love your videos! Definitely one of the best tutorials I’ve seen in a while
Thank you so much!

Also do anyone know how to hard clip in Ableton stock?
Is it as simple has using hard curve in saturator with soft clip?
Haha 2 clicks away from a default saturator saves you a hundred bucks. You're putting sonnex out of business in style :)
Impressive snake oil debunking :)
Effect in Inflator is 100% what knob in saturator I change if Inflator was 50% for example..
DRY WET?
Most important question. I rarely use inflator at 100%
Isn’t the effect just a wet mix value on Oxford inflator?
Could you test it with colour off? Want to know if it makes it more or less similar.
Good question. Base and Depth are at 0 so even though "Color" is enabled in this test it's effectively disabled.
@@FlowProdOfficial oh Okey thanks!
IS THE UTILITY PLUGIN NEXT IN LINE THERE FOR A REASON .THANKS
I have Oxford, but Doing this just to avoid iLok 💀💀
Is it better with high quality on?
So is the output the level of limiting. Is it left at 100oer cent or up and down to taste.
The "output" parameter is just a volume control after saturation. It's like placing a utility after the saturator.
What IS this fabulous song??
Ha, thanks! It's just a beat I rustled up in the style of song "Things That Make You Go Hmmmm…", it seemed fitting!
Only took my 17 seconds of watching this video to subscirbe!
🙏
This s great. Would you put this across the master bus btw? Would it interfere with a professional mastering process?
Absolutely! Pros use the inflator on the master bus all the time so saturator would work just as well. Best to use it near the start of the chain and use it subtly (as with anything on the master chain!)
@@FlowProdOfficial I would also not soft clip, as i hit that right before the limiter.
do you ever turn on the soft clip? or is that not needed in this case?
Sure you can. It just acts like a limiter

No, it's been proven to just be a clipper.
@@erinburke9711 Also a gloss coat of snake oil for sheen.
What break did you use for that track?
It was based around KSHMR_Break_Beat_Loop_03_128 in Sounds of KSHMR Vol. 3
@@FlowProdOfficial Thanks for the info. For some weird reason (I'm guessing licensing?) that one loop is missing from the Splice pack.
@@mister_bleeps woah!
god amongst men
great video as always! now please, alternative to Waves Vocal Rider? :).
Your own automation on Utility's gain.
😯

I still hear an obvious difference at 0 drive
Every setting nulls with bypass enabled😅
Inflator boosts the input as much as 6 dB as you turn up "Effect".
Damn the video is not available anymore from Barrasca.
Ah that's a shame! Thanks for letting me know I'll update the video description
do you still have the URL?
@@ricardonoriega2569 I think this is the (now broken) URL: th-cam.com/video/STzv00fM2pY/w-d-xo.html
@@FlowProdOfficial Thanks!
Did they silence him?
What song is this?
It's a 90s-style hip-hop beat in the style of C+C Music Factory I made for this video
@@FlowProdOfficial it's pretty great
I hate iLok 😡
