Both are beautiful sounding instruments! I also noticed an immediate difference in the mikes, before you even started playing. It picked up the low sustained sounds that were barely heard in the shotgun mike. Neat!

Yes, Exactly. The shotgun us for voice, mainly, so it has a roll-off at about 200 hz, which means there's not much low-end.

I have both instruments from Musicmakers which is the harpkit link you listed. My monochord is tuned to C and the harp is their standard tuning. I play them together and it is gorgeous.i have the monochord on a keyboard stand and lay the harp on a small table next to it. I play them together using both hands and it's beautiful. I'm a Sound healing therapist and RN. People love the sound of them. They love vocal toning to the monochord too which is a droning instrument and used in Indian music and for chanting and toning. The reverie harp was invented by a music therapist too. They are my two favorites and sound amazing together. Thanks for your video.

Glad to see the reverie harp make a return. Since the monolini is tuned to a D power chord, this might have worked better with the harp tuned to D pentatonic. As for the mics, I liked both. I think in a recording, you could try blending them. The talking mic is more crisp with more attack.
I think both instruments would work well with the santoor.

Hey there! New subscriber to you beautiful channel - thank you for your amazing content! I'm looking to get the reverie harp, but wonder what tuning scale you used, please? It sounds different from the one demonstrated on the website's video (for their monochord).

are your both mics are connected to the looper?

No looper in this instance, but I can use either. I bypassed the looper to get a pure sound - this time.

Could you play the table one like a lap steel, maybe? With a longer metal rod, or a glass bottle . would like to hear that.
