    Have you ever tried a Veg Chicken? Believe me, you will be surprised at how much like the real thing this veg chicken tastes!
    This veg chicken is completely vegan. So it is a vegan chicken recipe. This veg chicken is also known as seitan and is made from gluten which is a wheat protein found in flour. For a flavouring, we add onion powder & garlic powder and some Kashmiri red chili powder.
    The Process of making veg chicken has just 4 simple steps: making the dough, washing the dough, shaping the dough, cooking it and then it is ready to be used in your favourite recipe.
    I have shared the recipe of a veg chicken curry and KFC Style Fried Chicken too!
    You can make these KFC Style Chicken & any Chicken curry and fool anyone!

    Recipe :
    Veg Chicken/ Vegan Chicken/ Seitan
    Preparation Time: 40 minutes
    Cooking Time: 10 minutes
    Ingredients:
    5 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
    1 tsp salt
    Method:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
    Gradually add the water to the dry mixture, stirring until the dough comes together.
    Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
    Soak the dough in water for 30 minutes. Now rinse well to remove all starch.
    Cut the dough into small pieces or strips. Wrap over a wooden spoon to make mock chicken legs.
    In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
    Add the mock chicken pieces to the boiling water and let them simmer for 8 -10 minutes, or until the mock meat is firm and cooked through.
    Remove the mock meat from the broth and let it cool.
    Use the seitan in your favourite recipes.
    Veg KFC
    Preparation Time: 40 minutes
    Cooking Time: 10 minutes
    Ingredients:
    400g Veg chicken
    ¼ cup flour
    2 tbsp panko bread crumbs
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    ½ tsp white pepper powder
    ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
    Salt to taste
    Oil to fry
    Method:
    Mix together all the dry ingredients.
    In a bowl, take 2 tbsp corn flour and add ½ cup water.
    Dip the chicken pieces in the corn slurry. Roll in bread coating and deep fry the pieces in medium hot oil. Serve.
    Veg Chicken Curry
    Preparation Time: 40 minutes
    Cooking Time: 10 minutes
    Ingredients:
    4 tbsp oil
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    1 cup sliced onions
    1 cup sliced tomatoes
    ¼ cup cashew nuts
    1 tsp red chili powder
    1 tsp coriander powder
    1 tsp garam masala powder
    1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    Salt to taste
    400g Veg Chicken
    1 tsp kasuri methi
    Method:
    Heat oil in a pan. Add the bay leaves and the cumin seeds and allow to splutter.
    Add the sliced onions, cashew nuts and cook till translucent. Add the sliced tomatoes and the ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw ginger garlic smell disappears.
    Add the powdered spices and mix well.
    Remove from heat and grind to a fine paste with ½cup cold water.
    Return the paste to the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes and add the veg chicken pieces. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Add 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add salt to taste. Top with kasuri methi and serve.
