They did not react much to the goji, ion dragon fight becuz they thought goji is killing his own( kaiju kind ) so they think it's best that they kill each other than to face one kaiju then another. Then they didn't notice becuz i think that they thought Goji already "killed" the people in the city and only thought that mecha g is humanity's failsafe to defend themselves, so i think they thougjt that mecha g is on their side but they didn't have any context what was really happening.
