Some people have without any reason found it necessary to compare this rendition with Rafi Sahab! I don't know why people should ever compare a live rendition of a contemporary artist with an official recording of a master singer, and that too the voice incarnation of the Lord himself in Rafi Sahab. Those without knowledge of music may not even grasp that this is perhaps among one of the most difficult of Rafi songs composed in Rag Darbari. Even to get into the flow of this song is difficult; leave alone render it in perfect sur, taal and lai as Anil Bajpai has done. You will not hear many professional singers dare to attempt this song live on the stage. Anil Bajpai has the ability to do so, and has done a wonderful job. Hats off to him.

If you are a highly trained listener with great classical music knowledge and have listened to the original Version in that era of Rafi Saab then I have no qualms with you, but if you are a singer yourself and have tried singing this song then I doubt you will have anything other than praise for Anil’s efforts.

It's toughest of Rafi Sahib's song. Not easy to sing also, for it renders a rare kind of feeling through out. Though Anil Bajpai's attempt on this song is appreciable, he did not win in doing justice to this song atleast. Admittedly he sung many of Rafi Sahib's songs quite well.
