Thanks for clearing it up. And I agree. It's not wise to complain against someone who understands musicality and style better than they'll ever know. What's ironic is that they got served in their own country. Born is very well-rounded bboy who incorporates many different styles from all around the world and puts it into one. Never seen such a bboy who's so dedicated and willing to master all different styles of dance movements worldwide.

Listen guys... dancing is about moving with the music. Born danced with the music and hit every single beat. The other guy was just doing powermoves the whole time, as if he was deaf and didn't care about the music.
Power is good and extremely difficult, but it is also extremely difficult to do floorwork with as much style as born does. It isn't only about creativity and expressing yourself, it is also about musicality and execution, which born has way more than youseff in this battle. Born won this battle since Style > Power. People who only do footwork are not killing breakdance, it is a part of breakdancing. Only a person who doesn't know anything about bboying would say that.

Born has power and doesn't bother to use it because he doesn't need too. Look at his older videos of chair flares and mill's he is a puzzle with a piece of everything which is why he is a "complete" bboy and shouldn't be called out for making a decision as a judge in a competition.
That's how you do it though, if you don't like the judges decision you call 'em out.
Props to Youssef for having the balls to do that. There's nothing arrogant about what he did. That's the Bboy way of doing things.

When I say on beat, it means on the basic 1, 2, 3, 4's, the simple drums and the "boom" of the songs. I've been brought up to dance with the music, and listening to the songs. Tricks is not a bboying aspect, but power is. Some people may argue, but Punisher is a "trickster"/powerhead and still dances on beat / music. I do participate to events, cypher and battle, that doesn't make me less or more of a bboy though.
@BizarreTattoosTime Back in 2003 when Born was in the original Gambler crew, he was more of a power head than a style head. He relearned his style by studying the history of the culture and refined his movement to what you see now. Knowledge passed down from Poe one. Peace.

@sukerjumps you don't make sense.. crowd applauded for born because he's known? excuse me, but this was during hip opsession in FRANCE and french crowds are known for biased towards their own people. Born deserved everything the crowd gave him. And 3 set equal? you're pretty blind if you can't see the diversity in his sets.

@BizarreTattoosTime i think one thing you might be overlooking was who had the style and flavor in this battle, not sure how you missed born's musicality in his first round but i can see it pretty clearly. Yea Born's musicality is one thing but i really thing what got the crowd hyped up was his attitude and approach to this battle. first of all you gotta understand the situation under which the battle started, youssef called out the judges and born had to represent them
the only thing that youssef did that was really difficult was double muchmills. other elements were not difficult at all.
