Wizard is a pure caster dps, pretty amazing. Ranger can do a lot of ranged dps with their bow but they are designed to pop in and out of melee and ranged. Summoners are a pet class ranged dps.
@@Redbeardflynn nice. I think I'll check out wizard. I just need to stay healthy so I can actually do the big grind for levels. As I recall it takes a long time just to level up.
They made the steam players wait a day longer, it's to bad, because now founders have to wait a day to have a full group. :P Just teasing, cya tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to listening to updates and I'm trying to figure out how I can contribute. I died to a small brown rat and I don't know if it's a glitch but the ranger did not get a starting Quest like some of the other classes seem to have, and so yeah after perpetually dying to a rat I logged off after about an hour. Should I have picked a different class instead of a Dying Ranger hell no! LOL maybe will monk up tonight
I dont think there's necessarily class starting quests for everyone. Some overlap like wiz/enc/summoner in Thronefast. Dire lords have their own, but there's also quests at the huntress and such. Still main thing atm is just go out and slaughter...and craft...and fall off cliffs.
was looking forward to play this game but when I want to start it I get a message telling me "Steam Log in Failed" so do you know why? I reale want to ply.
You bought it on steam right? I haven't encountered that issue but you might want to hop on their discord and see if there's any issues. I think some isps were having issues blocking the game if the router is leased
@@princemalice8188 NGL it looks nice. The whole game does. Since it was created by a former EQ lover and maker it’s gonna have that EQ feel. I want to play it so bad. Waiting to get the money. Hoping I can just buy it off the website I don’t use steam anymore really.
SO. to you guys who are oldschool everquest players, I have basically played every single EQ TLP server for the past few years, and I am looking for a new game. The only MMO that even came CLOSE to me playing as often was Classic WoW. In yall's honest opinion, how is pantheon? extremely unfinished? Or is it worth playing but needs a lot of polish to shine?
Extremely unfinished: Yes. The core is there though and it is fun. Expect sweeping changes for now and even wipes. Development velocity is pretty fast at the moment. The world as of now is already pretty big and very dangeorous. You get the same sense of a cruel unforgiving world as in EQ. Danger is so real it is getting your blood pumping. Running through an unknown territory at night with just a torch is terrifying. I have not have that much fun in an MMO for a long time.
It's very unfinished. But it's also very fun. If you enjoy eq id honestly be surprised if you don't have a lot of fun in pantheon. But just keep in mind that if you're wanting a more complete game the longer you can wait the more complete it'll get. So just something to keep in mind. Also remember that ea will have wipes though they don't want to do them often.
I asked for a refund after playing 5 mins. This game is an exact copy of Everquest. It's straight-up worse in every way to EQ2, or EQ1 for that matter.
Yes it will be wiped. It's still in testing and growing. But if you're excited to play it's worth it. Having a blast myself but honestly I might be reset pilled with mmos after so many progression servers on eq...so many times I've started over in Freeport 😅
None of your group do quests ,just grind mobs .surprising it took 10 years for a game with what looks like no actual story ark to work through ,how do you get a sense of progression ?
You can do quests, but this is not theme park like WoW. Quests are not the way to progress, they are just supplementary and sometimes even hidden. The sense of progression comes from levels, gear and crafting. There is a big backstory for the world and there is a perception system that is just not fully fleshed out yet, giving you hints.
This is classic EQ style of progressing. Back when u are thrown into a huge fantasy world with thousands of other people. The only way to progress is to explore, fight random mobs, and group up in dungeons. Quests are there, but u have to do the work yourself and literally talk to every noc u find. This is when mmos were a sandbox, not a theme park. Theme park mmos ruined the genre.
I've logged in twice, saw the horrid character models and that was the first major disappointment. Absolutely nothing about the game makes me want to continue playing. There is no draw there to inspire you to log in and level. Folks just running around SOLO, no one ooc'ing for more and the game is group based? Guess you have to live stream to get anyone in a group. Very disappointing.
@@GrimmRipper88 back when eq came out playing with thousand of others was cutting edge and something new 20 years later mmo games need content to work through since playing with thousands of players is no longer anything new

@@Redbeardflynn I cannot see any difference at all between this and EQ. So why not just play EQ? If this came out 25 years ago everyone would be saying that it's an exact copy of EQ, except unfinished. It even copies the archaic spartan UI and no map.
@@samuelspiel8855 I'd say combat would be a major difference honestly. I wouldn't say it's eq-like combat. It's closer to a much harder EQ2 or WoW classic style combat that leans harder into eq1 class roles and interdependence. The UI is just a Unity asset, Project Ghost has the exact same UI. But if you're happy in EQ, keep playing EQ. Or even play both! Thats what I'm doing.
Nah. It's heavily inspired by eq1 and evokes feelings very similar but combat itself feels different in a sort of evolved way. More like the way I wished eq2 or even vanguard had evolved combat while keeping to eq1s roots of class identity
The focus of this is group content. So much so that going solo is pretty much always less efficient, even for the best solo classes. This creates a great community, something that is really missing from most games. That is why a lot of people don't mind the sup par graphics for a game that does things no other MMO nowadays really does.
