There's a lot of videos on TH-cam about fishing and camping etc but I think yours are some of the best I've seen. Absolute awesome places you guys go. Keep up these terrific videos
So glad you said what you said at the end mate, it’s such an important message to leave a small impact in these areas, huge respect to you for the way you’ve chosen to travel. Another cracking episode 🙌
Thanks guys. We definitely live by that. We have so much respect for the bush and all the critters big and small that live in it. Stoked you are enjoying the episodes. Thanks for the comments and we'd really appreciate a share if you have time. Its hard to get the content out in front of people.
Hello Nathan and to your friend with you guys well done just amazing to watch you both having a great time good on ya fella's take care everyone God bless you all thanks for sharing love it cheers from far north Queensland tablelands
Thanks fellas, Dan and I love your channel too. Been watching for a while now. Love the Territory so it’s nice to see you guys push to the most remote areas. 👍🏻
That is truly a great moto. Just taking what you need, and keeping the up with conservative economic friendly advice that you two are putting out there. For the rest of the world 🌎 to see. It to me is really awesome, great video and great content. 💯👍💯👍
Couple of genuine Aussie blokes, won’t watch much of this stuff much anymore as it becomes a pissing contest to see who can spend the most money, at least you guys seem down to earth 👍
I understand what you’re saying mate. I see the same thing but at the same time we’re always trying to make what we do 1: more fun and 2: more practical so we can spend more time in the bush making more content. ..
Hey Townsville sound, yep I think you are spot on. The Wenlock River is its own little eco system and is LOADED with wildlife. such a special place. I haven't spotted a barking owl yet but plenty of Night jars and Papuan Frogmouths.
the trick cooking barra skin is after ya scale it, slice it into squares and a bit of rice flower and deep fry low 120c till golden and crispy, works with tuna skin as well
Great job guys. I camp and fish almost every weekend regardless of the weather and love the life. Only gripe I have is sometimes your music is is loud and commentary is quieter. I find I’m turning the volume up and down a lot. Apart from that awesome adventures. Keep them coming.
Great to hear you are living the life mate and thank you for your support and comments. Ill look into that volume issue. We're constantly learning so really appreciate the feedback. New episode coming out today which is a ripper!
hold around the reel, a lot better on the hands and wrist specially throwing lures and catching fish all day. noticed at the 30 min mark looked like was having bit trouble. specially when hook the big girls feels a lot better around the reel. each to own but give it a try :)
Thanks Floyd. Glad you liked it. Good feedback because we’ve been concerned the episodes are too long. We originally planned 12 minute episodes but too much happens in a day!
hi there I love the show, I have done similar things when younger but being an idiot for I was allway's on my own. What I found out to help me through the shallows was a small parachute for it does the dragging for me. I had a 24 inch military one, but I suppose a sea anchor would do the job. It may help in the future,
Wow, what an idea, thanks mate. I was considering making up some kind of inflatable contraption with more surface area than the boat to float the vessel over flats but that's a while off coming together...
BTW Australian crocs behave very similarly to Nile crocs so I know what I'm telling you is safe and not misleading. I'm a survivor of a croc attack!!! it was only 420mm long and I was engaged in research measuring croc growth rates :)
Yep this river is truly amazing. In the Salt Water stretches yes they can grab a fish if its a long fight but in the freshwater they seem to be different beasts. Very stealth like and cunning. So no Iv never had one taken in the fresh.
Hey mate, its just not something thats big here in Aus so I didnt think of it but yes its a great idea. I see the fly guides doing it in Florida and looks really effective. Next trip mate.
@@WildReaches thanks for being so responsive. Love your channel. Just kinda trying to participate from my perspective. The closest I can get to your barimundi/croc thing is salmon/bear thing. Keep up the good work.
FYI when crocs or any wildlife see you they cannot identify you as a human or an animal if you are sitting in a boat or a vehicle. They see the shape as a large living creature. We call it the boma effect in Africa. When you STEP away from a tree/boat/vehicle, thats when you are most vulnerable. Animals can see you as a moving mammal and will decide if the size of you warrants the risk. Its a universal rule of the thumb for bush people/game rangers/wardens the world over. And 75% of the time wild animals have an inbuilt fear of the human shape. Im afraid that does not apply to crocs!! They are not very mentally deep! So stay sitting in the boat or huddled up next to a tree and you will be ok!!
Thanks mate. That makes sense from what we've seen in the wild. Iv always put it down to how much danger would the animal put itself in to come and attack me. they are cunning creatures in my opinion and will wait for an opportunity. Appreciate your information mate

God I was on edge guys for that ep! Dam I could feel your pain when that Barra snapped off
Haha so cool ur working your way thru them all Newport. Glad ur enjoying them
Another awesome episode boys! would love to hike that river one year
Thanks guys. We’ve thought the same thing. Hike a big section of it. 👍🏻
The weird night bird noises are probably Papuan Frogmouth, Nightjar (prob large tailed) or Barking owl.

Great stuff mate, reminds me of my time in Australia. Amazing fishing in Queensland. Keep it up 🤘
Thanks Chris.
So good!
Thanks Sean!

40 minutes felt like 10, another cracking episode.
Thanks Floyd. Glad you liked it. Good feedback because we’ve been concerned the episodes are too long. We originally planned 12 minute episodes but too much happens in a day!
make the episodes as long as they need to be. If it’s an action packed day then 40 minutes it is. If not much happens, 10 minutes is also fine.
Thanks Floyd. That’s what We’re hoping to do and hoping the audience will enjoy it. 👍🏻

Im sure u guys are making informed judgements when getting in the water, but im a wreck watching u guys in the water
Hope you're enjoying the series CT
@@WildReaches Mate, I am. Working my way through all the episodes.
Damn this place looks incredible! Hey another question - do the crocs ever grab fish while they're being reeled in?
Yep this river is truly amazing. In the Salt Water stretches yes they can grab a fish if its a long fight but in the freshwater they seem to be different beasts. Very stealth like and cunning. So no Iv never had one taken in the fresh.
@@WildReaches Ah ok, yeah it's tense just watching you guys next to those deep pools! Keep up the solid work fellas!
@@danewilton6169 thanks mate, plenty more to come
Yoo need a 3030 strapped over your shoulder for the Crocs. 👍🏽👍👍
Yeah there is normally one in the boat for emergencies.
Ignorant me, but why no aluminum poles for polling? Yes, minimum gear and all. But necessary gear.

Palm cockatoos live to 80 to 90 years on an AUstralian zoo Nath
Wow!! I thought the longest record was 60
You using minnow??
We use all sorts of lures mate, but yes small minnows work well in this river.
