Man, after watching this, and current NBA games. It felt like NBA games in the 90's and very early 2000's seemed way more fast paced and intense compared to now.
First of all, great reaction video. I love how engaging you are with your reactions. It comes off as very natural and genuine. Secondly, I don't know why the narrator/creator of the video kept leaving out that huge detail that Jordan's father was murdered shortly after the Bulls won their third championship in 93. Jordan didn't wanna play the game without his father around, and decided to go back to his first love, which was baseball. During his retirement, he also filmed Space Jam. Almost 2 years later, Jordan began to miss basketball. The Bulls were struggling, which gave him extra motivation to return. He unretired towards the end of the regular season. And yes, to answer your question at the end, the 95-96 Chicago Bulls are the greatest basketball team I've ever seen.
I'd put all the reasons into one bvasket really he dominated in the first 3peat with his 41ppg performance in the finals, went to the olympics and his dad died, plus his gambling addiction was clear all of those combinned, probably not the same intensity would put someone over the edge like Mike
What the youngers don't realize, everyone was a Bulls fan. From 96-98 every Bulls games were on basic cable or broadcast tv. David Stern said the international broadcast played every Bulls game. The Bulls were pop culture.
Pippen, and Grant had the talent, and athletic ability, but lacked the Mental Toughness Of a Champion. All team practices were more intense than the games they played as MJ demanded perfection to make them think and play with a championship Mentality.
I'm from the Chi. Born and raised, left at 50 years old in 2017. We was like crack heads without crack when Jordan quit.....and I'm a football man. When he came back, it was like Jesus returned. Black Jesus. For me, basketball isn't as fun to watch. The new rules killed the skill required to get shots off which was what made the game fun. The physicality of the game. Now, everyone shooting threes. Big men too. Boring. Yes, the best team ever. You can make the case for the 86 Celtics, but I think the Bulls might be too much.
I loved your reaction and great questions. I don’t know what Pippen wanted, but I think every player got overshadowed by Jordan. Don’t take my word for it (or anyone else), look at what actual Hall of Famers had to say that had to guard MJ or try to get pass him. I personally think Pippen would have been an average player had he been drafted by another team. So in a way, he was better than he otherwise would have been.
Hey jasmine love you reactions and energy I also love the making the case series and wanted to ask could you please react to the making the case 1986 Celtics and making the case 1989 Pistons next?
56 points were scored by michael jordan in game 3 in 1992 vs the AVERAGE heat 55 points he scored 55 points in a 109-104 win in game 2 of 1997 vs the AVERAGE bullets in 1993 he scored 55 points in a 111-105 game 4 win over the ELITE suns led by star charles barkley and he scored 54 points in a 105-95 game 4 win over the elite 1993 knicks led by star patrick ewing
Scotti made MORE money contractually then MJ during both players nba careers seem crazy but it’s true MJ made his fortune thru his nike deal and endorsements
13:52. So true. The hustle in today’s game isn’t as good as the 80s and 90s. Teams now load manage to conserve energy for the playoffs, where players then like Jordan will play all 82 regular season games before the playoffs.

When MJ “retired” after the ‘92-93 season, it was pretty much seen as him being done. His 3-peat was something that Magic, Bird, and Isaiah were unable to accomplish, so he’d already passed up his peers in his eyes. Shortly after winning ring #3, his dad was murdered, so he went to play baseball, since they both loved the game and Mike was out of challenges in the NBA. So yeah, it seemed like Mike was done . . . Until MJ’s second season in the minors chasing curve balls.
The only other team that can be mentioned with the 96' Bulls is the 87' Lakers..... People talking about the Warriors being the greatest team of all time don't understand how they wouldn't exist without the heavy rule changes in the 2000's
Just a comment -- MJ and Larry Bird overlapped plenty. The Bulls just didn't have a team yet while the Celtics had a stacked dynasty. But MJ had some of his best individual games against Bird and in that era just looking at stats. I mean all those players were still playing the year that MJ got the scoring title and DPOY (and of course MVP). The Bulls just couldn't win out of the ECF yet. But once Pippen and role players developed they destroyed everyone. After that first season the Bulls finally won, several of those players started retiring -- but there was a lot of great talent still there and incoming. But he played really well against all those old school 80s players too even from the start of his rookie year.
Scottie was a great #2 who won 6 titles and was criminally underpaid. But Mj is the greatest player of all time, and scottie is top 50 player, maybe. Some people over rate him and some under rate him but scottie is a great player that benefited for play with the goat.
Pippen would have Klay Twompson slow non ball handlin azz shettin bricks!! Jordan would lock Curry down and have Steph cryin for momma!! Rodman would put DrayBUM on his azz!! Draymond would be ineffective!! If KD slender frail azz is there, then we put Pip on KD and Ron Harper to shutdown Klay!! KD would still get his shot off but he would get only about 24 to 28 points the hard way!!
when you think of how great Dennis Rodman was at rebounding, never forget how dominant Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell were at rebounding....to compare, Rodman averaged 13.1 rebounds per game, while Wilt averaged 27.2 rebounds per game for a season and Bill Russell averaged 22.5 rebounds per game for a season...Wilt had 55 rebounds in a game against Russell's Celtics!! Here's another great stat on Wilt -> March 18, 1968 Wilt Chamberlain achieved the "Quintuple Double" by scoring 53 points, 32 rebounds, 14 assists, 24 blocks, and 11 steals...although blocks and steals weren't officially recorded until '73, but somehow someone captured those stats....😲💯💥✌
True but the NBA was very different back then. It was played at a faster Pace in the field goal percentage was awful in comparison so there were far more chances for rebounds. The 60s is the most bloated era of rebounding in league history. Also Wilt and Bill Russell were both Giants in a sea of relatively much shorter and not nearly as athletic players which help them get a Competitive Edge
@@raveouscarlias4479 Bill Russel was at or below the average height for centers throughout the 60's, there were other 7 footers besides Wilt, the average height for the whole league was 6'5". For perspective it's currently 6'6", and peaked in 1987 at 6'7". The height of nba players has always been pretty much the same. Nba players have always been athletic. Bill and Wilt were both super athletes, and that will always make other people look less athletic by comparison.
Randy Brown was brought in to defend small quick point guards so that Jordan and Pip didn't have to chase them up and down the court. He was an important role player.
@@razkable *From the Chicago Tribune, March 10, 1999:* "When Brown, 30, joined the Bulls as a free agent in 1995, his role was to defend some of the league's quicker point guards."
No no no, when it comes to Phil Jackson I don't have to think about it at all. He is the greatest coach of all time. I told someone the other day if I was going to start an all-time greatest ever team I would start with Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan because they affect team culture and if I have the right team culture it's much easier to fill in the talent around them. Rather than guessing who's going to be a good fit on your team you already know because you've established a team identity...
please give me your rankings of the best bulls title teams and please give me your rankings of the best individual playoff years from legend michael jordan please factor in the 1992 bulls lost 7 playoff games by a COMBINED 82 points UNLIKE their other 5 title teams 15-6 was the record for the 1998 bulls 15-3 was the record for the 1996 bulls while 15-2 was the record for the 1991 bulls and i still recall four playoff games in their title years where more than 50 points were scored by michael jordan
As a bulls fan yes, the greatest team ever, I mean there are the Golden State Warriors 73-9 but failed to win it all, so that leaves the 96 bulls as the greatest ever.
Pippen was overshadowed by Jordan and so did the rest of the NBA stars. Im shocked he would come down as overlooked. 90% of the time he was mentioned in the same breath as Jordan. His later years he was injured and had little say in the stats. The Bulls pulled it thru anyways.
He signed a shitty 7 year 18 million contract jordantold him not to sign but he did and that's why he complained but it was his own actions even the owner told him not to sign because he doesn't renegotiate
Scottie pippen is by far one of the most underrated players ever. You would have never said that 25 years ago but time changes the minds of people. And one thing that somehow has changed in the last 25 years as Scotty is not one of the greatest players ever. I don't understand it but then again we live in a day and age where people don't even mention Patrick Ewing, Sean come, James Worthy, David Robinson. I never thought I'd see a day in such a short time period of 25 years were the players are not part of the lexicon of basketball anymore.
People don't realize how good pippen was on d...having pip mj rodman harper luc on the floor at the same time was like jail for most teams...they could lock up anyone
Us old heads knew without Pip Jordan was the best player in the league on below average teams, I was a Boston fan back then, before Pip I nevered feared Chicago, yeah Jordan might get 63 but as long as Bird got us 42 we'd win by 1, shit, after Pip it was a different story, also, a young Ron Harper was not quite Mike but wasn't too far off and plus played on a better team, in 1996 the NBA was supposed to belong to a young Orlando team that had Illinois star Nick Anderson on it, the Bulls destroyed that team if I remember correctly and poor Nick was never the same, that team was the best Bulls team and statistics wise the best ever.
MJ & ScottiePippen started same time with Bulls develop & both made improvements as great players. overshadowed by MJ?Yes!Coach Phip Jackson game winning strategies was built around Mj abilities to one on one called isolation ball or hero ball counting on MJ dominances unlike today NBA relying on teamwork eg Lebron James, unreliable at time & too many flaws.
If funny the millennium fans always repeat the same ,they said Lebron never has a a coach like Phil Jackson I 54 years old and I remember when Phil Jackson start coaching the bulls he don’t have any experience in the nba he was a rookie coach Michael Jeffrey Jordan make Phil Jackson so please check history
Phil is the most accomplished but I don’t think hes the best X’s and O’s coach. I think Pop has that. And when it comes to recruiting and scouting talent, I’d say red Auerbach. Red was a basketball genius on all fronts. My Mount Rushmore is Phil, Pop, red, and maybe pat riley.
💥💥 making the case? In my opinion I think the 1996 Chicago bulls probably are the best team ever. The only other teams that have something to say about that would be the 1986 Celtics, 1987 Lakers, 1983 Sixers, 2016/ 2017 golden state. 1972 Lakers, 1968 Sixers. On a side note the bulls title team that constantly gets overlooked is the 1997 bulls that team went 69-13 during the season a year after going 72-10 in 1996. I give you a team that probably would've been considered one of the greatest teams but an injury derailed them. This was before I was born, I was born in the mid 80s but the 1978 Portland trail blazers. They was the defending NBA champions and they started the season 50-10. Then Bill Walton got injured for the season and playoffs and they finished 8-14 the rest of the season without him and finished with a 58-24 record they ended up losing in the playoffs
The Bulls 1995-1996 Team was the greatest because they dominated like no other. They started the season, 37-0 at home, which was part of an NBA-record 44-game home-winning streak that began at the end of the '94-'95 regular-season....and they completed the season with a Championship Title....something the Warriors couldn't do against the Cavaliers after being up 3 games to 1 in the Finals...✌.
Todays NBA is a sham. The phisical battle against the strongest teams in the world was the pinacle of the NBA. Today there is no pinacle. Its hohum play and nothing to see. I dont watch basketball anymore because it lacks those qualities.
Nah...when your best bench scorer is kerr considering rodman as more of a 7th man on offense scoring passing wise then your roster isn't that deep...which it wasn't....back then having two and a half guys in the front court like pippen kukoc plus caffey able to shoot from 3 was a luxury...
There's never been a team as good as the 2017 warriors were on offense....when you have prime kd curry klay green and former finals mvp iggy not to mention some actual size with mcgee za za and west plus livingston and even ian clark off the bench your team is stacked...no team ever measures up to that on paper.....they had no weakness....patrick mccaw was an after thought on this team thats how loaded they were....they didn't need kevon looney in the playoffs who was hurt that postseason and no one noticed....it's like a more skilled 1985 lakers who were the deepest skilled team ever pre 21st century imo...they werent as top heavy as say the 96 bulls or 01 lakers and they weren't as limited as the old black and white celtics...they could beat anyone in any era imo pre 2015 onwards when the three point shot became more potinent....that's the team with prime magic worthy coming into his own and a still very capable 25 and 10 having kareem plus a still solid bob mcadoo a entering his prime byron scott and a prime michael cooper off the bench as a 6th man scorer not to mention mike mcgee who could get 10 if he wanted any night as a 7th option on a team with 6 guys capable of getting 12 to 24 each most nights...the warriors were a better version of that with kerr as their riley motivater coach
Phil is a great coach but no not the best. This isn't that strong a team. Their big men weren't that great. Jordan, Pippen and Rodman were very strong. Rest of the league wasn't that strong. 1986 Celtics were better with five HOF players and 1987 Lakers were a stronger team too.
I remember a young Jordan torching the Celtics in the playoffs. It was one game, but they could not stop him. That was a less seasoned Jordan, with no where near the 1996 roster. Jordan also shut down the last hurrah of the 1980s Lakers with a lesser Bulls team. Every team has a weakness, There’s was average big men and studs to make up for that deficiency.
@@jmac3977 Jordan didn't torch the Celtics. As K.C. Jones said later "We didn't really try to stop Michael, he couldn't outscore our team and I didn't want to injure a starter by trying to stop him." He scored 63 but the Celts had five starters that could each give you twenty and Bird that could match him if he needed to. Jordan was a pretty famous ball hog in his early years. I am a Jordan fan but I am realistic about him. He didn't come into the league at 6'6 with the ability to dominate. He had to add some muscle. He hit the game winning shot in the NCAA his freshman year but wasn't that outstanding in college. He played very well in the 84 Olympics though. So he was a standout individually but because the rest of his team was weak nobody was worried that much about it.
@@marykuettner752 There may be some truth to that, but I think K.C. Jones was covering a bit for their inability to contain Jordan. I didn't see anyone taking it easy on Jordan in that game, and if they did it was bad tactic. The Celtics didn't easily beat the Bulls as that game went to two over times. I have also never heard of anyone concerned they might injure a player by trying to stop Jordan. That sounds like a pretty weak excuse.
@@blanketstarry7725 K.C. isn't the only coach to voice that about Jordan. One great player wasn't going to beat a good team. James Worthy who played with Jordan in college talked about defending him. I won't retype it because you can easily find it. Essentially Jordan can't beat a good team if you make him work for every point.
@@marykuettner752 I didn't say anything about Jordan beating a whole team. I said I didn't see anything in that game that would seem like they were taking it easy on him, and I said it was a bad strategy if they actually did that because he scored a record amount of points against them and it went to double overtime...it is hard to get a closer game then double overtime. And, we are talking here about that one game. As good as MJ played in that game, if one person could be a whole team, he would have done it then...but that isn't what we are talking about.

Bo Jackson did it as well #2sports
Bill Russell coach at Boston Phil Jackson Chicago Pat Riley and the Lakers 🐐 the Spurs coach popovich
MJ & ScottiePippen started same time with Bulls develop & both made improvements as great players. overshadowed by MJ?Yes!Coach Phip Jackson game winning strategies was built around Mj abilities to one on one called isolation ball or hero ball counting on MJ dominances unlike today NBA relying on teamwork eg Lebron James, unreliable at time & too many flaws.
personally i would put either pat riley or KC jones in front of phil jackson. but you know im biased to what i saw in my lifetime.
His dad was murdered
His father got killed so he retired
Warriors have offense but have ZERO DEFENSE, Bulls have everything... so go figure.
Yes the 96 Bulls are the best ever.
As K.C. Jones said later "We didn't really try to stop Michael, he couldn't outscore our team and I didn't want to injure a starter by trying to stop him."
He scored 63 but the Celts had five starters that could each give you twenty and Bird that could match him if he needed to.
Bo Jackson was another 2 sport beast!
HERE YOU GO JASMINE, WIKI INFO ON M.J.: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jordan
I watch that whole season I was in such awe it's still the greatest team in history, today's NBA is so weak and soft I hate even trying to watch it
