I actually really relate to this mashup alot! Loving someone so much, yet it's unrequited. It's beyond a crush, because a crush fades. But this feeling it's an endless chase, ultimately leading to nothing. So you make rules for yourself, such as not to see him. Slowly however, you crawl back to him, craving anything he can give you. All the while he's in love with some other girl, and you can only painfully watch. In his eyes he doesn't even see a friend; although to you those same eyes, means the world. Thus you get stuck in the vortex, of a nonexistent romance, hoping to mean SOMETHING to him. Your conscious is screaming for you to get away, your soul is in constant agony around them, and your friends only enforce this. But for some reason, you keep coming to them, hoping for the warmth they once gave you. In the end however a masochistic part, is glad he's happy; even at your expense.

Wish the flourish to the conclusion had been more fused. Like, the first two verses were all Dua.
Instead, the chorus could have been:
“One, don’t pick up the phone; you know he’s only calling cause he’s drunk and alone (caught in a bad romance)
I want your love and all your lovers revenge, you and me could write a bad romance (I got new rules I count em.)
And the entire second verse would have been Gaga, rather than Dua. You have talent, just work on more equally incorporating both lyrics rather than the lyrics of one song to the beat of another. The ending of this is the best part.
I felt like making more of the lyrics by Dua actually balanced the song out better, because the background was entirely Gaga.

Mashup, as defined by Merriam-Webster: "a piece of music created by digitally overlaying an instrumental track with a vocal track from a different recording." Just because this doesn't fit your idea of what a mash-up should be, doesn't mean it strays from the established criteria to qualify its validity. Also, the vocals from both songs WERE used for this, so that just further invalidates your argument. If you think you can do better, go create your own take on this. K thanks.
