Yeah I don't think any artist goes into school saying "I totally want to do air brush effects for cars!" or anything like that. You just find what suits you and stay with it. I've been a comic / manga artist for almost 20 years now but I always wanted to do work on tattoos. However, I can tell by this video, that I just could not. She said the most random thing she could thing of and he just started making it. I have a LOT of respect for that skill. I need frame of reference to do anything.

tattoes seldom look good,many times they turn into bloobs of green and black ink, most peole regret them. Here in Florida many people have them, you see a good looking gal, then you see a big black mark on her neck, legs, back? not so beautiful. I have seen some hat are tastful and in places to be covered easy, however most people see these tat peps as not forward looking people. Also the easy id for those that may find themselves on the wrong side of the law or government!!!!!
