    wow so peaceful to be in the middle of nowhere. That's a great tent setup you have. You are perfectly prepared and I'm glad it stayed dry during the rain. This is an awesome adventure!

    Ooh those Bothie’s are a tad creepy I would have to agree, I was sort of anxious when you opened the door. Great idea though. I’m craving fish and chips now haha. Great video, I look forward to the next one Snowy 😊👏⛰ P.S those clouds lifting as you walked by was beautiful 😍

    Enjoying the Pennine vids snowy , a great adventure ! Ive got viewranger found it really good , saved me once so far from complete disorientation when out on the moors , saved me hours ! 🙂 , couple months ago i got a smd deschutes off ebay ! Its alot roomier and sturdier than i was perhaps expecting , just gotta man up abit and go camping with it, i think it will be the future for summer camping ! 🤣👍

      That's great! View Ranger really helped me out last year on the Cape Wrath trail so I will never go anywhere without it now. Try the SMD out I'm sure it'll be great!👍🍻

    Teesdale to Dufton was my favourite stretch, some spectacular scenery. Shame you didn't get to see High Cup Nick in all it's glory, it took my breath away. I had similar weather on Cross Fell, must be a regular occurrence. Looking forward to the next installment. Thanks for sharing. Atb Shaun

    That's one hard bit going up over them fells. I stayed in Greg's hut that's the highest bothy in the UK. I was lucky enough second time get perfect weather up there but first time when did the Pennine way the weather was very bad up there. The fish and chips will be well deserved mate. Thanks for another fantastic video. Richard

    What a shame you didn't get to see High Cup, Snowy! It was probably my favourite view of the Pennine Way. After the fantastic views I had of it, I saw precisely nothing the following day on the high fells, so at least you had those views to some degree. When I passed by the radar dome on Great Dun Fell, I couldn't actually see it until I was right along side it. I agree with you about bothies, I find them creepy and will only use them if really necessary. Nice video! Gary.

    • @snowymatrix
      @snowymatrix  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Gary, I'll have to go back one day to see High Cup! I was genuinely supprised to see the dome as I don't really read the guide book very closely out on the trail. I tend to look at it in the tent after I have finished the day's route! Finding evil spirits in bothies is a danger but so are the mice and rats ready and willing to chew through an expensive rucksack to get at the food!👍😁

    I bought a Lanshan 1 last year and for 90 quid it's great value! 3 season, but can't say it'll be any good in a proper storm. Well made though for the price with tape sealed seams. Six Moon Designs make very impressive lightweight tents, and I've a friend who owns one like yours. Enjoyed this video as always. Cheers 👍

    • @snowymatrix
      @snowymatrix  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For light weight thru walking activities it's really good but I don't have the confidence to put it anywhere like I do with my nuke proof Tera Nova Polar Lite Micro. I've carried that no problems on the Hebridean Way 160 miles and on the Great Glen Way and 4 West Highland Ways!🍺 It's more than twice the weight of the SMDLS but still only 1.7 kg which for a proper 4 season tunnel backpacking tent is brilliant 👍🍺

    • @wanderingit_
      @wanderingit_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snowymatrix yeah Tera Nova make good tents - even if you have to finish them off yourself 😁 1.7kg is still nothing and actually seems underweight for 4 seasons. Cheers

  • @WyeExplorer
    @WyeExplorer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yeah exactly Snowy, why ramble into town late when you can rest in the wild? It's like, 'here will do.' And the tent there? I'm so glad it performed. I'm vindicated for talking about it for the past few years. I must say you chuckled more than you did cuss. In fact you didn't cuss at all. Your humor was a welcome spirit along this trail mist and all. Good going. Another entertaining installment. Mark

    • @snowymatrix
      @snowymatrix  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wish I'd seen your channel earlier Mark then I would have bought it sooner!! Yeah, I always laugh and keep it positive out on the trail! There was also a good amount of fish and chips eaten on trail so my mood was super high all the way😁👍🍻🙂

    Been going to Low and High Force since I was a kid, so I recognize every step of that hike. The tent looked idea to be honest and you have given it a real good testing. Misty old day stopped the great views you would have had there great to see it cleared for you over Cross Fell. The gravel road made it an easy track to follow but I hope you made it for the fish n chips! Cheers Alan

    Nice one Snowy, I'm really glad to hear you rate the SMD Lunar Solo as I'm going to take mine on the CWT. Don't mind an airy shelter as I'm used to my Trailstar tarp.
    How do you find the Anker solar charger? Does it draw in enough power and does it have to be sunny?
    Nice bothy that, I'd doss in that for the night.

      I'll copy a paste an answer I gave Impla on the Trail when he asked the same question a few days ago!
      Last year on the Cape Wrath trail with cloudy daylight I was able to get enough juice to charge my GoPro and Samsung S9 Plus. This year with sunlight It was amazing. In fact, I was using it the last week of the walk to just charge my devices on the go and keep them topped up.
