I have a low tolerance for bad build quality and if I had a Tesla with those issues I would not consider them again in the future. Especially when it is premium brand and pricing. I would have expected better. I had an Italian car once and despite their reputation it was not as bad as that. I'm sure Tesla's quality has improved though.

I'm sure Tesla's quality has improved though. What are you basing that on?

I’d be really interested in these once they get down to $25,000 and qualify for the $4000 rebate.

Forget the rebate, demand a quality car, you deserve it!

@@samvocella the teslas are definitely the most refined and reliable electric vehicles on sale, but I know what you mean; they’re definitely not luxury cars

Yeah, they (Tesla Model 3's) definitely seem more like $25-$30k level cars in terms of overall quality to me (especially the interiors). I'm gonna guess the majority of the cost for them comes from the technology.

We still have it! It's my wife's daily and I drive it as well. In fact I just sent in the paperwork and payment today(!) to purchase the car from Mazda Financial as our lease is ending this month.

Man you spend more time in Tesla's service center than driving the car itself

Seriously!! I hope the rate of issues slows way down after this haha

Battery degradation sounds about right for other similar AWD Model 3s

Woah. You've been very reasonable about all that. At only 20,000 miles none of that should be happening or maybe, MAYBE like, one of those things. And aside from the sheer number of issues, the most concerning part was double stick tape and a sharpie to fix a weather stripping piece. NUTS.

Great stuff James. Congrats. Would love to hear about the purchase process, availability, price, warranty, etc. and looking forward to hearing about your manual.

I like the redesign 2021+ aero caps!

I put them on -- first thing I did when I got the car. Updated aero caps look much better, IMO! :)

These are problems that even my $18K Honda Fit has never had. Tesla are hot garbage for the amount of money they cost.

I know you said some of the problems aren't a big deal, but .......... How much did you pay for the car ?!?! IT'S ALL A BIG DEAL!!!!
Should have never happened !!! In my opinion, no car should have that many problems at what they cost.

this is a 2020 model or maybe even before. We got a 2023 model 3, 0 issues. The older ones def had issues.

Wow, I have heard of some bad QC and build issues with Teslas from several owners before. I guess they get amplified when you buy them used.
Edited to add: I read that the Model Y was deliberately designed the way that it was in order to be able to use many of the same parts as the Model 3. To make it easier to have parts in stock to repair either vehicle. That could explain the tray replacement issue in your video.

My 2019 P3D made the noises and in preconditioning it was loud just as your recording. If you didn't drive performance models, then I can understand why you feel these noises are out of the ordinary.
