I know that I am a bit late to the game, but Out of Order’s “Paradise Lost” from 1986. Great punk with metal tinge. Amazing overlooked album!

I like your nerd Talk a lot.
I am missing the Ruts here - i think Grin&Bear it was more a compilation? The Crack is one of my favourite records of the first punk Wave.

The ruts is great and I had to like the Ruts to be able to sing in Fake Names! So...

Great video, i feel like germ free adolescent is one of the greatest albums of all time, a truly perfect album, NMTB too people can't deny how influential those two albums are, learning about these two bands really made me inspire by the fact that you don't need to be good or perfect to do great music.
i also watched the Danny Boyle series and was all right i mean not accurate but really entertaining, the acting was the best thing tho

My mention would be the political hardcore band Groundwork from Tuscon Arizona. Their debut Today We Will Not Be Invisible Nor Silent from 1994 is a pure masterpiece. It was reissued in the last weeks. They had also a split with Unbroken. Members of the band have been later in Absinthe and 400 Years.

For me the band Shoulder comes to mind that has only one album called Touch. It was followed by an incredible 7“ and even a Split-7“ with Morning Again. Later on some members of Shoulder formed the band Constantines that released on Sub Pop…

I liked Steve's book a lot more than I liked Pistol, which I found excruciating to watch. The Hynde characterization was embarrassing. I generally like Boyle's work too. To each their own and all that.

Because you asked: Yeah I saw "Pistol"- I thought it told a good story. I don't know, and don't care if it's entirely accurate, but that's how I approach movies & TV- even documentary, it's just a question of if it's a good story. The truth is in real life. As for a great "Punk/Hardcore" 1 LP wonder- it might be cheating a little, but I'll say "Wine is Red, Poison is Blue" by Poison 13. Yes, I know, that's a compilation of their two mini-LPs, but who could locate those two mini LPs, even in 1985, when they were new? But, you have some excellent choices- and while I have personal connections to several, I think it's more than just old weirdo poseurs who would agree. Hit up Walter for a copy of the Gorilla Biscuits LP- He's always been one of the nicest guys around ( He even was nice when I was chatting with him while everyone was searching for Tom, only to find out Tom was being arrested. I mean, nice to the fans while your guitar player is getting busted? That's pretty cool)
