In yesterday's Skate America Men's SP, we witnessed some of the scariest falls in figure skating. Let's look at how scary those falls are, by imagining them as the victims in Squid Game 😂
I’m wondering why no one is asking why Shoma is so underscored. 88 on PCS? Like Seriously? I mean, the placements were reasonable. Vincent is definitely gold. Shoma is definitely second. But his second place shouldn’t be that close to Nathan’s third. I mean, no one’s talking about the PCS disaster in the short but I was hoping people would start talking about the PCS disaster after the free. But it’s radio silence. I guess this is just one of the manifestations of what would happen when Yuzu eventually retires. No one would talk about figure skating because of how 💩 the ISU is.
Check our community and comments below Shoma's video in ISU channel, a lot of people are talking about this apparently! And I totally agree with you. Shoma is so underscored in PCS!
Oh YES!!! I was getting so high at Kevin's Stsq after that 3 falls! He tried his best after the injury didn't he?! Wish he get well soon. Yes we are brainstorming about what kind of video to make for this event (Can't just do a highlight coz last year when we did, we got a copyright block from some TV channel who bought the broadcasting right. So gotta think of different ways to make the video so as not to fall into the copyright infringement range). Stay tuned
@@kadovax6567 I know, but I mean he tend to not being in his best condition in comparison to when he is competing in other countries. Even when he won SA, in some performances you can see his disappointment in his performance.
The incredible women's short program event almost made up for all of the men bombing(😭). I wish I didn't stay so late watching it, I think it did my mental health more harm than good😂
@@FigureSkatingFan And the women's freeskate was even better than the short program!!😱😱 It definitely makes up for the men's event; there were so many clean skates!
I fell in love with skate because of Yuzu just recenly. and it was my first skate competition that I watched. IT WAS SOOOO SCARY. I'm shoked. Vincent was amazing! ps: I'm educating myself about skate rules through your channel, thank you sooo much for making videos.
They are so scary, thats true... I skated in ice too and I can say that ice is much less hard or painful when falling than concrete (but then, us, roller figure skaters, we have parquet/wood floors where we can skate and at the same time is soft enough so falls dont even hurt)
@@FigureSkatingFan LOL~~~ Yay finally Vincent Zhou takes on the lead! Been rooting for him to challenge Nathan since he won the junior world title in 2017!!
I just started to like figure skating this year and this is the first live streaming that i watched. It was Wow. Almost all of them were falling or popping the jumps, i was like ..... Does it always like this? Lol 😅
It happens sometimes but not all the time. For example, Olympic 2014 Free skate was like, almost everyone falls.. Olympic 2018 was like, almost everyone hit - the best! My favorite is still Worlds Championship 2017 and GPF 2015 free skate, everyone brings their A games! This kind of high level competitions are rare but also like, will make you feel high for a long long time! Welcome to the figure skating fandom! and Let's wait for the next "All hit the jackpot" game!!
@@FigureSkatingFan Thank you for the warm welcome and the information too. Might as well watching those competitions when i worked :3 The video which attracted me into this sport was Yuzuru's Seimei Olympic. I never watched any figure skater videos but suddenly it was in my recommendation list. I clicked on it because of ........ the outfit ^^; "That's a very cool onmyoji outfit" lol >_< But I watched the whole program and i thought "awesome!"
So much mixed emotions, I was hoping Nathan stays undefeated but Vincent really deserves his win!! (I mean, we knew he really improved since Nebelhorn) Hope Nathan skates clean in Canada and make it to finals! 🤞🏼
@@FigureSkatingFan Kaori Sakamoto was quoted as saying the ice was too hard and that toe jumps were particularly difficult. And people who watched the event live said the ice looked uneven even after being resurfaced after the Pairs SP (who also had considerable and tragic splats), so I believe the theory that the ice wasn't in great condition for the events on Friday and it might have been somewhat fixed afterwards. May not have been enough though... In the Free, if you pay attention to Nathan when he enters the ice, it looks to me that he noticed something isn't right and that's why he popped his jumps.
Как говорит русская пословица Любишь кататься, люби и саночки возить. Фигурное катание травматичный вид спорта. И очень жаль любимых фигуристов, когда он и получают травмы. Хотелось бы чтобы этого было меньше
I had known before Nathan will fall in USA. But I can't tell what I must not tell. Just warn. Well it is not as bad as if the rink floats. But just don't know. Maybe it never happens because one event in China in 2021 has been moved to Italy. I hope so.
@@kadovax6567 i just knew before something happened. It crossed my mind like glimpse. But actually i am not sure who he or she will be until something really happen. It is like a blur glimpse like I watch movie of some event but I don't know where or the victim will be. About something accident i also hope it would never happen. 🙏
No for real I was so scared watching the whole men sp yesterday😭😭 I can't bear watching them fall every single time, and it's especially so heartbreaking when they cried😢 I can just hope they'll be okay😭💔
May I ask a naive technical question here? I heard that in men’s FS, maximum of 8 jumps are allowed (am I right?), but why we typically just see seven in reality?
It was 8 jumping passes in 4.30 minutes before 2018. There's a rule change and now it's 7 jumping passes in 4 mins. You can refer to our video here which explains some of the rules: th-cam.com/video/JA14AFNG300/w-d-xo.html

Kevin’s fall was so scary after his attempt of the back counter entry on the axel. Makes us appreciate Yuzu even more.
YES!
Yuzu is a GOAT but of course even he falls hard sometimes...he is still human after all, mostly xD
Yes.. but I appreciate him more for his courage ❤

I'm not his fan, but I have to admit that. Maybe judges don't want him to get another medal.
@@akas224 Maybe the judges don't want the score gap between Nathan and Shoma to be too far I guess 😅🤔
@@yutingsooi5691 yes, it's likely that. Looks like Nathan must be first in some way or the US fed is going to complain?
Maria, to me, it's more Nathan PCS being too high than Shoma and Vincent PCS being too low.
Shun Sato really shocked me, that kid is amazing too but damn he had a Shoulder Dislocation. Really SkAM is quite cursed 😬
He is! I was so rooting for him especially after learning what happened to him during the practice..
@@FigureSkatingFan I hope he gets proper medical attention and get's his shoulder blade back in position 😬

Sometimes I feel that Nathan doesn’t really perform well when he’s competing in America but performs very well when he’s in other countries 🤣🤣🤣
Well, he won SA 4 times, so I don't think so.

Просто что-то невероятное в мужской короткой программе, ужас 🤦♀️
