Export our oil and then buy back at a higher price. Genius.
Upuzi and then the government takes a big share from our money in the name of taxes,89 ksh is too much
Have your own refineries to produce end products instead of planning to export crude oil. Who bewitched Africans 😢
Exactly 💯
Bro we have our own refinery for local use at Changamwe. Oil is only exported as crude oil. This way it is cheaper to transport than if its purchased in different products. Its upon the buyer to go and process it
Very true indeed!!!
@@thukusimon that refinery got closed during Uhuru's tenure and turned into a storage unit
@@mimi21746 where do they refine our imported oil nowadays?
Report this abroad please...the beneficiaries are there
Low Sulphur content but high wax content making it require a heated pipeline. This is such a capital intensive and high operating cost venture, that I wonder who will be ready to put money into it. Might take the next 50 years for this to be a reality. By the way, it is in the open that the initial batch of mined (~200,000 barrels) was sold to ChemChina at a value of KES 12B. Whoever gained from it, is another question.
Explorations we get news bt wen we start exportation we don't get news
Action speaks louder than words
What about initial phase which started during Uhuru reign??? What do you mean by extraction n why so late????
The only hope kenya has if it will be handled in a transparent manner
Expecting transparency from our Kenyan leaders is like expecting blood from a Guava
There is a refinery built in Lamu port for export if I am not wrong, that is why they want to put a pipeline from Turkana to Lamu for the Lapsett project.
Bado the lamu refinery hasn’t been built yet, haijatoka hata planning stage.
Hii Lamu yetu moja yenye inalipuliwa na Shabaab kila kuchao ?😂😂
Their is no such project as a refinery being built in kenya
There's no refinary industry in lamu but there's oil extraction in lamu along Kenya- Somali border which is working since 2014 being extracted by America
If Ruto had plans to end the oil cartels, now its the time
Kenyans are the one who shall develop the country.
Hydrogen sulfide should not be an issue of downgrading our crude oil as it can be easily removed by steel wool filtration.
They mentioned it contains lower levels though. So a plus,
@@JLanoyes you have understood the explanation well. Meaning it is better than other countries explorations.
Comprehension and you, miles apart.
They have lower levels, they should stop the stupidity of westerners claiming clean energy.. let’s use our dirty energy when we get levels of the west we stop all together
Wajuaji ndio wengi huku
for once citizen you had news worth watching. Kudos for this one.
Mega scandle awaiting
OK, checks done..Tullow are from Ireland UK.. question every Kenyan should be asking now is : what is Kenya gaining? After seeing what happened to West Africa, I want to know how this will benefit Kenya. Why export crude oil..People are asking...instead of refining it and selling it as so. Can citizen tv please answer these queries? C'est tout.
You need to develop refinery, it doesn't fall down from heaven. Have you asked yourself if Kenya has the right capacity to build and maintain a refinery. I mean Kenya has such a bad business environment and everything gets politicized that even that refinery building process can not happen.
Do you think we have 3 billion USD+ to build a new refinery? At most Kenya will produce 100k barrels per day, to operate a refinery successfully and not make losses, a production rate of at least 250,000 bpd is needed.
Exporting all those job opportunities alafu mnakatwa 3% to create jobs 😂😂😂
@mimi21746 Did you come to ask a question on top of a question or provide an answer..or better a solution? Old lady tales, please. Next,....
@josephmark9944 More questions... OK.. conclusion... pessimism is in the land of Kenya. Proof me wrong, 🙏🏿
It's not all about exporting rather than selling it locally and the neighboring countries..... The government should focus on refining the oil and do off with the oil crisis that has been on place for a long time
Oil is about refinement. Why Africa doesn't process its own raw materials has always always been its undoing.
Thats very good, and please tell us if you know ,what happened to the oil that was sent out for refining, during the handshake nonsense
Ur the nonsense stupid idiot
This produce should benefit the locals the country and Tullow,we don't want the bad manners of France goverment and firms in some other African countries. This oil is our treasure.
Bring companies from other places.. there's alot of gas and oil in northeastern Kenya
While turkana County is sinked poverty 😊
Story za jaba
Turkana residents wamecheswo
Finally, after the long wait, a good start of commercial production of crude in Kenya. It will reduce over taxation of Kenyans through VAT.
Endelea kuota mzee .sukar inatengezwa kenya na bado iko ghali
😂😂😂😂 dreams and hopes
Do you even understand what is VAT and its scope? if you want to avoid VAT consume fresh farm produce they are zero rated worldwide
Oil ikiingia global chain hakuna vile mtadictate price
@@kwaleboy6064 uko na uhakika gani ilikuwa inatengezwa kenya?na mbona wakulima walikuwa wanalia miwa yao haikuwa inanunuliwa hadi inapungua uzani wake?..sukari nyingi ilikuwa inaagiziwa nje kuliko ile inatengenezwa kenya kwa mda mrefu sasa..bandari inaingiza tonnes za container za sukari kila leo
Hii maneno ya Turkana oil imerudi tena?
Who benefited from initial exports??
Story za kaveve kazoze🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Promising opportunities of developing country
Do not celebrate what you don't know the terms and conditions...we will still keep importing..ordinary Kenyan will still buy expensive fuel.
😊what a good News
Very cleaver they are making this move because Kenya is going green
Another scam...we want action not empty mouthing
😂😂😂😂climate change cultist
What happened to Ngamia 1?
Still being colonised through our leadership
Why not refine the oil in Kenya? Can join with Uganda and build a regional refinery
Uganda and Tanzania are doing an oil and gas project together in Tanga, Tz. May have the regional refinery.
Then tunajiita the giant of east Africa na hutuwezi manage kuitengeneza oil refinery,,it could be better if we collaborate with ug and make our refinery together if it's expensive.
Am of the same opinion
Nayo hii ni movie ingine😂😂😂
Where are we exporting this crude oil to
Can't we buy it refine and use it here in kenya....must we export then import
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂......other bedtime stories before I sleep.
😂😂
Wajinga ndio Sisi. Let's give it out to someone 'smarter' to process it into fuel and sell it back to us. 👍🏾
why should we continue importing expensive crude oil when we can use the locally crude oil ?
Who will be the beneficiaries?
Finally some good news 🙌
I'll celebrate after accountability checks ✔️ are done and see what the country is benefiting in.
this is not good news something bad and dangerous is about to land.
Oil is mostly a curse
Let’s forget about it! Kenya 🇰🇪is in full gear towards the development and adoption of clean and renewable energy sources! We are already embracing electric mobility and production of biofuels! Hii mafuta ya turkana should be abandoned! Not needed anyway!
Your partly right and wrong at the same time..Kenya's needs foreign reverse usd to stay afloat. So the oil exportation will be a game changer
Hio story ya climate change ni PR. May forest saa hii inaisha juu ya kulift ban ya kukata mti. Oil itasaidia
Europe is playing you fools to believe in Green energy and you just buy their lies 🤣. No wonder you got Colonized
How to spot a "climate change hoax" cultist
Where is the oil?
Process and sell locally. If it's in plenty sell to neighbors in east Africa.
Good news
maprado tu😂😂
Just understand total and Nigeria own this project
Tullow is the current by-word for 'joke', in this country
Will not help wanjiku is for mafisi wenye tumbo kalai
Why export crude oil in 21st Century?😢
And the breadcrumbing circus continues...pass the popcorn please 😂
Why export it while it can be refined in Kenya?
Refinery ilifungwa 2013
News about this discovery has been scanty. What we know is that we don't have commercially viable deposits and neither do we have the infrastructure to transport it...we are kept busy news but not by progress
Why export and not use locally
Using which refinery in Kenya???
@@kabuthakabutha9472there's a refinary in Changamwe lamu

Why can't we export already refined petroleum.
What's the need of exporting crude oil while we have a refinery that domant😢??

ati exporting crude oil …. we should be exporting refined oil
😢😢what the news for? Eti exploration 😂😂... we want oil 🪔
And how are you going to get it without exploration?
Yet we do not have any oil reserve
Horrors of politics in our economic times.
Hii inataka maandamano ili cruide oil isitoke nje ya nchi,,,, kama serikali haina means heri mafuta ikae tu kuliko kuitoa ikawe refined kwengine KUUMANINA
I see as if they are trying to calm down our mind, to forget the pain they have caused to us , is this not a brain game , ruto ni nani
I see it that way too. Mind numbing the people to cling to some level of hope and route out the despair that rouses revolt.
@wanjaumaina kojoa urudi kumaliza ndoto yako
again? It has taken Century, since 2011
Wtf?! We are sold they’re about to start stealing our oil now!”helooooo”😂😂
Why export crude oil the import the finished products? Hesabu ya 1+1 inatushinda

Why export?
Why not establish a refinery here in the country?
Fuel should cost 100 max
In the near future, Kenyans will stop the crude oil from being exported 😂😂just the same way Niger state did ,i will be a happy citizen during then .
What's happening to our oil guys?
Sasa hii nayo ni nini eti we export crude oil why not sell refined one... N reduce prices too
The crude oil was sold but the money can not be traced😅😅😅😅I hope it will not be like other countries in Africa where oil doesn’t benefit citizens only few cartels.
uhuru kenyatta
Comments nyingi naona watu wanafurahi lkni hakuna kitu itakua kojoeni mlale mumalize ndoto zenu
We are telling the world we are mere educated fools. Why export crude oi if our brains are working? Kenya as a country will continue to be more poor and poorer. Who bewitched these tiny minds? Mupeane crude oil, isafishwe halafu muuziwe kwa bei kubwa zaidi. Mwatumia hakili kufikiria au kamasi? Waone!! 🙄
Give this job to our Kenyan mining Engineers.Give then required tools.
Why not Use locally is it a must we export?

True. Asimame kama Muamar Gadaffi
@@eduvanquizdevonshire4595 i wonder with some Africans prësïdëñt

@citizentv tell Tullow to contact the guy who refines plastic waste to produce fuel. Otherwise this won't work. It hasn't helped most African countries and Kenya isn't special especially under this hungry government.
😢
What will that help the common wananchi,in Iran with all the sanctions they face, petrol is $3 per litre,
two batches have already been stolen before even the commencement of the project.....
Have your own refinery or sell it to dangote at least it stays in the continent
Tullow is a briefcase company, Too much talk and no tangible results. That compound seems to have never been used for like 2 years
The FDP story does not have facts. FDP is with the Authority to interrogate it for advice to CS for approval. Then forward to the Parliament for ratification. Consult government for facts and am sure the truth is there I believe.
Wooi poor people. Poverty still in the door no matter what. No hope
