    This is an awesome idea. I'm so happy with my 8ft box on my 05 superduty. If I ever get tired of my superduty ill be replacing it with a hightop longbox van. Like a ford transit, but very cool idea

    perfect addition, I was just thinking about something like this design! It was great, I am just north of Edmonton so I am pretty local, I will be starting a separate Dirt Bike Channel shortly, but this is a must mod for my 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro with a very short bed.....you got a new sub btw...

    Great setup. I actually do a similar thing and put my bike stand in the corner and run the strap over the tire through the oil change hole to cinch the tire down. It pulls the rear wheel and the whole stand down really hard because I use the floor D rings at the rear of the bed creating a triangle. It doesn't budge no matter what and it's a free cause I already own it. Yours looks more elegant though.

    I like your design better than the link you posted. His goes all the way down to the truck bed floor as yours doesn’t touch the truck bed floor.

      Thanks, if you look closely the tube on my personal ones does extend down to the bed bottom to transfer the weight downwards. Although the footprint is pretty small and tucked right against the side walls of the bed.

      No I haven't really thought of sharing any of the plans... Nor do I have any drawings I worked from. Just the idea behind it. I kinda just tailored it to fit the Nissan Titan with he accessory rails. I could do a more in depth look at how they go together tho.

    I would have liked to see how easy/hard it is to put the rear of bike up there. I’m guessing the front handlebar tie down straps loosen up when you tilt the back of the bike up and then the front end gets a little squirrelly?

    • @RideEnduro
      @RideEnduro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      stevebaum yes good point, push the bike to the front and strap down as you normally would. Grab the top of your rear tire rim and use your legs to lift. It’s really not hard to get the rear end up at all. Once it is up you will have to tighten down the front straps, but they won’t become so loose that your bike will tip and fall. 👍🏻

    How do you lift it if you're not Schwarzenegger?

    • @RideEnduro
      @RideEnduro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha! You strap the bars like you would normally and then lift from the top of the rear rim. The weight of the bike transfers to the front tire, it’s not as hard to lift as you might think. 👍

      @michaeldelarosa1604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RideEnduro I must just be a weak person then. Pulled my lower back out loading bikes this way the first time. Tip for anyone else: squat and lift from the end of the swing arm (both hands) to lift with your legs as much as possible. Helps to use a lift stand to cheat a little and get the tire off the bed floor if you have one.

    • @RideEnduro
      @RideEnduro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaeldelarosa1604 Yes good tips, always lift with your legs! Strap the front end down first so that you are not trying to balance the bike at the same time as lifting. You will have to re-cinch the straps once the rear tire is up on the stands.

    Fork seals??

    • @RideEnduro
      @RideEnduro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always release the internal pressure on the forks after strapping the bikes down in the truck via the fork bleeders, but honestly, it’s a well debated myth about ruining fork seals by strapping your bikes down... if this is what you are asking?

    • @colekernel2365
      @colekernel2365 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RideEnduro brand new fork seals in my rx tied it down and left it tied down at a hotel and next morning when I unloaded it at the track both seals were leaking. Obviously my mistake but it just shows that excessive pressure for a length of time is really hard on the seals. Great video by the way I'm definitely gonna try this method

    • @RideEnduro
      @RideEnduro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ditto. I only use the pedestals when I have 2 or 3 bikes in the truck, or when I’m going camping as it frees up a lot of bed space for packing more gear.
