I went from the hanging bells, to the push alert bell..back to the hanging bells. Had to make my own hanging bells with ribbons and smaller bells from the hobby store..that seemed to be the sweet spot.
You have helped me so much! Do you let her out alone? Our fully fenced yard contains all the things a 5.5 month old puppy likes to mouth such as small pine cones full of pitch, pebbles, bamboo, sticks, etc. I fear he will choke on something so don't let him out by himself. He has no PICA or nutritional issues or disease- just puppy teething and exploring his world through his mouth. How about Pistachio with regards to that? Is there an age when that lessens? He has leave it down really well so I can work that command but I need to have him on a leash and watch him like a hawk. Vet said sticks and larger pebbles are a major cause of emergency surgery for pups. And i have read hawks, Eagles and other large birds of prey will attack dogs up to 15 lbs. Argh...we have such a lovely yard for him but it appears it is a puppy danger zone for sure. Or am I being too catious?
We do let Pistachio out alone since she’s become an adult! We have a fenced in yard and she no longer puts everything in her mouth - they do outgrow that! She will still eat grass and rodent poo, but we don’t get too much of the ladder thankfully. I have never worried about birds of prey - might just not be an issue where I live but I’ve never worried about this for any of my family’s Havanese.
Hi I got my havanese dog... I just want to ask you a thing as you had experience with a lot of havanese, do you recommend spaying her , or not I'm afraid in both choices and I need an experienced mom to tell me what to do
Thanks for this! Just got that same doorbell and hoping to get our girl to use it. Very helpful video! We will try breaking it into steps as you did. 🐶 🔔 🚪 ❤
Brilliant! How old was Pistachio when you began potty training? Also, how is she about being left alone? I am considering a Havanese but heard they are known for separation anxiety.
We began potty training day 1 of having her home with us! I have a video on how we avoided separation anxiety that talks all about leaving her home alone - check that one out :)
@@NancyFoxTV we did get her from a breeder, although there was some sketchy stuff so I wouldn’t recommend this one. I have not made a video on purchasing a pup since I haven’t quite mastered it myself, but maybe one day!
@@NancyFoxTV can check to see if they are listed by AKC as a reputable breeder. The breeder then should supply registration paper for you to submit to that org. So your pup can be registered.
hi, im watching you from Egypt first of all congratulations on your pregnancy, hope you have a smooth delivery time and a healthy beautiful baby i wanna thank you for your detailed videos, im expecting my havanese baby girl in 2 weeks, so i am doing a lot of research and seeing a lot of videos, yours were the most seen im afraid about her anxiety issues when i leave the house especially i live alone, have no one, found 1 daycare center but the cost is crazy 1.5K per 4 hours!!! which is crazy in our country expenses do you have any specific advice if i wanna leave her 6 hours , just to have time in my club enjoying a pool will i be able to leave her for 6 hours? as i read and you said 4 hours is max time for a havanese !!! or should i not bring one and save her from the anxiety
another question popped into my mind now... if i will be able to speak to her through the cam , playing her classic music till i come after 6 hours, will this help?? i will wait for your answer , cause it will help me to go with getting my baby or not thank you
Hi there, I’d encourage you to watch my video on separation anxiety. I think it would answer a lot of your questions on how to keep your baby comforted when you’re gone. You can absolutely leave a havanese alone for 6 hours. I lean more towards not leaving a havanese alone 8+ hours every day just based on their companion dog personality. Six hours is doable and we’ve done it with our dog, especially when it’s not an every day occurrence you have nothing to worry about! But watch that separation anxiety video to know how to leave your pup at home without increasing their anxiety.
This is impressive!!
This was so so so cute. Havi’s are so smart!! Pistachio is no exception! ❤️
