I'm GUTTED this didn't come to the Theatre Royal in Plymouth. The set was built in Plymouth and they wanted to go to the Theatre Royal but scheduling conflicts prevented this. It's my 30th next summer and I heard it's doing a limited West End run at the Eventim Apollo Theatre. I'm hoping to go to this and also Disney's Hercules so it will be a double dose of Disney (sort of as this is adapted from Dodie Smith's novel which is actually one of my favourite novels!). I also would really like to see Craig Revel Horwood play Cruella DeVil. Not that Kym Marsh isn't any good, but I just think if Craig can nail Miss Hannigan and The Wicked Witch of the West, he'd smash Cruella DeVil! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Saw it today in Liverpool. It was mostly good. The cast and puppetry were the highlights. Kym Marsh was having the time of her life as Cruella. The Songs were good too. But the script was hit and miss, particularly in the second act. The first act moved smoothly along, despite some misgivings, in particular I didn't like the Peta joke, it makes them look heroic, which they're anything but! But my main issues with the second act were the cartoony tone which was frankly childish, and the moments that were either padding or unnecessary or in the wrong places. However it was still an enjoyable show regardless. 7/10
I went and watched it live it was so good
