As a non Argentina fan, but a HUGE Messi fan, this is what I'll say in response to the guys that think Argentina have no shot, they are the same cats that just said they picked Germany to win it all...….. Also, soccer has always been a sport where if you are organized enough, and focused for 90 minutes, you can beat anybody, and now more than EVER that has proven to be the case with all the upsets, or potential upsets we've seen. France came into this tournament as an upstart team that could be part of the last 4 to compete for the Cup, but I haven't seen all that praise displayed on the field in any of the 3 group matches. I think this is a LOT more interesting of a matchup than many of these pundits, and if Argentina can stay organized enough in the back and firm in the middle, they do have the ultimate X-factor on the pitch that can decide the game with one burst of lightning. I'll just leave it at that

It was not until Caballero had that brain fade moment , that Croatia came anywhere near the goal. Modric's goal was a piece of individual brilliance and the third goal was just Argentina gave up in the dying minutes. The scoreline makes it look far worse that they actually have been. And all the brilliance in the midfield doesnt do shit , Spain's games bear the testimony of that fact .

Croatia dominated the midfield the entire game so much so that people were left questioning why Messi gave up. Messi was never really a threat and the only place he could really consistently get the ball was to come way back to his defenders or stay way out wide. And Croatia has a good mid field but kante is the best cdm in the world and you put him on messi with Messi have no real options to pass to and it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Argentina builds the attack much slowly and seem to get out of ideas in the final stages. Too much reliance on Messi. In playoffs, their performance was very low when Messi was not playing and his return made a big difference. Let's hope Messi tunes in well in the next game and a set piece or two finds the net. France have been playing very sluggish also, so pumped up Argentina might eek out ahead.
France has pretty solid defense if anything. Argentina struggles to create chances and score in this tournament against even weak, mediocre teams so good luck to Argentina scoring against France. If France gets the lead they'll run with it and maybe make it 2 or 3 on counter attack. Argentina's only chance is to get the lead somehow or put the game on 0-0 and go to Extra Time. That's reality for you folks
