I watched FiM and had a lot of fun watching it. Ive taken into collecting the EQG Minis, and while I love rainbow dash's design, her leg came off and I am on the hunt for a new one. I havent been in touch with the franchise since then, but I am sad to hear next year's BronyCon will be the last. While I keep my brony business private for the most part, its nice to look into the positive side of the fandom. and I agree on the haters needing to back the hell off. Everyone takes everything way too far. I hope to have some of my own videos up soon, most tech related, some destructive, some educational, some both, and a couple odd looks at technological toys from the 80s and 90s, but I need a space for the mayhem to take place (to be fittingly called the Violenceatorium) Keep up the great content, Jaxen! Video is fun but all this older generations hate in the comments makes me sad, I absolutely love g1 and g3. I'll just say one thing to all bronies here : mlp used to be a different beast before g4, the cartoons weren't as good as FIM but I didn't matter since the toys were what was important,and on that point as a toyline g1 and g3 were so much better its not even funny. Stop judging older generations by their cartoons, it's like judging FIM by the toys.

When I was born, this is the generation we had currently. 3 years later, we had the best generation of all time, Friendship is Magic! Become a fan in 2020. A year later, we had this new CGI generation which is mediocre. Right now I’m still a fan of My Little Pony tbh with ya.

Much of it dates back to elementary school: I got rewarded a third-generation Rainbow Dash toy (the Happy Meal kind) from my speech teacher and made a movie with it: Bullet to the Face, amongst other ones. I guess it was from there that I started learning more about the show - mostly from external sources and TH-cam - and gradually started embracing the fan base. Rather long story, but I tend to become hyper-focused and passionate with certain subjects (i.e. filmmaking). It was probably when I was fifteen that I started watching the show and was already familiar with it - based on the research I’ve done and my fascination for the toys as well as the older generations - that I guess it just clicked from there. It was also around that time that I started trying specific meetups and conventions in my area, but I think it was when I discovered a girl named Sarahndipity Cosplay, the whole Brony concept really struck a chord with me. Had it not been for Sarah, especially her grandiose cosplays, I never would’ve really come to appreciate cosplaying as much. Don’t get me wrong, I always found it an oddity as a kid seeing people dressed up for Comic-Con - but you gotta do what gets you out of your comfort zone. Another contributing factor had to be when I was writing my first screenplay; I looked into the Brony fandom and realized that nobody had ever really made a film about Bronies. Two documentaries had already been made at the time, but there just didn’t seem to be any movies in Hollywood concerning this topic. I do recall seeing Ted 2 and was fascinated by all the pony product placements in there, but was disappointed that the plot never really focused on that. It was from there that I started tailoring the script to make it the first Brony story of its type, since I figured: if nobody’s willing to make a movie about Bronies, it’s going to have to be me. I’m hoping that once I graduate film school, I can get the project off the ground and make a potential franchise out of it. Perhaps I could prove that Brony flicks could prevail over superhero films, but that’s my personal opinion on the subject.
