Yes, this was GREAT drama. This actually aired in January of 2006. That's when current headwriter Jean Passanate could actually write for the show unlike now. One of the most memorable stories in current years is the baby switch of Jennifer and Gwen's baby. Heartbreaking, dramatic and great drama!
As the World turns opening from 1981 til 1993 that was the best opening that As the World turns ever had the World turning in space and here comes the letters in gold they meet and from there comes spotlight of three beams that opening should have been never changed should have keep that opening til AS THE WORLD TURNS went off the air on September 2010 !!!
I'm not the biggest ATWT fan, but I do remember watching the show during this storyline not to long ago. I am NOT an Emily Stewart fan, but Kelley Menighan Hensley should have gotten an Emmy nomination/win for her work in this storyline. She did a great job.
She ended up getting a nom the next year it seemed it was a one year late move. She would have been nominated in 07 and won had it not been for Genie Francis stint. I don't think they would give to Lesli Kay. When she got nominated the next year the process changed. The actors, mostly the west coast ones especially Y&R, were not watching the reels so the most votes for nomination won. Gina won over her. I do not believe Judi Evans, Heather Tom, and Tracy Bregman had any chance.
Jack Cortner rocks for creating every version of this theme song. It would be even cooler if he had wrote words to the song like his Edge of Night theme. And this is the best logo atwt has ever had or will ever have! It was the most realistic visual they ever used aside from the blue spotlight beams which i believe were used for special effect.
I personally feel this music fits the mood of the this soap more than what they have now, and this clever splicing of new and old only proves that it still would be an awesome theme to use on the current episodes. I wish that the powers that be @ Proctor & Gamble should recycle this Jack Cortner composition for their current episodes of ATWT.
I love this opening, but I do not think it was used when emily shot paul. This one was used back when they had the Emily with the long brown hair, right?
