I take notes because for me to understand i have to use multiple resources; lecturers slides, textbooks, TH-cam videos so taking notes brings all this information into one place and also because i use a number of resources during exam period revision is faster when everything is in one place instead of jumping from one resource to the other, idk if it makes sense but it brings some lvl of organisation for me. I think this method is best during preclinicals i cant say for clinicals because I'm just starting.

Congratulations on starting clinicals, it will go by really fast dw, I get what you mean and I actually do this sometimes(when I start reading early🫠), I think this method works for people that can’t multitask anyways all the best love and thanks for watching 💗

My question is if you're not taking notes what then do you read when preparing for exam? The questions you wrote down? Or you re-read the slides?

I take notes of only what I know I won’t remember if I don’t revise and also key points so when I’m revising for exams those jottings are enough to refresh my brain on the entire topic without opening the slide but keep in mind that this doesn’t work for every topic.

It's just key points and assimilation is easier and there's something to fall back on for revision

I used to write notes in my first year of pharm school
But now, I don't write and I read faster because writing takes time
    I write down questions too
