Mr Skelton was the first star to make me laugh so hard I cried and did it over and over...and guess what...all his performances were clean...not profanity laden and filthy. Humor was one of his talents. Artist, wrote music and wrote love letters to his wife every day. Love that man...we sorely need about a billion more like him, esp in light of our worlds present condition. Hope u r resting in peace with ur beloved son. ❤️
As I grew up I had the exquisite delight of Red's awesome humor! Dec 4, 1990 I had the opportunity to watch him perform at the Jubilee Theatre for 2 hrs. Of sheer delight! I laughed so hard that the the bones in my face hurt.😂
Really Enjoyed Red Skeleton, was a true comedian who didn’t need to be vulgar to be funny. Thank you for sharing his programs. Really Fun memories. God Bless
I loved watching Red Skelton when I was a teenager. Also he said Bobby Kennedy is running for President I suppose. He's very funny and I at the age of 70 still keep on laughing.
I was looking for this episode of the Red Skelton Hour with Tennessee Ernie Ford as a guest star, and I have finally found it on TH-cam. Thank you, Red Skelton Museum channel. I hope that TH-cam doesn't delete your videos because the show was removed from the TubiTV app back in November of 2020, because I miss it being there. Yours truly, Margaret Garnto.
When I was a kid I enjoyed those dance routines, now as an older man I find them embarrassing. :) There will never be another Red Skelton, and I'm just thankful to have had the opportunity to enjoy his talent.
I also loved the Carol Burnett Show which ran from 1967- 1978 I cried when it went off the air. I miss Tim Conway and Harvey kroman. It's a blessing that we can watch them.
Always liked the singers came on with the intro and I especially liked the part after the tom Hansen dancers and they sang "and here he is, RED SKELTON!"
In a lot of closings for this, one final music number done by the Tom Hansen Dancers and the Alan Copeland/Jimmy Joyce singers which would end with this verse "So goodbye, until the moment when we'll see you all again, to our friends near and far, fare thee well, au revoir."
What shocks and amazes me is that this is his New Years 1968 show. He even says it's his New Years show. Yet, it was made and taped 10 months beforehand, the prior March! LOL I could see a month or two beforehand, but 10 months beforehand? Man it was great to hear that CBS 'ping' in the beginning. I had forgotten all about that. It has to be close to 50 years since I heard that when I was a little boy!
i just watched it. he almost screwed up what the new year was. he first .talks about the previous year as 1966 and then he says happy 1968. that is why i came here.
I remember bill maher criticizing him some time ago, mispronouncing his name disrespectfully. Red skeleton. Red was funnier on his worst day. God bless. ❤
I grew up watching Red Skeleton he was one of my favorite .Tennessee ford was awesome.

Well it was subtle vulgarity, but it was all in good taste and do respect.
Bro, this shit is plenty vulgar
We were from Bristol, and really appreciated it when Tennessee Ernie Ford mentioned his home town, even from Hollywood.

Gawd Bless!
No, Red Skelton was a clean comedian. You NEVER heard ANY profanity on Red's comedy program! We watched Red's show every Tuesday night.
"TOO BAD YOU DID NOT ADJUST THE AUDIO VOLUME WHEN THIS WAS UPLOADED, HAD TO MOVE ON..."
What the pluck did they say ?🤣
Peggy Rea!!

1968 is the yeari would go back to if I could. 😮
Except for Vietnam
33rd degree freemason/CBS - all seeing eye. The things you don't put together that's put right in your face. Still funny, but....makes one think.
