There would have been a better shot that’s for sure. Geno going out was a testament to what he’s capable of managing with our line. Really, the decision to not run the ball is what baffles me and seemed to be the crux in that loss for the offense. Our o-line couldn’t hold down a minimal rush attack but they just kept dropping back. I would really like Grubb to work out but I’m not sure he’s currently capable of scheming with our line talent in any consistent way.
Geno already choked the game away after throwing a bone headed redbone interception. He is the last ranked qb in red zone passer rating. I don't know why people can't understand that geno is just a flat out bad to bare average qb.
If Seahawks players rumored to be partying whole night on weekend before SNF game then it’s a serious issue seahawks mgmt needs to take care of it asap
That INT in the end zone was entirely on Ryan Grubb. I have been supporting him all season, but yesterday was amateur hour. Why was Lockett running the exact same route as Fant, but 10 yards under? Either that was a mistake by a WR that isn't known for mistakes or it was the worst play design you will ever see in the NFL. If Lockett simply runs a comeback route, his defender doesn't drop off and Fant catches an easy TD throw there.
I'm hoping that with Sam Howell starting a game or two, they are forced to commit to the run and that helps shake Grubb from his tendencies of being so pass heavy with Geno. I like Grubb, and I think he can be a great OC. Would hate to lose him too early then regret it.
🤦♂️ Ryan Grubb is a complete DUD and Sam Howell is as he has always been, incompetent. There are other issues but Ryan Grubb is a core problem and has to go end of season. He got his shot and has no answers. Like him all you need to but have the presence of mind to identify he is just another failed 1 and done OC who can’t compete at this level. ✌️
Seahawks had a game to toss, as it still comes down to Rams game, even if they’d beaten GB. How do you know how they will play against Vikings? It might flip, and they win? Then, is it all good again? Maybe coach considered this in game planning the best path to winning division🤷🏻♂️ Adversity builds character. I’m not giving up yet, on Grubb, Geno, or Mike Mac
That's quite a rumor to spread about Riq. Well, I don't think he's in their long term plans anyway because I don't think Coach Mike thinks paying two corners in his defense is a good allocation of resources.
I watched the end crash down on the run for consecutive TFL’s… Grubb ran away from him and he still got in on the tackle from behind… That can’t happen in the run!… He was crashing so hard that these pulling linemen couldn’t get to them in time to block… If you can barely hand it off and before getting hit by a DE, you know your QB is going to get DESTROYED!!!! Grubb’s offense doesn’t protect against strong D-fronts, as we saw in UW’s national title game… And we saw how that rush affected Penix’s game, so I can only imagine what Geno has to outplay these defenses 😬
Give me a realistic oc that will be better than grubb. I feel like we are on crazy town. It was geno who threw that int in the endzone but its on grubb. Im sorry but blaming a guys when the defense who suddenly was down by 14 pts. Blaming a oc is beyond crazy.
I get (and agree) that Geno threw the pick in the red zone but, I would definitely say Grubb was at fault here too. In that play, Lockett and Fant ran virtually the same route only like 8 yards away from each other, in the corner of the end zone. I don’t get why Grubb would call that play there, knowing that they have a short field to work with.
Bingo. OC* (* meaning wildcard, not just game planning). What OL is going to show up on gameday is anyone's guess. IMO, it all boils down to this: Grubb is 1 AND DONE.
I blame everything on Schneider for undervaluing guards, centers and tackles in the first round. Then, their scouts don't realize true O line talent either. Was Cross really the best tackle to draft?
Don’t you think Mike sits down with grub for an hour or so and goes over the offensive game plan? I feel like they should be in it together since Mike can help with that on how to attack opposing defenses no?
what i learned is: reassured about geno being the guy we need someone who can be good in teh redzone (oc) we will porbably need to trade walker and get oline, i wish we could get him the oline he deserves, but we probably need to make some room to be able to take a step forward bly need to make some room to be able to take a step forward
How are you reassured then mention redzone when Geno is tied leading the league in redzone ints. Grubb is a problem but so is the guy throwing those picks.
so you wanna start howell or draft a shitty qb this year thats gonna have way more problems than geno? we need a good redzone offense, geno needs to be supported by a better run game and oline, im confident he can be stellar with a proper nfl caliber system
@@CasualClinkzsure if that's your binary. Maybe draft a better qb? Maybe draft one who is playing exactly like Geno right now? Geno needs better stuff around? Wow. So does every qb. But some qbs actually do things on their own. Geno has been the starter for three years. When is this better team all around him coming? If you're confident that a rookie qb will suck you must have a good idea about the free agent OL class. The draftable interior players and johns history with them. I'd love to hear it.
im not basing my assumptions of a terrible rookie class on the oline free agent market wtf. The qb class is terrible and your not gonna get a guy thats worth whatever it would take to trade up for him. We have a good qb rigth now that can do some work. Geno is still so much better than anything we could get right now and i dont want no rookie when we dont have the oline to develop him properly. we need oline improvment and im sure were gonna draft more guys and probably get a free agent that is not great but solid. we have to take what we can get and im confident in john getting the guys we need and possibly even getting a big time oline guy thorugh a trade Also what do you think john did this offseason? guess what he drafted oline with the second pick ( a player everybody thought was gonna be great) he got connor williams in the building for gods sake. he did nothing but try to get the pieces and unfortunately it didn't work out with either guys but you are always smarter in hindsight. Even through the season he got us the pieces we needed with ernest. he did nothing but get guys in the building and i don't understand why that makes him a bad gm? A gm trying everything in his power to get the right guys in is a good gm ain't no one gonna change my mind on that.
How did you not know this would happen? Especially when their playing a playoff team. They've shown zero reason all season that it would have been a different result
So Grubb has been known to be this offensive genius. Honestly, I'm not seeing it. He's been rather predictable since the 3rd game of the season. I understand that he was brilliant at Fresno state creating a run prevalent offense. Why is he so bent on just throwing the ball? Why is he failing to see that offenses that are more balanced tend to do better. Also, the commentators for the game points out that it looks like Grubb's plan was to attack the GB secondary because a rookie was starting but he basically neglected the fact that the packers are one of the worst defenses in defending against the pass in the middle. One would think that they would exploit this because it doesn't matter whether their starter or a rookie is in for one of the CB's and the later would be the alternative if the middle gets shored up or vice versa. Why isn't there a plan to exploit multiple opportunities like he expects Geno to go through his reads during the play?
It has always been an issue since Holmgren left...our O-line schemes suck...GOOD O-lines dont collapse around the QB...they control the Defense...every time we snap the ball our linemen are either running backwards or being thrown back 5 yards before our QB can even hand it off or think about throwing...Russell Wilson made it easy for us to have a lousy O-line because he would just run (and he couldnt make up his mind to throw). With that said...with the talent we have at WR...our QB should be able to drop back 2-3 steps and throw and not look to see who is 30 yards down field... In conclusion...the philosophy is good...the execution sucks...still love my 'Hawks! Win or lose...
They pass on run downs because the rate of OL failures resulting in runners being stuffed at or behind the line is far too high. Grubb sees this, and so he calls a pass. You can want an "identity" as badly as you choose, but you can't create an identity with the wrong players, and possibly also the wrong position coaching.
You are oversimplifying. And consequently missing the forest for the trees. But it doesn't matter because when this season is over, Grubb is gonna be GONE. We are not going to suffer through the next few years like we did with Waldron. John sees the potential for this team with Coach Macdonald at the helm, and he(John) is not gonna squander this opportunity by hamstringing our offense any further beyond the season's end.
Agree that they aren’t doing enough to get DK the ball in a position to be successful. But I’d argue part of that is Geno and his strengths and weaknesses. Grub has been head and shoulders better Bevel and our last OC that shall remain nameless (in Chicago now). We lost this game because the defense could not stop the run to save their lives in the first half and that opened up the passing for them (Big Plays). At some point people need to understand Geno is not it. He’s not even reading the field at this point.. he’s just going to JSN in the pass game. Tyler is invisible. DK only getting thrown at as a last resort. TEs only get looks in bunches. Any pressure from the outside and Geno panics. Geno has some of the worst INTs I’ve ever seen. Also keep in mind that this is year 1 for the HC and OC. The guy is pretty much playing with leftovers from the last regime.
Respectfully-Wtf are you saying about Tyler? How can he be washed if he is never targeted. Geno missed him in the flat-wide the fuck open TWICE IN A ROW-on that red zone drive that turned into a pick. All to try and make the highlight reel pass in to tight coverage. Sucks Geno went down but this game was on him and trying to prove it the league that he is him. I love Geno but his ego gets in the way at the worst moments. He tries to prove it too early and it affects his gameplay when it doesn’t go right. I would be pissed the hell off if I was Tyler because he is being written off before our eyes despite being the clutch receiver on this roster. Geno tries to get into JSN too much and DK is being turned into a decoy. My issue with Grubb is his reliance on the run game when it’s too late. Either give Zach the ball 20 times and wear that DL out or go shotgun. It’s too little too late. Sam should not have been making passes. It should have been runs and draws while that DL was tired.
If we are firing Grubb... then Geno needs to go, Lockett & fant need to as well. It's all or nothing. And they probably made a game plan to throw the ball all over gb because their secondary is horrible. You go to the press conferences, why don't you just simply ask him if he's going to be calling the offensive plays going forward.
The O Line absolutely f-ing sucks. I don't care what play calls or QB you put in there! They need to use two tight ends to help with the pass rush and stop pretending that they have an O line and any time to develop a play.
Reek woolen, REEKED...I think he sucked a lot this year. He gets beat and then fouls, or when he gets beat (I thought he was fast, he looks slow) in the red zone middle of the field, he doesn't tackle low. Instead, he pushes and helps the opposing team into the End zone. Look at the tape? More than once, he did this.
Feels like McDonald may not have the personality to be a head coach ...feels like he's too into "collaboration" with the coaching staff instead of him being the guy in charge
If the Seahawks had the O line that the Bills have then a taxi driver could be the OC for the Seahawks. O line is LOUSY thanks to John Schneider. You have to give the coaches a couple of years to build the team as they want it. John Schneider is expandable but I bet you won't do a show on him!
With all the Hawks' turnover and youth on the O'line, it's probably not fair to call for his job. There is probably a lot he hasn't been able to do because of it. 🤷♂️
Give Grubb a break..The Hawks are in 1st place. There isn't a person out there that wouldn't have taken first place at this point in the season. Grub has a lot to do with that.
Yeah, we need a new OC again! O-line sucks, yes! But everyone know our Oline sucks. Grubb should adjust or make better plays if he wants be a good OC in NFL. PLEASE BENCH #27. He is just lazy and stupid and doesn't look fixable.
But Howell was so much better, right 12s? Just let Grubb work with him for the next five years😂. Go save Bob cooter from the Colts as OC and increase his pay. The developing of Richardson and WR drops are holding that offense back. I love DK, and I think we should get low 1st for him from a playoff team with no WRs(Chargers) and get Josh Simmons and Jonah Saviinaea.
Ryan Grubb has to go.... First year NFL OC coach.... Fine... How long are we going to give him to get his NFL shit together.. I've been with this team for many years and endured some crappy OCs... Rookie head coach didn't need a rookie OC... This team will not beat the vikings or the rams.... 9/8 no playoffs. FUCCC NO ON GRUBB. Do the math... Over time with the patriots and in that game,, "two safeties in the first quarter.... Lost to the giants... I could go on....!!

Maybe coach considered this in game planning the best path to winning division🤷🏻♂️
Adversity builds character.
Watch the replay. Those are terrible routes as they’re all bunched together in the red zone…
Sorry to hear that Mr. Mays 💔
That was a rough first half. The defense did play much better the second half but the offense was poor at best.
Don’t you think Mike sits down with grub for an hour or so and goes over the offensive game plan? I feel like they should be in it together since Mike can help with that on how to attack opposing defenses no?
what i learned is:
reassured about geno being the guy
we need someone who can be good in teh redzone (oc)
we will porbably need to trade walker and get oline, i wish we could get him the oline he deserves, but we probably need to make some room to be able to take a step forward
bly need to make some room to be able to take a step forward
Geno is still so much better than anything we could get right now and i dont want no rookie when we dont have the oline to develop him properly.
we need oline improvment and im sure were gonna draft more guys and probably get a free agent that is not great but solid.
we have to take what we can get and im confident in john getting the guys we need and possibly even getting a big time oline guy thorugh a trade
Also what do you think john did this offseason? guess what he drafted oline with the second pick ( a player everybody thought was gonna be great) he got connor williams in the building for gods sake. he did nothing but try to get the pieces and unfortunately it didn't work out with either guys but you are always smarter in hindsight.
Seahawks secondary never looked back for the ball, which caused pass interference after pass interference.
Scott Huff was an underachiever for most of his tenure at UW and has failed for Hawks as well. I'd can him first before any decision on Grubb is made.
It was always sus to hire a college OL coach. The pro game is just different up front.
Win or lose...
why are people so eager to blame Grubb? How about JS for saying that OGs are overpriced and overvalued and not getting good ones?
Any possibility JAREN HALL starts at QB if Geno does not go, after all he knows the Vikings Defense ?
The OLine is saying "we don't know what we are doing".
Pets are family too. ❤ to the Mays'.
Ryan Grubb is trash imagine having your best receiver run fades all game so he can get double teamed all game. Tyler Lockett is washed up
Agree that they aren’t doing enough to get DK the ball in a position to be successful.
@@heroby_defaultbetter than Bevel? Let me know when that happened.
@@Max-zg2cithat’s complete bullshit, and dumb.
@@Max-zg2ci I think there was only two run attempts after Sam came in the game (actual run plays) And one went for a TD.
Went with expunged there huh? Nice choice
Expendible
@@brianday67either is fine because he is
Bad decision to hire Grubb for OC. Even worst decision to have the OL coach. These two have made Seahawks offense worse than college football.
Yes please, I can’t watch those horrible play calls more than once in my lifetime. Grubb has proved he is not ready for the pros.
With all the Hawks' turnover and youth on the O'line, it's probably not fair to call for his job. There is probably a lot he hasn't been able to do because of it. 🤷♂️
Weird since everyoe's least favorite oc was able to do more with two rookie tackles, a mid IOL, and less weapons.
It absolutely is. He needs to scheme for what he has, not what his ideal is.
@@donnydripsbingo!
Give Grubb a break..The Hawks are in 1st place. There isn't a person out there that wouldn't have taken first place at this point in the season. Grub has a lot to do with that.
The packers are just a way better team, it’s not that big of a surprise that the Seahawks lost in the fashion they did
Why are we passing in the Red Zone?
Grubb| Geno/ DK gone. Or get a plan 😮
Yeah, we need a new OC again! O-line sucks, yes! But everyone know our Oline sucks. Grubb should adjust or make better plays if he wants be a good OC in NFL. PLEASE BENCH #27. He is just lazy and stupid and doesn't look fixable.
Mike McDonald is a HEAD COACH, you’re treating him as a DC with no say on offensive plays.
Offense sucked but the Defense had no sacks
I don’t want grub to go to another team and ball out ….we need an oline for us to see if he’s really good or not.
I think he'll do great at Alabama.
@ if he goes back to college that’s fine
I'd rather watch Sam play the next 3 games. We can see what we got in him.
It was rough
I agree fire Grubb
But Howell was so much better, right 12s? Just let Grubb work with him for the next five years😂. Go save Bob cooter from the Colts as OC and increase his pay. The developing of Richardson and WR drops are holding that offense back. I love DK, and I think we should get low 1st for him from a playoff team with no WRs(Chargers) and get Josh Simmons and Jonah Saviinaea.
Or the debate doesn't involve howell because both qbs aren't geting it done
To be fair, the Hawks scored 7 with Howell and 6 with Geno... So they both suck
@@TheBroledno, the defense gave him a turnover to work with and the line blown up all game.
Grubb time is up we need NFL caliber OC
No chance he gets another season
it’s not the Oc trust me
Grub is too pass happy but wh did we think we were getting the d was not that good whole thing need help
Run? Behind what? 🤣🤦🏻
Seem like grubb was trying to get fired lol
Ryan Grubb has to go.... First year NFL OC coach.... Fine... How long are we going to give him to get his NFL shit together.. I've been with this team for many years and endured some crappy OCs... Rookie head coach didn't need a rookie OC... This team will not beat the vikings or the rams.... 9/8 no playoffs. FUCCC NO ON GRUBB. Do the math... Over time with the patriots and in that game,, "two safeties in the first quarter.... Lost to the giants... I could go on....!!
can you say the Seahawks have a good offensive line? It’s terrible. Geno has been sacked and scrambling for his life the whole season.
Come on who and what will be a oc. I think it all his fault
Done
Time for Overreaction Monday!
get rid of riq woolen
kinda nuts how many supposed gms are in your live comment section.
Thankfulky a real gm like you is here to set it straight.
Any possibility JAREN HALL starts at QB if Geno does not go, after all he knows the Vikings Defense ?
locket shouldn’t even be in the game. He doesn’t block anybody. He falls down as soon as he catches it. He doesn’t get any yards after the catch. He barely catches one pass a game. That’s not an NFL caliber receiver. I love locket, but he’s aged and he’s aged and he is done
