That sofa with the blue stripes and the marigold silk pillow with the silver trapper screen behind it is delightfully seared in my brain. When I redid my home 16 years ago, I took a cue from his first book which recounted his West Hollywood office with its mocha walls and chalky turquoise ceiling. My living room has been repainted in the same colors over the years, and still looks beautiful!
