I have mine setup differently and haven't had any issues with either Bluetooth or WiFi. After I first paired the camera to the phone and connected my phone to the camera WiFi, I changed the power save mode on the camera to off. I never connect to the WiFi through the app. Always from the phone WiFi menu, then open the app. I've been able to turn the camera off for minutes at a time and every time I turn the camera back on, it automatically reconnected. I've just always set my cameras to turn off in their own, I turn them off. Too many times I've thought the camera was on, go to shoot a fleeting moment and BAM!!! In your face Kobie!!!!!! Hahahaaaaa!!!! You're not getting this photo op! So I've just always manually turned the camera off instead, or just leave it on depending on the surroundings and situation. Naturally, you took the time to set all this up and the birds knew right away and told their friends lol.
Hey Lee.It’s seems like Murphy’s law with the birds. If you do capture images with this setup,it would be great to see the results. Also maybe a future firmware update to fix the Bluetooth issue maybe needed??
This app has kicked my butt more than it's worked. It is as frustrating as connecting a cheap home "smart" device :). C'mon Pentax you've knocked it out of the park on the K-3 iii, get busy on the app so we can play like the other guys :).

Thanks lee. Interesting idea. A bit diffrerent to the long cable release with a rubber ball to squeeze.
Great video, Lee! I would want my camera insured if I were to use this feature, though...
