  • A HUGE Repsonse of many Fire Trucks and engines from different stations from the Canadian city of Montrèal Fire Department / Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (SIM) are seen responding to a high rise structure fire in the downtown district with smoke showing. Units responding include the BRAND NEW Ladder 420, Rescue 613, Operations Chief 132, and an unmarked Dodge Caravan Supervisor Unit of the Montrèal Police Service / Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SVPM).
    You can also see Engine 205 and Ladder 405 turning out of their home station, along with the station tones. Station 5 in the busiest firehouse in Quebec!

    That driver at 2:51 is a model to all citizens. When emergency vehicles are responding, get out of the way no matter what. That driver completely canceled their turn to let that engine pass. Remember people, time is everything

    There sure seemed to be a lot of confusion and lack of hustle despite smoke showing! Was expecting lotsa noise, hoses being stretched and lots of personnel around.
    Could the call not have been as thought?
    Smart rigs!

    • @dragonemergencyvideos
      @dragonemergencyvideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no idea why they were hanging around so much 🤔 Seemed as if they were waiting for something or someone. The confusion was probabily caused by the language barrier between me and the other guy who first called 911 (who was from the states) and the Call operator, as neither of us spoke French or knew the area

    • @jameslarosa5074
      @jameslarosa5074 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I thought the opposite after watching it. I thought it was super organized, especially for the amount of resources. What I think happened is the first few trucks who responded already entered the building and used interior hose lines to fight the fire. It was likely small and out quick. The others were all there on standby waiting to see if they were needed and for orders. I think for a fire in a tall building, it is important to have too many resources rather than too few. You can send units away faster than you can have the respond.

      @@justinbourget1560 A tender is basically a tanker carrying water. Its used in areas where there are no fire hydrants. I get the impression that the majority of Montreal has fire hydrants everywhere so it has no need for a tender.

    • @ikilleditwithfire
      @ikilleditwithfire 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Montreal has 3 tankers in the western boroughs (stations 51, 56 and 59). No tiller trucks at all. We have 52 elevation units which include 42 ladder trucks, 3 snorkels, 7 tower ladders. We also have 70 Engines, 4 hazmat units, 3 heavy rescues, 10 light rescues, 1 command post and a few dozens various vehicles. (Those are all manned units, you can add 30-40 spare units). Montreal FD runs 67 stations (all career). Also no ambulances as those are run by the health dept, but all engines respond to prio-1 medical emergencies along with the assigned ambulance.
