Wow. I love the ships. The epoxy water, not so much tbh. Would have loved it if it looked more realistic with choppy waves covering the top and the water slowly turning more opaque and a deep blue green as it goes deeper. Yes i know "everyone's a critic" 😂 but this is genuinely a cool project that inspires me to come up with some ideas of my own. So don't hate me. Just wish i had the time and talent to do this myself
I had a similar opinion but my critique was that he never addressed the packing tape imprints on the sides and bottom. & I was also hoping for waves.

great idea......great models......amazing video........lots of talent. The tape and tape lines though....wonder if the tape could be removed from the bottom and the whole deal set back on some a wood base that had a 'ocean' looking paint job. Even the 'still' water was ok ....... but the blue tape killed it for me. Now i will say ...... i have had plenty of 'blue tape' choices in my life. You do it again and improve !
My problem is that this would not be a battle; aircraft carriers have about seven ships protecting it. Also most new aircraft carriers have anti-aircraft guided missiles and not anti-aircraft guns.

This is a really impressive work. Just a piece of information you might want to have in mind.
The wake you created, it's just behind the ships.
In reality the wake has a 19.5 degree angle on each side of the vessel,starting from the bow of the ship.

Great diorama, but why is the Tirpitz firing at point blank on the Enterprise!? If I were you, I would have done Hood vs Bismarck or maybe Iowa vs Yamato. None the less amazing display!!

The water surface and waves are unrealistic. The water surface in open seas are never crustal clear and glass like. Unless it is deployed and anchored near a coast or port. A combat vessel such as aircraft carrier and battleship is never stationary, because they are excellent target. During an sea battle, warship travels at combat speed, a 90,000 ton aircraft carrier and 50,000 ton Tirpitz would make significant waves.And in the history of all naval battle, no aircraft carrier has directly engage another combat vessel. Air carrier send out aircraft to fight, the aircraft carrier never sees the enemy ship. Battle of midway is considered one of the greatest naval battle, aircraft carrier from both side never saw each other. You diorama of USS Enterprise engaging DKM Tirpitz is pretty much impossible.

Check prices for epoxy...every layer needs a day or 2 to cure...time AND money. Think...

The BB would of destroyedn the carrier and then you make the BB (Bismarck or Tirpitz) Get the most damage I'm a bit ticked off about that

So much detail....NO wetering on the ships.....They look like freshly painted, which makes it look very artificial.....Specially the carrier..You put more attention to the wooden board under it.....A huge downfall to the whole presentation....Thumbs down
Great job, looks cool! But the editing at the end showing it all off was a bit too jumpy and didn't quite give any good long captures of what it looks like.
Some explanation of what you're doing instead of bad music choices would be nice. But hey, 712k subscribers would probably say I'm wrong, so what do I know?

Dude , I hate to spoil your hard work here , But the aircraft carrier didn't come around til 1960 . The German Bismarck that you have there was fighting in the waters in the early 1940's of Nazi Hitler times . If you really wanted to make this an amazing piece of history you would need the Bismarck which you already have and the British HMS Hood that Bismarck broke in half and sink in 1941 .
Nice job wish I had time and patience to do this.

Great! Just one question, though.How did you stop the Epoxy resin from melting tghe plastic kits? I've seen videos where they melt away when Epoxy hits them.
Not every Epoxy creates the same amount of heat while curing and the depth of the pour also plays a role. It's possible the people you watched went above the recommended depth
Slow set epoxies shouldn't heat up as much because the chemical reaction takes place over a longer period of time and has time to radiate off. Perhaps this is a reason why? Idk what kind he uses
@@badw01f23 You could well be right! I'd always assumed it was because of a chemical reaction between the resin and the plastic that melts them (much like Acetone melts plastic kits) but I might be mistaken.
If it IS temperature related, then mixing less hardener with the Resin might be a way of cooling down the reaction enough to avoid melting. Some experimentation will have to be done :-)
My aim would be to completely encase my models in a block of clear Resin, so they would never get damaged, and might possibly survive for decades.
Jeffrey Barton geometry matters: thin sheets won’t get too hot, but thick blocks will get warm, which can cause the reaction to speed up, and cause the resin to get even warmer, etc. This can cause 30-minute resins to cure in 5 minutes and reach >60C if you cast too thick! Slower curing resins also allow more time for bubbles to escape

that USS enterprise carrier was the same class as the USS Yorktown and USS Hornet, which were both sunk by a submarine, although it they were owned by Japan instead of Germany

While the construction is great, being a historian of WW2, your portrayal of the scene is severely lacking. The Enterprise was in the Pacific... the Tripitz was in the Atlantic, not to mention no way a Battleship would get that close to a Fleet carrier.
Typical World of Warships, noob Premium Tirpitz owners can't sink a CV from point blank!

I'm sorry i would not been able to do something like this, but i saw much much much better effects with waves etc... Ships are beautifull but the water is not very special.
I have no idea what you have done with the submarines trail. You should have done whatever the fuck you have done for torpedo trails, not for the propulsion, or at least very lighter
What if you did a completely clear layer on top and turn it into the worlds coolest table. Outstanding work btw!
With all of the work put into this the sides and bottom should have been cleaned up and buffed. The wrinkled tape looks is WAY too apparent.
I would have much prefered a battleship vs battleship scenario, but otherwise great job👍.

I would suggest adding more waves, the feeling of a warship battle would probably be better if there were noticeable waves with splashes, foam, etc. The ocean is too perfectly flat here.
Looking this after 4 years in 2024, it still gives me a lot of nostalgia. Great job.👍👍👍
