The exact info I was looking for, took way too long to find someone actually showing what the books look like. I just really wanted to make sure what the first page was. Thank you!

I think hardcover looks better on books with 300 and above pages while paperback is suitable for few pages like 100-200 pages.

I have published 3 books with KDP.
All feature lots of images in them.
The copies I have received were printed in the UK and I can honestly say the quality varies greatly.
The main issue being vertical white lines through pages.
I contacted KDP several times with the issue and they assured me it would be reported back to the print centre but the issue still remains.
The brightness / darkness of your images will vary greatly from book to book also. So beware. You may receive a book you are happy with but a customer buying your book could be very disappointed. The copy they receive could look very different to yours.
Having worked in the photographic and digital print industry for many years I know these issues could be solved very easily.
Proper calibration and machine cleaning/ maintenance.
I guess Amazon KDP don’t care about this.
To add to the issue, I’ve also had pages fall out of a book after just a week of receiving it.
A real shame because Amazon KDP books is a great way to publish your book. A fantastic route for aspiring authors.
If only Amazon had a decent quality control department.

Is the hardcover only glued? Is there stiched version available on KDP? How strong is the glued version, has anyone had problems with these falling apart, especially when laying them flat for a longer time? Book which is read will not experience such an abuse as a notebook, therefore I`m curiusous about the quality.

Hi, me again… if you have uploaded a paperback book into kdp, and now you want to upload the same book as a hardcover, how does one had both, to the same kdp book title? Thanks. Im not sure if you already have a video on this, because I’m still going thru many of your videos, and learning lots.

Hi, I created a book and decided to make a hard cover. Amazon says the available size is 8.25" x 11". The question is what format should I use for the internal book? I'm asking you this because the conversion to PDF gives me an error and doesn't load correctly. Help me please. Thanks

    • @zaracollectionhub2864
      @zaracollectionhub2864 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hello. Your question was only notified to me yesterday.
Indeed, to create a hardcover, the size offered by Amazon is only 8.25” x 11”.
I'm not sure what program you use. I use Indesign. However, if you use Canva (which I strongly advise against), it should work the same.
      Here are my settings.
      Document settings: 8.25” x 11”
      Margins: Layout
      Top margin: 0.5906 ''
      Bottom margin: 0.5906 ''
      Inner margin: 0.7874 ''
      Outer margin: 0.5906 ''
Once you have exported the file to PDF before uploading it to Amazon, you need to specify: 1) print format: 8.25” x 11”
      premium color
you need to specify: with bleed (if you have colored backgrounds that exceed the margins)
      This should work.
If the PDF doesn't load at all, it means you made errors in exporting the PDF.
If you use Indesign, you need to export as PDF/X-1a: 2001. Do not touch any other data. On the web, they say a lot of nonsense.
I recommend exporting in CMYK and not in RGB.
I don't know how else to help you. I had a lot of difficulties too, in the end with a little experience you learn.
      Let me know.
If you have difficulties, you can easily contact me via email.

Paperback pucture books for young children feel FAR too thin. We wouldn't even call it a book in Europe. It feels more like booklet.
