Great video Skippy. FYI.. I have found 5 traders on this map. There is one near your first on across the water that you can get to from that first city you found. One in the bottom left corner of map and one down that road you were on with all the dogs. So at least you got two in a safe area😉. I ended up digging to the island and over to that first city. Well the good news is that the game doesn't spawn you into the wastelands any more because that's where the dogs hang out. The hub city area has that green fog .. so if you see green fog run away. I found building tree platforms is an awesome night defense. And yucka and snowberry berries works. Collect as many tin cans before you get a cooking pot.
Skippy, don't forget to go through the containers at the trader. You can usually find some good clothing and gear sometimes. Great video, keep up the good work.
Hey skippy not sure if you know but iron armor has a very high negative insulation. Just a heads up for the next time you go into the snow biome, and that is also part of the reason you kept freezing.
powercell101 They removed insulation stats from iron and military armor after update 10 I believe. I tried to use it to COOL DOWN and nothing happened!
Hey, I have had this happen... it is a glitch ( the temperature dropping) you need to quit and power off the ps4 to clear the cache. It's the decline from the ambient temperature of the snow biome locked up as a run away effect. . Fun video in the end. You are very entertaining.

Hey Skippy umm your freezing constantly is a glitch notice wasn't raining and still said your still wet only way to get dry from the winter biom is to get inside away from all windows only then does it actually dry you until you enter the winter biom again ...it's just the snow biom that does it...I've actually died in desert from passing through a snow biom and didn't pay attention to the temp thinking I'd get warm

I spawned in the wasteland on my last 2 new games but somehow managed to avoid dogs. In my last game it took 2 days to get out of the wasteland, no dogs, then I get into the plains and killed immediately by 3 dogs. I've given up thinking I have a clue how to play this game, I just go for it and expect nothing. I'm not great at it, I die a lot, and I'm not much of a builder, but I love it all the same.
Same I love the game...but when I first tried the game by myself I somehow ran into two dogs on day 1 and a cop because I ran into one of the main cities trying to go for the hub city. I was basically trying to copy the same thing Skippy did but found out random gen maps are not the same lol. I love the game I'm just trying too hard to be as good as skippy...it's his videos that make me want to play the game more
those aren't real mods. they are dlc masquerading as mods. (whole rant there) It would be nice, but I highly doubt we'll get true unabashed mods that aren't made with the "mod" tools from the dev.

I think you had the same glitch I had. You get wet but never dry. After you got wet you stayed at 47% wetness. I had to log out and back in to get rid of that glitch.

My trick is to load up on snow berries and yucka. .. eat 3 snow berries slowly then one yucka. 150 snow berries and 50 yucka can last almost three days.

Darlene Roy there's a possibility it may not glitch, or he could probably load a backup save from prior to his excursion, so it's not like he definitely did all of that for nothing. After going through all of this early in my own play through, the only reason why I didn't restart is because I found 2 more traders within a half hour in game jog from each other, and both on the south side of a wasteland line that cuts off a third of my map, while the forth was north of the line.

just select new world and click start , and try not to die, everything will fall in place.
In what way does it not pan out? Do you starve, get killed, get infected what in particular?

no, the dogs are fine. they are supposed to be a scary mob. they were fixed with this update. It was because they had a huge reach (about 4 blocks)
There is a glitch I have ran into which seems you had...your 47% wet at all times...thats why your freezing constantly. You won't dry.
