Andy, out of all the people who loved Norm, this and Conan's podcast were clearly the 1st and 2nd best eulogies he's received so far. Very classy, keep it up.
Seeing Andy here being so great got me thinking, I would kill someone to see any sort of interaction between Conan and Tim, let alone a full OH episode
Andy should just be a full-time co-host? He's so god damn good at keeping a flow going and having things stay focused. It's really impressive to see it outside of the context of Conan 🙏
The deeply closeted gay man joke was genius, not only because of the absurd logic of it but also Larry King didn't understand it was a joke and keeps thinking he's on the verge of an interview bombshell
Man, Norm’s passing stings. He was the funniest man alive, respected by the most alternative and absurd, all the way to blue collar. Hearing the man was always a respite from life, although he often commented and joked about death (I wonder why). Tim’s admiration for Norm makes me love the man even more RIP to the old chunk of coal
I appreciate the time spent to remember Norm, but the tone policing and hand-wringing over "easy target" jokes is silly, if well intentioned. Norm's gay jokes were less "haha, gay" and more about making a certain kind of heterosexual man very uncomfortable. And as much as Andy claims he doesn't care if it's directed at him so much as he was more worried about how gay family and colleagues would look at him if he laughed at their theoretical expense, I think Norm had a sixth sense and dunked on the right person. If you want to see a comedian who got it and rolled along, check out Norm and David Spade on Dennis Miller's old HBO show.
@@KaroSyrupCinema Spade portrayed the exact same thing that Andy was talking about. There's just nowhere to go with it, no way you can respond other than "nah u gay".
I think this is the most I've appreciated Andy, it's nice to see him not as a side guy. I'm a little too young to remember when he was on tv with his own show so it was refreshing to see him speak a little more frankly and also freely because he's great at riffing and if anything more charming when he's a little more dressed down.
I just bought a refurbished Dyson from the official eBay store. My GF wanted a new hairdryer as well so we bought one of those too (they had a coupon for 20% off). They ended up sending us the vacuum cleaner and not one but TWO hairdryers! I gave one to my mum…
Absolutely loved the Norm exchange beginning 17:14. Also Andy’s comment on Norm’s Canadian face of ultra-politeness countered with his monster genius. Like Tim said, not a people pleaser but not hateful or a truth-teller - just an incredible comedic talent. One of the greats.
To be honest I think the genius of Norm is how he could be respectfully disrespectful. I think he understands darkness and nuance and I could see him being quiet and withdrawn at a funeral expecially during a service but I could also see him lovingly make people uncomfortably belly laugh at a reception. He was a deeply christian but never in a way that was ever too preachy from what I've seen his public appearences. Comedy was developed culturally to be the antithesis to tradgedy and his comedy delves a lot into morbidity, which is why we have comedy. I dont think you mean to say anything to put Norm down I just think people love him because they saw the many sides of him, like Andy even said he didn't love all or Norms bits especailly the ones that aged poorly but my impression is that Andy really did see Norm for what he was and respected him despite is sometimes shithead tendencys because they came from a place of just criticising everything always.
I don’t know if I’d say Norm had a ‘nihilistic streak’ considering he was an open Christian. I kinda get what Richter was saying Norm’s fairly ‘anything goes’ attitude but I don’t think he thought ‘nothing matters in comedy’ because everything is all just made up and the cosmos is indifferent. I think if anything he’d see the human drama as cosmically significant and thus necessary to joke about.
The only andy richter's 'gay' joke of norm's that i remember is andy richter the swedish german which was mostly funny cause it was an old timey shaggy dog story with andy thrown in for no reason. the punchline itself wasn't even the funny part of the joke, really. but maybe there were other ones i forgot or missed.
You know you can’t make enemies of people who basically think you all of you as pretty cute little monkey children with no complete awareness:p. It would be like those people who are offended by kids who yell “your a fatty” at you when they are 4 and you are over 30. :)
Ty guys. RIP Norm. He was a good Comedian, and sometimes not very nice to others. But I blame superstition for that. Peace! And, btw friends, you Can actually change core elements of your being/philosophy, especially during teenage years, lol.

its sort of ironic that Andy is the one to give the most moving eulogies for Norm considering how Norm ribbed him on Conan. Andy is dope..
Andy seamlessly fit in and added a real warmth to the show. Hope he comes back on in the future.
“Talk about poking through a turd looking for corn.” 😂
I love Andy Richter, i also just want to get in the ground and sleep forever lol
It’s a knick knack Paddy Wack! Give the frog a loan! His ol man’s a rollin stone!
RIP to the GOAT

duuuude
I think Tim and Eric went on Conan one time.
@@NicholasBarthesJohnstontheIII Yes! They did the show one time, I believe they went as skiers
Apparently Conan didn’t like the bit. He’s just not a fan of Tim. Oh well…

Who would have thought his 20+ years of experience as a co-host would have made him good at this job?
@@cornsockgabz yes indeed

Shows the difference between these guys him. Tim and Andy can't handle a few homosexuaI jokes but he had cancer and could make fun of it.

One of my favorite episodes yet. That K Bay album is awesome! Like modern New Order. So glad I discovered my type of people, office hours rules
This is great, thanks for your time guys
@@JohnAlexanderiii and thank you for your time writing that reply as well as the time it took you to read this one. Thank you, again!

“Fleetwood Mick” had me in tears 🤣
Get Richter on again please, really gives the show a good flow 💯
Captain Carlin's looking excellent, wearing the ever-loving peanuts out of that Katy Lied hat.
I'm about to eat a bucket of ice cream and then hang myself in the garage at minute 8:30

Andy is one of the all time greats!
Loved the norm talk...
I was so happy they talked about norm. Also love how Andy is still annoyed about the Swedish German thing
this is so so so wonderful
Andy is amazing
Andy is a perfect guest, wonderful addition.
I liked Andy Richters Newsmax Stinchfield impression. “Cut his mic!” Very current eventy
The light grey jean jacket is the cherry on top of that Sean Feucht photo
I have *no doubt* Norm would have been extremely respectful at a funeral. Andy really only saw one side of him.

Shit comment
I love Andy, what a good show 💓
Mumford and Sons playing with Imagine Dragons to a gun to their head is fucking genius. Andy is amazing
I love the clean fidelity of the picture,, sheer crisp blue..
The intro music though !!! 👌
Tim ... super funny, comic genius 🤣
The caller Mariam plays in a great band called Bong Wish!
Hey guys. Love you guys
One of the better shows! Needed more Dougg though.
Andy Richter thank u! signed

That's it. Andy needs to be in the show at least once a month
Rest in peace norm. Making the swedish-german whine from beyond the grave
You know what they say speak ill of the dead.
I love Andy!
Andy is so cool.
Just spotted Matt’s hat, Steely Dan ref?
Ben franklin bridge looks mid western?

Gotta swap out that Dyson for a Miele. Never look back.
Andy razzing Doug was hilarious.
So wait this episode might be gold Tim's literally on shrooms
what?
Andy should be a permanent co-host
i know your little brain laughed at the grammatical error don’t lie. :)
But you know that thing insecure adults do when kids call them fat, thats what humor is, when its not absurdity
Tim Heidecker is Tim Dillon.
Richter is still mad that Norm accused him of watching gay porn? Wasn't the joke of his character in talladega nights that he was gay?
27:10 made me piss
Andy is so fucking cool
Tell Joe Rogan that this is in fact how a podcast is done.
These sound effects are a little too wacky for work Tim. Save it for five o'clock!
