Hi Tan. Wondering if you reached a conclusion on the best cross strings to hybrid with. I use a PA98 and usually do full bed Zero at 48 lb, would love to try any cross strings you recommend for this set up to increase pop.
Great review! Really useful having all that detail, especially on types of racquet the string works best with. I have a dilemma: I have a 2024 Head Speed Pro, which I love. I'm looking at either a full bed of Restring Sync, or a blend of Zero & Sync. The Speed Pro is an 18/20 but it's quite open, being a 100inch. If I string the blend at 48lbs, do you think it'll be OK? Or would you suggest I go with a full bed of Sync? Thanks
Thinking of restring on mains and wasabi x on cross....47/45 ...on my extreme tour.....what do you think of this set up? Is this too low on extreme tour's grommets?
It’s super good. I currently use this setup on my Percept 100D and it pop and spin like crazy. I think I strung it at 47/45 lbs as well or 48/46 lbs not sure, but does have more power than a full-bed Zero.
Thank you for the review! Would you say it's a good idea to hybrid it with multifilament string? I'm thinking of putting Head Velocity to get more pop.
I haven’t tried hybrid with multi (actually will try it soon). Could be a good idea but not sure if it will bite the multi fast. Now my favorite is Wasabi X cross. Way more pop.
So far I don’t have any problems with it. I don’t even think it’s a stiff string, but I never strung Zero over 50 lbs. Some of my clients who complain about stiffness are those who go above something like 52 lbs. As I said in the video, you can immediately notice that Zero really does not stretch when pull tension, unlike other polys, so I’m not surprised if it will be stiff when you go high tension.
Zero main with Wasabi X cross or Confidential 3.0 RD cross or Hyper G cross work well. It helps lifting the launch angle on Radical and not demanding that much. Otherwise you can just go for full-bed Hyper G.
Superb review; very comprehensive! How would this work with a gut hybrid: gut in the mains, zero in the crosses? Would the fact that it's shaped make it liable to notch-wear the gut?
Just watched this video because I was considering Restring Zero but the 3 rackets I use the most (T-Fight 305, Strike, and Blade) are the rackets you said aren't really compatible with it lol. Any recommendations for string setups I can try that would be good in all 3 of those rackets? My plan is to just be able to buy a reel and not have to worry about it anymore. I'm tired of trying new strings all the time.
@@tantennis Lol alright. Restring is that good? I've been unimpressed with Toroline after trying a variety of their strings. Zero in the mains I'm assuming if I were to hybrid it? I usually string at 48 / 46 or 46 / 44 depending on the racket / string.
I've been using zero on my ezone 98 (current model) at 47 pounds and I love it. Have you tested the new sync already? I'm very curious about hybrid zero mains sync crosses
How do you like the PlexiPave surfacing on those semicovered courts you film from. Did you notice you can track the ball better. We're there any other observations about Plexipave? Thanks for the comprehensive string review going to go with Synch.
What are you liking better to increase some crispness on restring zero and make less muted? Hybrid with Wasabi x? Hybrid with sync? I play best with zero but wish for a bit more feel in head extreme tour auxetic!
@@tantennis well i have to disagree subjectively: went to the courts today and tried both back to back and felt like sync in the cross lost power, crispness, and just felt dull. Went right back to zero full bed!
I just tried it ps97 v14 at 24-23kg. I have a large flattish stroke with very high racket head speed. And I have to say I quite liked it. I normally play with hyper g soft and I was having a hard time keeping my balls in. With restring way more of my shots stay in so I completely agree with your description of it gives more control with powerful strokes. And it seems to have way more playability duration. At least double even triple as long as hyper g soft. It is more crisp and feels stiffer. I am getting to like stiffer polys more and more so I enjoyed it.
I mainly use two piece set up and was using restring zero at 49 wasabi x 47 on my vcore 2023. I tested the tension with the gamma reader and it read it at 56. My arm definitely hurt as a result. I wonder if the new toroline snapper would work better as a cross. And lowering overall tension to maybe 44x41. my usual tension is 52x49 wasabi / kirschbaum silver 17. I wonder if it's too steep a change or if the strings quality (rs0)will work better as a result.
Yes. Cut the entire Zero out. It’s a total joke! Wasabi is interesting and will give it a try sometimes but the ultimate shaped poly that is easy on the arms is the Volkl V-Square in 17 gauge. Give it a try and come back and tell me I was wrong… it is the slickest strings out there with the lowest string-to-string friction and very high string to ball friction. The highest top spin potential according to TW. The only downside is that, it will not last long. However, if you are a competitive player, you will cut these out after 2 hours.
Thanks for the superb review. I really liked this format, very detailed and thorough. I agree with your points in my experiences with this string, I wish they had a thinner gauge as I’m not a super strong power player but am always looking for spin friendly strings. My current set-up is with Solinco Confidential 1.15 in my Ezone 100. The Restring Zero I find makes the racquet heavy, and i have to string lower like your recommendation which gives me a really nice heavy shot, but I have to swing full out to get the pocketing and spin otherwise I lack control and the ball flies. Confidential in renowned for it’s predictability, but I find Zero is great for full swings, but I struggle with touch and in between shots. Looking forward to hearing your recommendation for hybrid set-up.
Any recommendations for my yonex vcore 100 2023, 4 knots or 2 knots with restring zero ? Is there any difference between 4 knots or 2 knots ? Thank you
Would you say your evaluation of not being compatible applies to the Pure Strike 100 16x19? It has a bit more power with a larger head and slightly more open strings.
Yea I just strung it on the new Pure Strike 100 16x19 thought it would work but I think it puts too much SW on the racket and makes it head heavy. Takes too much effort for groundstrokes. I think it could be better with other setups such as regular Hyper G.
I really like restring, I use gravity, very good snapback, very manageable power, spin is good enough, what I struggle with restring is backhand slice, sometime it feels too slippery 😢
I've tried it out in my vcore98 (2023) and it feels like there's a lot more noticeable vibration outside of the sweetspot - to the point where I wonder if there's something wrong with my racket. Have you noticed if that's a characteristic of the string?

I’m not forcing anybody to believe me. I have different opinion from other reviewers all the time and I don’t really care. Just try it for yourself.
On Speed MP no problem at all, looks good and plays well. I think it also reduce the erratic shots that sail long. On Speed Pro it feels ok but could be too underpowered. On Ezone 98 I don't see any problem, could be a bit too muted if you like a lot of feel.

Overpriced, harsh string. Just not worth the money. There are so many better shaped polys out there eg. Head Lynx Tour, MSV Focus Hex, Volkl Cyclone etc etc all at a cheaper cost.
Zero lasts much longer than any of those. Lynx Tour is the closest in terms of longevity, and it's a good string, but it's also a heavy string, and it loses playability much quicker. Cyclone and Hex don't even compare.
I like Focus Hex and Lynx Tour, they have better feel than Zero, but spin and bite are behind. Cyclone no way. But yeah they all lost playability faster like the previous comment said. Btw, Lynx tour is not cheap tho.
