Every moment in his life after he received that MoH, he couldn't not turn around without looking back at those two fellow marine who was assigned to protect him back then and was killed and he vow that medal he wore is for them, their sacrifice. Wherever you are Sir, hope you will be against with your fellow marine in heaven.
British army veteran commenting, 1 man 6 flamethrowers, hats off eye's front! There should have been two coffin's one for the hero, one for his balls. Outstanding 💂
I am dying here, so true he must have had problems getting around with the size balls he had. The Men carrying his casket would need hydraulic assistance because of the weight!!🤣🤣
Hershel would've hated the way Nancy described his heroics. In Woody's own words, the true heroes are the 2 marines that gave their life protecting him as he was taking out enemy bunkers.
Nice to see a few young people who appreciate the selfless service of their fathers, grand fathers and even great grand fathers. Too many today couldn't replicate what they did.
Only 1% of the population serves in the military. Even in the world wars, Korea, and Vietnam, the vast majority of people in our country did not serve. Today we have young people doing the very same things as back then. Stop trying to do the “back in my day” thing. I’ve met so many Gen Z, millennials, etc who serve with honor and distinction. Maybe read the Medal of Honor citations that have been written over the last decade or two and learn about the great young people who continue to protect our country.
Rest In Peace to a hero. To be technical, he wasn’t enlisted at the time he retired. He was a corporal when he earned the medal but retired as a Warrant Officer.
The few salute him when he's gone when they all should be honored and appreciated everyday these deads and sacrifices should be spoken in the home and taught in the schools and embedded in our hearts
My dad, aunt, 2 uncles, and several cousins were all WW2 veterans. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 My mama was a Rosie the Riveter at a bomber plant. Thank you for honoring all of our WW2 veterans.

@@easyenetwork2023 Nope I only know of him getting it . When David McNerney ( a Nam MOH ) died in 2010 he wasn't even given a State funeral . He had a regular funeral followed by an escort of Patriot Guard to the VA cemetery in Houston, TX . Unless they are really well known or connected they might get a State funeral . One mistake his final rank was as a CW4 when he retired from Marine Corps reserve 1969 and the rare times he did wear a uniform in public it was one as a retired CW4 warrant officer
Bravo Sulu Shipmate. Well Done Woody. Your watch is now over. We your fellow countrymen and women. Now have the watch. You cam go rest High on that mountain. Before the father and his son
Well done for Rabel for her efforts to honour "Woody" and his generation, ex Royal Navy myself. It's always been a privilege to serve with our American brothers and sisters.
I wouldn’t want Ms Pelosi to speak a Eulogy. That aside. RIP, sir. Much respect and honor to you from the daughter of a WW2 Navy veteran service man who passed in 2019 after serving his country, raising his family and worshipping in his faith.❤
This current generational praise of of WW2 citizens makes my stomach turn. Especially by politicians. We are not 1/10th the people they were. Our current state of national affairs today demonstrates this.

They were the best generation because they HAD TO BE. Most don't know the tail of Japan machine-gunning citizen-sailors in rescue boats off the coast of California and Oregon. The losses in the North Atlantic. Humiliating defeats in N. Africa and Italy. You find greatness when the only other option is death.
So Desmond Doss didn't have to go out and save 75 people singlehandedly? He could have done nothing and no one would have ever heard of him. MoH recipients did and do things above and beyond the call of duty. Many didn't have to do a thing but when the situation came, they thought about others. It's easy to criticize when you're sitting behind a computer after the fact.
Shame on you and McCarthy. But why am I surprised? You despise the democracy that Williams fought for. Shut the heck up, show some respect for a MOH recipient and stop hijacking his moment.
Thankfully he was a Marine, so his rank is secondary to the Corp. However, I agree they should have gotten that correct, especially for an recipient of the Medal of Honor.
