Dylan literally goes home and tells his smokin hot girlfriend he made new friends at the dragons den
And you know DAMN well that she is like, "That's so awesome honey!" Eithe understanding a little and going along...
Or the even better universe. She makes his decks.
All this says to me is that we simply MUST know more about Dylan and his smoking hot motorcycle girlfriend

Huge props to Dylan for caring about helmet safety
We stan Dylan now.
You have to be wearing a helmet. Otherwise you can go from skull to soup.

oh OF COURSE Dylan is ALSO SAFETY CONCIOUS
Dylan’s a jack of all trades, master of all.

I love that Brennan portrays it like he was the Hunchback of Notre Dame hiding in the Bell Tower, Phantom of the Opera style
Ikr lmfao
@@draquela96 When he does that "skittering" thing with his fingers, you can really imagine him hissing at the sunlight and skulking back inside.
Phantom lived in an underground cavern
More like Quasimodo style right? Isn't that metaphor already complete without the Phantom of the Opera?
I really enjoy the phrase “smokin’ hot motorcycle girlfriend”
That was a power move by Dylan 😂
Because it implies Dylan is dating a motorcycle
Feel like it was probably his mom

He's usually the guy putting the stage together though. Lol
The fact he described Dylan as a kid and then said a beautifull woman pulled up on a motorcycle, made me think it was his hot mom and Dylan was dangling his kid feet off the sides of the bike 😂😂😂😂
I mean kid could still be late teens
In the US don't kids start driving at like 16?

It's not gatekeeping...it's screaming at the universe asking why it's not playing fair
This. Dylan isn't doing anything to make it unfair, he just doesn't see it because he would never treat the other nerds as anything lesser than himself so why would anyone do that.
@@markmittelbach7975 that attitude is extremely relatable and applicable to many perspectives. The burden of allyship is heavier than the ideals of "why are other humans mean and bad"
@@catdad626 Very beautiful way to put it. Thank you :)
There’s a clip or meme that goes something like “your experiences are not universal but I wish they were”
big mouth for someone presumably living in America with internet access
This reminds me of that comment about how building characters in IRL is busted because it’s possible for someone to be maxed out in every stat, and this is further proof lol
Maybe the solution is to have stats apply to a whole community 😅 to produce one perfect person, five [gestures to self] are made
Like, we make jokes about how BRENNAN doesn't have dump stats
* every sentence that comes out of his mouth is dripping with ultra-high INT, WIS, and CHA
* when he pulls up his sleeves, we can see that he has above-average STR and CON
* and there's nothing to suggest that his DEX is below average)
And this is a guy who was out of BRENNAN's league :D
Nah. Charisma is just OP IRL
For all we know this dude was dumb as a box of rocks with the coordination of a newborn giraffe.
It’s all Charisma
@@Simpson17866 nah, his CON is low, he constantly needs to eat almonds, he said so himself, that sounds like a CON issue to me
@@jackwriter1908 You didn't say "Um, Actually," so you get no points.
Dylan's unironically just the modernized High School Musical protagonist
Wait, you're so right.
HSM came out 2 weeks after Brennan's 18th birthday, I assure you that Dylan's around the same age as Troy Bolton or older lol
Oof "modernized" hurt me
Guy in my AP art class was a star baseball player. He made gorgeous watercolor roses.
There's always that really cool guy who shatters the popular jock stereotype. He's so popular because he's good socially not because he's ruthless. Really just can't hate the guy.
That’s so cute!
Guy I worked with was beautiful, I say this with 100% confidence in my heterosexuality, the guy just looked like he stepped off the cover of a women's romance novel. Actually was a male model in his off time, when he wasn't playing semi-professional baseball. Was incredibly humble and kind, always happy to learn about and help anyone. Pretty much any woman who walked into the store had to pull their jaws off the floor before remembering to respond. And it was infuriating.
I wish he had been secretly an assholw when customers left, or talked shit about other employees, or just had any fucking relatable flaw. Actually made me take a hard look at myself and question why I didn't act better in my own life and work at the time.
Honestly , good on you! You sound wise and humble, to be able to self reflect like that.
You chose the wise path
Great to read that bro! Quick couple questions: How long ago was this? Did you try to change certain aspects of your own life based on those reflections?
Probably cause no one was ever mean to that guy, came from a whole non broken home etc. never had to put up defenses or feel inadequate or jealous of others.
@@MacDibs Many people have that... Most get on a high horse because of that. We are greedy monkeys without internal work.
So I played Magic with a kid, popular, valedictorian, quarterback, six pack abs, chiseled features. Dated a tall Colombian model, who he married after graduating with a computer science degree, earned his law degree, started a company. He’s now 45, CEO, rich, and still the nicest guy you’ve ever met.
We need more people like that in the world. Though I usually find that the really good-looking nerdy people tend to be super nice.
CEO? Of like a small company or like a massive one?
I met a guy like this too, his name was kenny
I don’t believe it, he probably like, kills teenage sex workers on the down low.
I like how he points out how kind Dylan was too. Like the Universe is daring you to find a reason to hate him beyond petty jealousy. Good story
Shout-out to Dylan, hope you still have the smokin' hot motorcycle babe, bro.
She's probably the smokin' hot motorcycle wife by now.
Thanks for the shoutout Kai, can confirm I have a smokin' hot motorcycle babe

@dylanlong9641 Dylannnnnn🎉🎉🎉😂
Heard Poughkeepsie and just had a whole moment where I forgot that Brennan grew up, like, shockingly close to where I live lmao
I just had the exact same moment, lol. I bought my first mtg packs at that dragons den
Yup, moment of shock on my end too
You maybe have met him before he was famous and could have no idea
Bruh same! Sometimes he talks about New Paltz and I take psychic damage
Same. Like, now I'm wondering if he's ever gone to my primary store (Alterniverse, run by Anthony)
I mean I understand how he got there, raised on sports and exposed to nerd culture by a friend, but the fact that he came across as genuinely happy and chill too is fvcking rare. Usually wildly scattered/split interests in teens is the flare signal for “I don’t really know who I am yet and it’s causing me great distress and internal conflict”
Gosh seeing a Dylan like that must be like seeing a unicorn.
For a while there in the 90s it was a cool guy name.
a wholesome jock!
I really need to find more representation of the wholesome and kind jock.
Getting into nerdy games in high school was always crazy intimidating. Football and math/science no issues, that shit? So easy to look like an idiot.
Ify, Shayne Topp, Travis Willingham and Joe Manganiello are the only examples I can think of for nerd/jock hybrids who aren't dicks to either side
These are excellent pulls! Fully agreed.
Henry Cavill
@@TibTub2 that was the perfect adition
You forgot Terry Crews
Aabria is also a jock/nerd!
The Notre Dame references followed by what sounds like the nicest most attractive nerd ever was not what i was expecting.
I know someone like that. She is BEYOND gorgeous. She's some kind of specialized nurse and makes great money, her husband is also insanely hot and an investment banker,
and she is a great person. Genuine, insanely generous like will drop everything and fly across the country to help a friend out because like their cat died or something,
just very annoying like could you be rude or stupid, if you're going to be hot?
It's so true, it's a frustrating day when you realize that people can be smart, attractive AND kind. I feel like when I was a teenager I was under the impression that it was a 'pick two' kind of situation 😂
This video serves to remind you that even Brennan Lee Mulligan, as amazing and awesome as he is now, started off humbly and also looked up to other people with his interests.
Dylan is the dude that makes every other dude feel like a side character
Theres this one guy I met at a hema practice, its like if Aragorn from LOTR was a punk rocker. He's an environmental/sound designer with Activision and is such a chill and awesome dude in every which way. His wife is like a foot taller than him and theyre the absolute cutest
Its like Henry Cavill showing up to play Warhammer at a Games Workshop
When I first found out that you could be nerdy and also good at sports (in 6th grade) I was so jealous… It’s the most middle school thing ever, but I genuinely believed you had to min-max to be a functional jock or nerd so seeing a multiclass blew my mind
I used to play FNM every Friday at my LCS. During its peak there was an avg 50 players. All different races, fat, skinny, men, women. There was 2 guys every Friday that showed up in their suits coming straight from work. The guy who taught me how to play was with me every week. One day he stopped mid conversation. Looked around the basement where FNM was held and just said "WOTC got it right. This, truly, is the gathering". A little cheesy but in the moment and at the time it definitely touched me. I tell that story at every new table when I play MTG.
I love this. I’m said the fnm’s around me don’t feel anything like they used to
@@BOWS3R I don't even have any around me anymore. I haven't played paper MTG in maybe 5 years. I was at that LCS of mine today and the basement is blocked off entirely. It was like seeing an old school I went to torn down and demolished.
He perfectly described my father: a kind and quiet jock that is an unabashedly yet reserved nerd Lol.
Me to lettered in football, wrestling, and track all 4 years. Played magic at lunch and D&D 3.5 every weekend 😂😂
Dylan sounds like a good lad, being nice and encouraging during/after games
I love people who are well read, smart, witty and have a plethora of knowledge to pull from because THAT is what makes people unique and quippy and attractive to be around. Brennan is so amazing because he takes the time and puts effort in to be the geek and nerd that he is. Love it. We need more smart and multicultured people in our lives.
Sounds like my Great Grandpa. WW2 vet, 6'2", fit and handsome, beautiful wife, long haul truck driver... Also collected every comic book he could get his hands on
I have met a few daywalkers like this. They are a rare and beautiful breed.
Didn't realize Ricky Matsui was based on the legend of Dylan
LMAO! Ricky is so Dylan coded!😂
oh so he met Ferb Fletcher
Definitely Vanessa on the motorcycle 😂
Gods I hope Dylan is absolutely loving life right now!
In highschool my friend and I were captains of the football team, another a massive metalhead, another a 6'2 pretty boy - and every time we would roll into the local game store to squee over a new D&D book I swear the guys in the store would look at us like we were there for their lunch money 😅🤷♂️🙏❤️
Brennen sayinng poughkeepsie dragons den gave me whip lash. This guy on a show i watch cant referennce the comic/gameshop across the river from my tiny hometown
Now imagine being from pk and being close asf with multiple Dylans 😂

Dylan's a fellow daywalker.
What is a daywalker? Is this just a term for a mega nerd that's also succeasful and happy in real life?
@@bilbo_gamers6417 "daywalker" is a type of vampire that can survive in the sunlight and pretend to be human. the comic book character Blade is a daywalker.

"You can't just dip a toe in this world" Jesus, Brennan was HURT that day
Every single huge jacked muscle gay dude I know is OBSESSED with MTG. I dunno why. Twice is a coincidence, but 5 times is a goddamn pattern. Apparently gay guys who love to work out and get jacked also like to get their decks jacked with the best cards.
How do they have the energy to be into fitness and card games and still presumably go to work and stuff? Gay sex must be incredible!
They'll pound you with their deck and pound other men with their di...
It’s called min-maxxing
He got like that because he had the confidence to not care about what others thought. Sometimes the only thing making someone cool, is them believing they are cool.
Being conventionally attractive never hurts
Being conventionally attractive also helps in fact many would say it's a big factor in confidence.
Dylan out here living the story of golden boy
And he's SECURE, I had to cancel a date with a smokin' hot guy in the parking lot because he refused to ride in a woman's passenger seat.
He really had no car and told me I needed to let him drive... NOBODY drives my car, not even my family and much less an insecure man.
honestly tragedy averted. I cant believe there are still younger guys in the modern age that act like this. Its like theyve been living under a rock watching 50s romance dramas and have only just discovered the outside world exists.
He’s practically a real life Ferb except he ACTUALLY TALKS!
I’m NEVER gonna get a girlfriend. The competition is too good!😨
These types are a rare breed. We fight for the ones who haven’t met the Ferbs.
@@Lewlew97 Just remember if you're a man dating women your real competition isn't other men, it's women's time alone.
If her time alone is more fun, fulfilling and rewarding than being with you, that's what she'll choose.
Ok except the realest chicks want Brennans not Dylans, problem is do you want to date a Jennifer or a Raquel know what I mean
@@draquela96 I mean Dylan sounds pretty cool too, it's possible for more than one person to be a good prospect at once.
@@draquela96 I mean personality is more important too, but if they're hot AND have a great personality, then its even better. Sounds like Dylan was a great guy, so him being attractive too is just bonus.
Good Personality > Attractive
but
Good Personality + Attractive > Good Personality alone.
I read this title and assumed it was about Ify.
And look at Brennan now. He’s got that Dylan life now.
Dylan started as a nerd and blossomed. Stayed humble, too.
Like Joe Manganiello.
Motorcycle people are nerds. When nerds grow up, they glow up.
I'm still waiting for that glow up
So this is how I learn that Brennan and I grew up in the same area?! I was not expecting to ever hear about that store again
Had a guy like that names Adam. Tall, naturally tan all year round, super nice. Super funny. One of the best guys you'll ever meet. Great at sports, but loved chess, and magic the gathering and all that too. What made it worse was that he had a metabolism issued that basically required him to eat 8000 calories a day to survive. This guy was and and still is a bottomless pit. And still lean too. Sone people really do just have it all.
I’ve been playing Magic since I was 10. I’ve gotten tall and muscular over the years. I remember one night during Friday night draft the one employee looked at me and straight up said “you don’t look like you belong here.”
I said “what do you mean?”
He pointed to a group of other players and said “those guys, they look like they belong here. You don’t look like you belong here.”
I laughed so hard at that. Guy was like Andy Kaufman level of hilarious.
I hope Dylan is doing well
FUCKING WILD hearing Brennan casually mention places I've been to in my childhood
Me now knowin that I probably played in mtg tournaments with Brennan in Poughkeepsie just made my day!
The fact that he's nice is the cherry on top
This is like that one Art major in your Infinite Geometric Series class
totally
There is a lot of overlap between Math and Art...
Dylan is the man brennan wants to be, and to be honest hes the type of person I want to be to
Ayo that was a trickster deity. Like, we all know that, right?
Dudes met a bard irl and were utterly confused
In school, I was a floater too. Wasn't super popular or anything, but everyone knew who I was. Our school was very clique-y, and I was one of the few that had friends in basically every group, so I would float between them. All of the friends I kept after graduating, though, were all nerds and outcasts. Now I'm not so much a floater, but a geek just with other interests too lol
Henry Cavil is just another one of the Dylans walking around the world having it all and being delightful human beings too
A real life gigachad
The guy is also black and white all the time 😂🗿
Homestly respect for not negatively stereotyping someone because of their looks. It's obviously way easier to go through life as "conventionally attractive", but you would surprised how exclusionary people can be just because you dont *look* like you belong.
Being a nerd doesn’t make you a loser. Being an unlikable person with no redeeming qualities makes you a loser. I remember this one Yugioh players who 6’2”, wasn’t ugly at all, and had a deep voice. He thought they couldn’t get a girlfriend cause he was into nerdy stuff and wore anime t-shirts. The reality was that he told annoying jokes, was a little racist, was into lolis, never exercised and had bad hygiene. Meanwhile at the same shop there was this scrawny 5’5” guy with thick glasses who had a textbook big titty goth gf. She didn’t even play, she just liked watching him play and cheering for him. Dude was genuinely funny despite not talking much, tended to give new players cheap free staples, and ultimately became a cornerstone of the local community by just being around often and not starting trouble.
Amarillo has a bunch of gang members that play and they are always so wholesome and never have any issues. In fact they seem like they want to learn the most out of everyone there and watch matches like they got money on them which they might idk
Dude! I lived like an hour away from the Dragon's Den in Poughkeepsie! Haven't been there in 25 years.
This man's ability to tell stories.. I bet i would listen and believe every single one..
Dylan was a sign of a glitch in the Matrix.
Me and a buddy are gearheads, grease monkeys, and we both farm. Usually look like you typical Midwest farmer out grabbing parts in town. Always love the reaction of new people in the store seeing us walk in lol
YOU WOULD GO TO THE DRAGON'S DEN IN POUGHKEEPSIE?? thats where i played when i went to Vassar!
We had a bunch of those in my high school, boys who were awesome on the football team but also in drama class doing really well acting in Shakespeare. I personally loved it because it was my new high school and it showed that if you were friendly you’d get along with most people in that school
Amazing story but the one thing that stunned me was the spelling of Poughkeepsie. I’ve heard of it multiple times but have never actually seen it spelt. Never would have I guessed correctly.
How did you think it was spelt?
Dragon's Den mentioned! I bought comics there when i was an undergrad! Closed a couple years into my time there after they didn't pay their taxes, apparently, but by then, i had a car.
After that, my regular store became the other store I've heard Brennan talk about, October Country, another great store!
Calling it now, Dylan is %1000 an isekai
I worked at a LAN arcade in the early 2000s and there was a similar guy there. Good looking, super friendly, athletic.
Also kicked all our asses at Counter-Strike.
This is why my amazing high school was still a bummer for me. EVERYBODY was in every club and the concept of nerds/popular kids was way less emphasized. But the problem was, the quarterback got all the lead parts in the plays and nerds didn’t have a safe space to shine. It was a free for all.
Dylan reminds me of a friend I loosely know know who’s quite attractive by modern standards and is a MASSIVE Magic nerd, like been playing since primary and will kick the asses of everyone in the room, knows the game inside and out, he’s also obsessed with and keeps frogs, he’s a cool dude and real nice with a cute alternative girlfriend
I know Brennan grew up in NY but where did he grow up? I just assumed the city but now hearing he’s hitting up spots in Poughkeepsie which you can get to from the city but it’s a trip
Upstate NY. I think he was more specific in his interview with his mom on dropout and the podcast he did about gratitude, but I can’t remember right now.
From his episode on ProZD's podcast, he said he grew up in Washington Heights till he was about 4 (iirc). I think after that was when his family moved to the Hudson Valley
@@AF-ie5mk You opened up with Wash Heights and I was ready to be like nah. I know a shit ton of people live in every section of the city.
