Skool Daze man. Had no clue what the hell was going down... Loved Rambo but it was often bugged. Played these in my mams council house with no heating and only a calor gas burner to keep us alive in the chilling 80's winters. Cheers for the memories.

Back in the 80s my friends and I would always lie to each other about the insanely great ending sequences on Spectrum games. I think the whole pretence only worked because the games were virtually impossible for us to beat and we'd hardly seen any endings at all. But even so, it seems like such an odd thing for us to lie about - that the Spectrum was capable of really good graphics but that they were hidden away to almost everyone.

The Dan Dare games hold up surprisingly well. I'd love a remake of those.

Popoeye (#34) won plaudits for managing to get around the attribution error (colour clash) problem which beset many Speccy games.

Several spectrum games ends with game over screen. As a kid i dont undestand this shit, and feel sad. But my dad find this very funny and laught.

Unfortunately in those days memory for computers and consoles was extremely limited, not to mention incredibly expensive. This meant that there was quite often very little space for more substantial endings like you could get in games now.

A very poor choice of door colour from the devs at 10.03 (how do I make the timestamp blue? It's always been bugging me lol)

The spectrum games where so difficult that most of them dont have an end because no one can reach them.
